He earned it for Terminator and the Aliens movie. Titanic and all his shit afterward were just a reward by the studios for creating such timeless work.
James Cameron Defends Using AI in Films
the senile old fool
I wonder why he doesn't seem to care about the writing of these movies at all.
Wtf!! I love James Cameron now
It just reeks of him writing these gooner sesh stories when he was a young guy and clearly into some proto-furry shit and now he's forcing it onto everyone.
It's typical degen behavior.
he's always been a schmaltzy, hack writer, in his better films like Terminator he had help with the writing.
Considering he could be like Tarantino making gay interracial porn out in the middle of the snow I'm fine with the blue cat people
Meh, great directors have an expiry date just like any other artist and unfortunately they usually keep making movies well past it. If anything we should be grateful he's taking so long between releases instead of pummeling us with a mountain of garbage like Ridley Scott.
There is literally no reason not to use AI in whatever capability that it can handle, as long as we also are willing to restructure society to accomodate the fact that AI will be mantling many things that used to be done by human labor.
AI is just a tool like CGI. It's going to replace a bunch of worthless people in Special Effects and IATSE, but no one of value in the DGA, PGA or WGA. Cameron is on the right path. You can't comprehend how many worthless wannabe directors and photographers currently live in LA and New York just shooting "fashion" social media shit or "music videos".
the costs of a film
and to make films faster
is this good or le bad, i don't know
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to fuck hot aliens
the movies made $2 billion each
is it really possible for them to have zero cultural impact
doesn't seem like it
Yes. I still see people talking about inception and memeing, etc. Avatar? hardly anything. avatar 2? It's like it never existed.
Aliens aren't real anon and neither is outer space. It's fetish material, nothing more.
t. Never saw the original and have no interest in the series whatsoever.
Because inception sucks, tryhard bullshit
you say that and then fire and ash makes another $2 billion
and it's not like they're just overseas hits
the domestic gross for these movies is also massive
you say that and then fire and ash makes another $2 billion
no chance now that he uses AI
Yeah, but it's still more memorable and a better movie than furry blue pocahontas in space
I'm still convinced that avatar 2 was a Hollywood scam.
Only broke twitter "artists" seethe this hard over AI
Aliens almost certainly exist somewhere in the universe, there’s just far too many planetary systems for something like earth to not happen elsewhere. They’re probably so far away that it doesn’t matter at all though.
the last 15 years
Hasn't he been working on those movies since Titanic?
I always view directors as having a good 10 years and then they begin to churn out slop at an increasing rate until they die.
Lots of people go and see these movies
Lots of people will go and see the new one
You'll cry again
blue furry alien cats
no cultur impact
pocahontas in space
Always the same cope. Doesn't change the fact that these movies made over 5 billion so far and it will be 10 billion in the near future.
why did bioware give tali such massive, perfect baby bearing hips?
It's fetish material
he believes in fetishes
You truly have been mindfucked
There is water on several planetary bodies in our own solar system. We could go and prove aliens exist once and for all. But there is no money to be made from confirming it.
mfw after I finish the 24-hour 6-movie marathon of Jim's magnum opus
angling the camera to DEM HIPS in the lift
If Avatar 1 came out today it would be considered a Megalopolis tier flop, literally the only things going for the movie is the tech and the nostalgia.
Stabilization is ai btw
the brownest, chocolatiest of hands made these posts
The nasa clipper mission is currently flying towards Europa to begin to do exactly that.
Because the first mass effect game came from a better time.
T. Seething retard at the fact that Ai makes better art than him and other slop artists
Also
you made me seethe
therefore you're brown
Dumb, dishonest, immoral
Are you brown?
It’s a European trait to embrace new technologies
SAAR I AM EUROPEAN SAAR
No, you are not
Avatar was such a nothing movie, just a boring tech demo spectacle. No ambition, no sovl. Meanwhile kinotroversial stuff like Prometheus still gets yapped about to this very day.
He lucked out with Aliens. He's shit
Literally every movie he ever made was kino. The guy is just pure talent who knows how to give audiences exactly what they want.
Yeah, yeah. Just put the fries in the bag, bro.
I just want him to do one more Terminator film.
Set in the original timeline. Prequel to T1.
Set in the future war
Humanity lost and a small team lead by John Connor is on one last mission to set things right
Connor is Christian Bale again but done properly
Bring in someone else to be the main T800 of this film. Maybe an unknown. Speaks very little.
The T800 is chasing after Connor.
It's full of horror and gore. Much like a typical Terminator film the T800 is eventually defeated. But John is killed.
Reese takes over the mission and heads to the HQ where the time travel room is located.
Once there we see he is too late. Another T800. The one we know from T1. Schwarzenegger. Heads back to 1984.
Film ends with Reese going back as well.
Avatar was a global phenomenon. It's why films were in 3D for years: even films that absolutely did not benefit from being in 3D.
It was a fad like Pokémania or LOST, but so was Titanic. I'm sure it still has its fans.
spends the last 15 years and likely the rest of his life making pointless movies about naked blue cat aliens with zero cultural impact
Is that not how we would all like to end our days, though?
cultural impact
bereft of actual, concrete arguments (box office, ratings, contribution to movie making technology and techniques), pathological contrarian reverts to a vague subjective worldview. There's a reason JC movies made like 20 billion dollars collectively
the robots go back to World War II to alter history
resistance fighters follow them
it is kind of impressive how unoriginal and uninteresting they are
I mean if the writing was good or the idea was good it would be enough paired with the visuals to make them good movies but neither are good
He hasn't created anything original in his entire career
there's nothing memorable about the movies. No real iconic unique moments, no memorable lines, nothing, the movies are so by the numbers as hell there's nothing in the movies that people reference or talk about in real life.
in retard speak, there are no dank memes
That sounds like the most contrived phoned in plot possible. It sounds like the Disney star wars format of prequel where they flesh out things that have already been sufficiently fleshed out but you get to see how a character gets their iconic hat. What does it add to see the characters from the first film go back in time? You're not adding anything the audience wouldn't already know about so seems kind of pointless.
Gale Anne Hurd never helped with the script for T1 in the way people think when they hear she was a co-writer. She made a few suggestions that Cameron then added to the script but he wrote almost the entire thing by himself save for some of the dialogue that is accredited to his friend William Wisher. Other than that he had actual co-writers for Aliens, T2 and True Lies but not The Abyss or Titanic or the first Avatar.
No. Hence my reply to you. But I guess even if I was brown my reply would still be valid.
I forced myself to watch all of Avatar 2 just so I could feel completely justified with shitting on it. And my God, watching blue people swim with whales for 3 fucking hours is the sloggiest of slogfests ever. I cannot wrap my head around how it had as much monetary success as the first film.
mating press sex with kiri
watching blue people swim with whales for 3 fucking hours
Believe it or not anon, the movie dealt a lot with family relations, colonialism, animal abuse, corpo crimes and spirituality.
every movie he ever made
He was involved with terminator Dark fate. Nuff said
you do know he is a cover for USA government military operations in the ocean right? He has been since the titanic
fermi paradox would like a word with your illogical line of thought
