The first 2 MCR albums are kinda good but everything after is horrid. Funny how that happens!
I kinda feel like that, but more nuanced. For me Bullets is their true classic, 3 Cheers their commercial "Nevermind" record, and Black Parade a good effort but highly overrated atm. 4th album sucks, and Conventional Weapons and everything after is just okay I guess.

I agree. Malle loves the loosey goosey structure of new wave films but not a single one of his films have any interesting formal style. He shoots everything so flat, without any visual flair, or interesting montage technique or anything. He is probably the most mid European filmmaker of all time.
