In most European countries you get money for the cans and bottles. In europoor countries it's like 7-10euro cents, but in Germany, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, etc. it's more like 15-25 euro cents for cans and beer bottles and up to 50 cents for the 1.5-2L plastic bottles.

I have a recycling bin which my town picks up for free and I have a trash can which I bring to the dumb when it gets full. I put basically everything in my recycling bin except for like food. Even stuff that can’t be recycled I’ll put in and cover up with recyclable stuff so they won’t notice when they open the top (not like they see anyway since the truck picks it up and dumps it). The more trash I put in the recycling bin the less often I have to go to the dump, if my town doesn’t like it then pick up my trash for free.

The recycling place where I live closed down so I just throw it all in the trash now because I'm not about to drive multiple hours to sort cans and shit.
