The hints at delays and having to explain shit to Palpy almost made me wish we got some indirect view of it. They manage to show the empire being bad, maybe show the dread the Emperor inspires through his underlings?

This might be old material but I recall reading that stormtrooper armor distributes the energy of the laser around a wider area so it has a higher chance of wounding you instead of outright killing you.

At any rate most body armor (IRL at least) is useful for stopping shrapnel from explosives, which is much more likely to kill you in a war than a direct hit anyways.

Storm Trooper armor is entirely plot powered. It can either keep you alive through multiple hits, take a single hit and while you are in a world of hurt lying on the ground, you're still alive, or be completely useless.
