Filming for #TheLastOfUs Season 3 is not expected to begin until 2026, according to Isabela Merced in an interview with @Variety: “I think it should be next year.”

why do they keep doing this? Few years ago they had legitimate reasons for delaying production, like covid or strike but now? You know you can just start shooting next season while the current one is still airing, or even before it starts to air, come on

Dever Fever.jpg - 1920x2160, 2.19M

scheduling conflicts

She owes me anal sex

Because

tv productions are now like 8 hour movies, very expensive and complex to shoot with a lot of bloat so it takes more time to organise and get done

shows using major hollywood stars who all have busy schedules so you need to find a time where they're all free to shoot at once

studios being more risk averse and waiting for the current season to get good ratings before green lighting the next season, that means you start planning while the current season is airing instead of shooting the next one while its airing

When's the next episode

filming season 2 took 150 days

yeah that's not sustainable in the slightest. pllus they need to film in Canada at specific times of year.

tonight

with a lot of bloat

hehehe

bloater.jpg - 2000x1270, 230.02K

Is Abby gonna be in this season again

the season is split in 2 and my guess is the 2nd half will be Abby-focused. Just a guess tho

I remember when my favorite shows would consist of 22-to-24 episodes. Literally HALF the fucking year they would be on TV.

Then they would be off TV during the summer and we'll all speculate about the next over a few months, before it came back on.

Now TV shows consist of 8 episodes a season, shot 3 years apart.

Dever's sexy. I have no interest in this show but I've always wanted kiss her freckles.

gingerkino.jpg - 2377x3378, 1.92M

*possibly split into more than 2. Mazin has hinted at the material possibly being enough for a fourth season.
In which case I suppose s3 would be Abby's three days in Seattle, while s4 would be all the epilogue stuff with the farm and Santa Barbara

the downside was that you would inevitably get shows based on a return to the status quo by the end of each episode. longform plot development didn't normally happen and there was little interest in character arcs because the cast's dynamics had to remain the same despite episodes airing out of order. I'd rather have a smaller number of better shows than loads of mid bilge.

s4 would be all the epilogue stuff with the farm and Santa Barbara

there is no way they can stretch that shit out for a whole ass season, thats like 2 episodes or 3 at most
just use the show to make TLOU part 3 if those fucks are so greedy

he has to add a lot of stuff because the Ellie v Abby revenge plot ultimately comes down to unsatisfying refusals to kill each other.

its a big reason why the Bella doubters missed the point: she was never going to have to "carry the show" because Pedro didn't do that in season 1. the show has always been more of an apocalyptic ensemble cast story-of-the-week where Mazin introduces characters, the current main duo interact with them, some/all of them die or are left behind and the journey continues.

The tv show writing is so shit TLOU Part II looks like Shakespeare now.

Based Druckman and his 256 multidimensional chess play.

Mazin has hinted at the material possibly being enough for a fourth season.

he'll have been told about the intended direction of Part 3 of the games.

larper tries to explain something he's only guessing about

im tired bros

yeah dude everyone LOVES Part 2 now :DDD

VD09afj.jpg - 645x729, 64.03K

Everyone ouside this nintendo shithole already loves Part II.

I dunno, I see ways to expand it.

Ellie and Dina on the farm gets a whole episode

Abby and Lev traveling, contacting Fireflies and then getting captured is an episode

Ellie's journey to SB gets an episode, something noteworthy happened on the way, instead of the game's time jump basically teleporting her there

some sort of standalone flashback episode, if Bill/Frank and Eugene have made it a tradition to do that every season

Fighting her way through the Rattlers is another episode

Finale is finding/fighting Abby and then arriving back at the empty farm

I haven't played either of the games except to watch let's plays which succeeded in convincing me that Mazin is heavily outperforming it.

Druckmann seems to agree as he was much more hands-off this season than in season 1, so I guess the guy that made Part 2 thinks you're a no-taste having cunt for liking something less good, weird.

you people are so bad at grasping how adaptation works.

Mazin can cut to anything he wants. we'll get the info we get when we need it. just like we met the Seraphim in a new scene, Abby in a new scene, the WLF leader in a new flashback scene then a new torture scene, etc.

it's like you have no ability to imagine new things for yourselves and can only conceptualize longer or shorter versions of scenes in the games even though the show never limited itself to that.

you left out that episode 4 is a mid-season finale so they can take a 3 month vacation before releasing the second half.

I haven't play the games

The rest of your wall of text is invalidated.

Based freckles appreciator.
I always find it weird when attractive chicks attempt to cover up their freckles when it makes them even cuter.
Same with Emma Watson too.

no, its the opposite.
gameplay is what makes people think that the story of the games was going to be adaptable without huge additions and changes.

anon... last weeks episode was episode 4.

even though the show never limited itself to that.

Season 1 was more of a beat for beat direct retread of the first game, though s2 has diverged from this a bit

Season 1 was more of a beat for beat direct retread of the first game

except for the stuff that was different in literally every single episode lol.
and when they put the DLC to Part 1 in the middle of the season, completely changing the order of information and making "Ellie was always gay" official.

every single week small changes are talked about like the show hasn't always been different.

women are fucking retarded

when attractive chicks attempt to cover up their freckles

How about when they do the opposite? And get permanent fake freckle tattoos

they don't do it to cover them up, they just wear make-up because they're celebs

Looks like the Sims shit.

the last of us 2 for PC running on my 4090

supposed to be the other half of the same three days

everyone looks years older

are they gonna have an episode with the rat king or would that be too "video gamey"?

It's one of the most well known parts of the game so not including it would be retarded

I always find it weird when attractive chicks attempt to cover up their freckles when it makes them even cuter. Same with Emma Watson too.

You get it. It kills me when cute actresses like Watson and Harper cover them up with makeup when they always make a girl more attractive.

Definitely not whatever that shit is… natural freckles or nothing.

stardustcig.jpg - 1242x1397, 372.98K

Or Saoirse

Probably show up briefly at the end of the last episode. Based on how they've adapted the game thus far, she will likely be the lead in the next season

8 hours so 16 30 minute episodes. There used to be 20 episode seasons. Get good faggot.

This would be terrible, but they'll probably do it. The Santa Barbra/farm stuff should be 3 episodes max and immediately follow the Seattle plot. I can't imagine it would work very well to have an entire season long break before getting to the farm

tattoo

just start shooting bro

Somehow I don't think you're ever going to land a job as a producer

The biggest difference besides the sheer size of the TV productions now, far bigger than they used to be, seems to be the casts, where they cast a lot of big name actors who do other roles and have to be lined up in schedules. When you were doing the 22-24 episode series, that tended to be the actor's main job year round, other work tended to be smaller stuff. It's why you get some TV actors getting tired of the roles after years in them since they do nothing else all year round.

They could probably get a whole episode out of the nautical tranny anal buttfuck like they did with the crust episode.

IMG_1622.jpg - 1024x576, 24.85K

That is neither "tranny" nor anal.

I expect they will remove this sex scene. The goal is to make Abby sympathetic again, so she shouldn't be a homewrecker on top of being Joel's killer.
At most, she will *kiss* Owen and then go "Ugh, I shouldn't have done that"

What's the hurry? There's many shows to watch.
It is very rare that there's not a single show airing that I'm watching.

Gross
I think I read somewhere that Emma was very self conscious about them.

you're right but at the same time waiting 2 or 3 years for a new season is fucking whack

freckles

Dropped

This. When shows were on regular commercial TV, you’d have one episode a week and the ratings would come out. Network would know by end of the season if they would continue it. Add on TV actors were signed on to multiple seasons

Incel doesn't know you can fuck a girl from behind in the vagoo

Lmao

Tom Welling pretty much got burnt out of acting after Smallville. He was working almost 17 hour days since the entire show was focused on him and had to be in almost all the scenes

TV actors were signed on to multiple seasons

that's still the case. but TV is more expensive and you tend to either have a hit or a flop with no middle ground.

Most TV shows are flops. Rarely would a TV show pilot even get picked up. And most shows don’t make it past the first or second season. David Duchovny when he did the pilot for the X Files never thought the show would actually get picked up and when it did he didn’t think it’d last more than a season. Jennifer Aniston didn’t think Friends would get picked up or last a season so she committed to another show which luckily dropped her when Friends picked up

This IP has the worst story ever I finally decided it. There is literally no content at all I think there might have been a season of content but they are trying to make it three. This show is just a revenge quest. Why make it any more than it needs to be?

This but the opposite

Well it’s a tranny with a dick so there’s no “vagoo” involved you promiscuous child.

Game of Thrones was once a year. Your argument is retarded and I have instantly ended it

I'm all for these long breaks because it means that a lot of care goes into the shows. I'd rather wait longer if it means getting a good product!

no

there was a two-year gap for GoT between 7 and 8. there were also two two-year gaps for the sopranos.

13 episodes per year was the peak for tv

that wasn't as much the case when there were fewer channels and no internet. plus the fact that shows could be cancelled mid-season or at the pilot stage gave networks more margin for error.

Netflix almost made dumping a whole season in one go the norm, but even without that most shows have to be made a full season at a time instead of production overlapping with a show's first airing.

The main cast were literal who’s. The ones that were known actors showed up either for one or two seasons in a handful of scenes

the only way to do it as a TV show is to make it about the characters and setting not the plot. fortunately Mazin appears to understand that but if you watch it expecting gameplay(?) you're obviously going to be disappointed.

there were also two two-year gaps for the sopranos.

No there wasn't. It was one a year between 1 and 4, and even the longest break after that, between 5 and 6, was 21 months

the worst story ever

play more games
read more books
watch more movies

Then hire literal whos. No one actually cares. Or if you must get big names, lock them down in a contract so they can't fuck off and do five movies in between seasons

Imagine the smell

No one actually cares.

The studio execs absolutely shitting their britches that nobody will watch if they don't cast recognisable names (not to mention they won't get the free extra marketing buzz) do. And their fears aren't entirely unfounded either.

if you must get big names, lock them down in a contract so they can't fuck off and do five movies in between seasons

They're too afraid to do that as well since it will de-incentivize big actors from signing on.

no one actually cares

says guy who clearly cares

larper

Your brain has been raped to oblivion by fake greentexts if you think anyone explaining something on the internet is always claiming to be working in an industry related to whatever they're explaining.

It's fucking embarrassing that these modern """prestige"""" shows have piss poor effects work that wouldn't even fly on low budget shows like Hercules and Xena.

Anyone who brings up Mazin's involvement as a positive is an actual, unironic HBO shill.

Chernoybl was a really good show

such as?

he's doing a good job. gamers just refuse to recognize how mediocre the storytelling in both games was and how much he's already fixed.

the eternaut. Did you see those bugs? Of course you didn't no one watched that netlflix slop

Correct, I didn't, this is a TLOU thread.

netflix

yeah anon that might be the issue right there.

You asked for an example of a prestige show with bad effects you fucking retard. lmao. Holy fuck hbo shills are retarded. They can't even follow their own comments. Consider getting a new job, faggot.

"I'm immune"

"I'm pregnant"

*Agressive Lesbian Fingerbanging sex*

*Wakes up together*

"Eww morning breath"

*Eats beef jerky*

"Mmmm beefy"

*Passionate kissing*

"I'm gonna be a dad!"

Wow fantastic writing

come into TLOU thread to cry about random Netflix show

You could at least have named something on HBO

go into a thread for a specific show and start bitching about TV in general

wow anon you seem pretty cool

desu I'm shocked that they had 90s Trek going nonstop and still managed to make 26 episode seasons with mostly fantastic practical effects in every single one. They can't even make decent looking zombies in slop like The Walking Dead or TLOU.

I actually wanted an example FROM The Last of Us, given you were complaining about prestige show's effects in a thread for The Last of Us, and naturally I assumed you were complaining about effects in The Last of Us.

The makeup effects in the show are good. Sets for stuff like Seattle are also good. Costumes vary, sometimes they're on point but other times they look very pristine (I don't ask that everyone be comically filthy, but even if they have laundry, the clothes themselves are old, they ought to be faded).
The only dodgy effects I see are the occasional greenscreen. Even then I'm sure there are ones I'm not seeing.

season 2 is mostly good but they really fucked up Ellie's reaction to Dina's pregnancy. In the game you could feel Ellie's drive for revenge but in the show it's just

let me hit a pause on that and daydream about having a kid with my waifu

COME ON. It was a good moment on its own but narratively it's fucking shit

This is what happens when you hire women and put them in positions of power.

During networked TV ratings mattered because they relied on advertising. With steaming services they don’t give a fuck, they just need a bunch of shit to fill their site and hopefully one of hundreds of awful programs will be a Stranger Things. Also steamers won’t to appeal to gay critics so can get awards so can use that as a selling point “Netflix got 13 award winning shows”

Yeah that felt really weird.

Oh shit, I shouldn't be letting a pregnant woman risk her life by charging into battle alongside me, this quest just got more complicated

becomes

Haha, let's joke about it and make out and finger for the first time

The implied sex and the pregnancy reveal need to be two different scenes, not awkwardly shuffled together

I'm catching up on the show and on episode 3 now, and I'm really starting to notice how squeaky Bella Ramsey's voice is, she sounds like a little kid. I don't know if it's a side effect of her putting on an American accent but it hurts her being an "adult" now.

did you miss all the streaming services starting ad supported pay grades.

she isn't meant to be an adult. if her and Dina are mature then their actions actually make less sense, its a good example of Mazin changing something in a way that helps the story but incites volcanic rage in the game's playerbase.

Bella raises concerns about it in the final scene and in the teaser for next episode they're talking about it again.

Hahahahaha

She IS an adult
She's 19 and the actress is 21
It isn't a choice to have a voice like a 9 year old, she just has one

Tommy in the game is a roughly 50 year old adult, and he bolts for Seattle seeking revenge, ahead of the others. They somehow still made it work there

the 21yo actor from the show doesn't sound like the 40yo voice actor from the games

sorry I thought you were making a more substantive criticism but really you were just going DIFFERENT IS BAD WHY DOESN'T SHE SOUND LIKE SHE'S MUCH OLDER.

Her singing Take on Me sounded like a child

yeah the writing in the game is extremely shit in lots of ways, as was observed by almost everyone before there was NEW THING BAD to compare it to.

Bella duplicates the in-game performance exactly down to speaking the word "take".

Moner is about the same age and still sounds like an adult, Ramsey doesn't sound like a teenager, she sounds like a kid.

different people sound different. you are correct.

he was larping as someone who knows what he's talking about
kys faggot

I've never really seen criticism of that particular part of Part 2's story, to me it makes a lot of sense for Tommy to want to go and one-man-army the fuck out of his brother's killers/torturers who also pistol whipped him.

I think I read somewhere that Emma was very self conscious about them.

must be true them

Don't let the marketing fool you. None of this shit is prestige. Streaming slop is just the current day incarnation of all those old garbage syndicated shows that no one remembers anymore.

that's literally nothing compared to

well, you're a burden now

yeah I think Mazin wants the characters to remain likeable and their relationship to remain something the audience can invest themselves in. because, you know, he's not a retarded edgelord.

he's dilluting crucial element of the story to appeal to the masses

It’s not enough that they are women, they have to be brown as well.

IMG_3068.png - 1870x2420, 336.66K

her character is 19 in the show and the second game

Careful we've got a FAN

The only thing that is of importance is them being women, child.

Isn't one brown and one has a disability in TLOU?

brown people

Don’t argue with me when I’m agreeing with you, milf.

except for the part where writers have no say in a production schedule but you guys keep being mad and not having sex

Mazin wants the characters to remain likeable and their relationship to remain something the audience can invest themselves in

lol
lmao

Ode to the Must

Sniiiiiiffff—
the air is thick with yeasty must,
a scent of time, of silence, dust.
Grool once fresh now flakes away,
its crusted tale in disarray.

I press inside—
the outer shell, a brittle rind,
but within, a warmth I find.
Mushy depths, decaying bloom,
a musty stench consumes the room.

Fingers slick with curdled fate,
fermented echoes saturate.
In that rot, a truth discussed:
Sniff the must,
Bust the crust,
and Lick the curd,
in grool we trust.

This surely is
the last of us

If Ellie remains likeable throughout, it partially defeats the point of the original story which was about her revenge quest warping her into a monster, and how the ends did not justify the means. Dina is more moral and wholesome and Ellie drifts away from her as she descends into darkness.
Though it looks like the scene where she beats Nora to death is still there, so this aspect should be at least partially intact

What does the schedule have to do with anything besides you weighing over 200lbs and drinking wine from a box?

They’re waiting for the game to be finished

aaaaaah they're having sex!

this is something that I, as a normal person, am alienated by!

because the post claiming this is what happens when you hire women was a direct reply to the OP questioning why it takes 2 years to turnover a season now. there is no doubt in my mind i weigh less than you but keep being retarded

bro you couldn't even force your previous terrible meme after years of trying, and you're trying another?

If a Part 3 game gets made, it's optimistically about another 8 years away. No sense in trying to stretch out the show for that long.

which was about her revenge quest warping her into a monster

the story is about her realizing the revenge quest is warping her into a monster and pulling back from the brink. the destination of the story is forgiveness not successful revenge.

Neil Druckmann doesn't understand setup and payoff so he just made her into Joel 2.0 and had her kill the population of Staten Island on the way to not-kill Abby, which was roundly ridiculed when the game was released. Mazin is actually working to fix the balance of the story, which means he has to change things, which means he can't win because you are now used to a version of the story which didn't even work and resist any alterations.

if HBO wants a 4th season they will forge ahead without a game source. if they wouldnt wait for GRRM they sure as hell wont wait for cuckman

it's optimistically about another 8 years away.

Don't worry they'll only just be starting on production for Season 3 by then

they could do the GoT thing of the show outpacing the source material.

One must try. We have to bust the crust.

That’s just to add more reverie but not dependent on it. Where network TV advertisers pay more for programs that have higher viewers. In fact networks have to refund advertisers if the show doesn’t get the projected viewers that adviser is paying for

Do you though? Are you that incredibly obsessed with talking about shit?

looks like Hazel Moore

Moner is effortlessly charming in this show. Makes a way bigger impression than Dina in the game, who was very bland.

They theoretically could do that, but the writers and showrunners have made explicit statements that they don't intend to go past the games' story, that for now they will adapt the Part 2 material and that's it.
If HBO heavily pressured them I suppose they could do something like a Joel/Tommy prequel, but whatever comes after Part 2 is off limits (or should be).

lol once you sell your IP its over they can do whatever they want with it

Someone has to put the reality of homosexual encounters in perspective. Imagine not using Vagiclean for days, and the next moment scissoring your girlfriend. Making yeasty curd which dries into flakes but still is gooey on the inside because of the warmth of the human body. The dried flakes turn into powder because of violent fingering and fill the room with a sour smell.

the fuck are you talking about? Game was released five years ago. Season 3 will cover the rest of part 2

it'll start to affect streaming service behavior becausethey can't hide audience data from advertisers like they can the media. over time there will be research into how much actual attention ads on streaming TV get and that WILL feed back into what gets made. no one is going to pay premium rates for ads on playlist slop that only airs when people fall asleep in front of their TVs.

An alternate version of Left Behind, starring Hazel Moore as Ellie and Kira Noir as Riley

Now imagine if we had a human looking Ellie as well

on the way to not-kill Abby

the whole first game is a journey to make the cure but in the end they don't make it. Fucking hack writing

that's how you sound

Intergalactic will be another Concord level embarrassment and that's the end of the road for Naughty Dog.

The chopped of crust

there is no doubt in my mind i weigh less than you

Well you’re supposed to because you are either a woman or woman brained because you instantly jumped to ad hominem instead of addressing the argument.

Can’t have that anon, sorry.

True. Why I wasn’t completely against ads, maybe get streamers to put out shit people want to watch

Eh, I like retrofuturistic stuff so I'm cautiously optimistic about it.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare turned out to be pretty good, as CoDs go, and didn't end the series or the developer. YouTube dislikes don't have as much power as you think

it's an unusual situation because

1) Druckmann is mentally subservient to Mazin and does not regard himself as being as good a writer.
2) Druckmann has a motivation to ask Mazin for advice on the game's story before its released.
3) Druckmann is also on record as loving the show's cast (sorry guys) so he has a motivation to want to keep everyone coming back.

all that has to happen is for Druckmann to share everything they're doing at Naughty Dog with Mazin in real time, in the name of making sure the game and show match in terms of the general plot. it's also in the IP's interest as a whole.

its not a situaton like GoT where GRRM gave D&D cliff notes and they exaggerated their own ability to arrive at the same conclusion without writing nonsensical garbage. instead Druckmann is the one who needs help making a story work from the TV writer.

you don't realize that you're making the argument against yourself.

in Part 1 players all wanted Ellie to live so the ending did work.
in Part 2 players either wanted Ellie to kill Abby or felt like they were being manipulated into not wanting her to, so the ending didn't fucking work.

Mazin has to alter the story to prevent the issues which led to Part 2's ending not working. characters (both Ellie and Abby) being more sympathetic is part of that: a show connects with the audience via its characters. in games you simply don't need this to the same extent because you can just have more pew pew shooting segments to hold your attention.

what the holy fuck are you talking about. i literally answered your question which you conveniently decided to ignore in your haste to greentext. there was no argument

in Part 2 players either wanted Ellie to kill Abby or felt like they were being manipulated into not wanting her to, so the ending didn't fucking work.

that's a minority of players who felt that. You should really leave chudosphere

I think some other anon dipped and you clicked on me because I don’t know what you’re talking about.

*carries your show*

Can't believe they caught a real, live Neanderthal on film while shooting her scene.

Potato fetish.

I know that stride...

Supernatural kept up a cycle of 20 episodes a season, 1 season a year, every year, for 15 years. And for 5 of those years it was actually very good.

only fujos like Supernatural

It was the ONLY proper modern successor to sci-fi/horror/fantasy episodic shows like X-Files

Nah

Shows like House or Friends could pump out 20 episodes a year because 90% of the cast were main stays and they used the same set in every episode, not defending nu-hollywood but there’s obvious reasons

yeah thats what happened. just concede your loss and own mental retardation and we can move past this

condense the superior 1st game into 1 season

stretch the inferior 2nd game into 3 seasons

sounds about right

reality of homosexual encounters in perspective

This is just sexual encounters in general. Humans are filthy. Any time you have sex that isn't practically immediately after a shower or bath, you're forced to come to terms with just how disgusting people are. When you're in a relationship you can overlook (within reason, and everyone has different limits) some of the nastiness in favor of fucking on the couch right after work or in the tent while camping.

Indeed.
Something rarely acknowledged on this board is that Bill and Frank had both showered shortly or immediately before they got in bed together. There may not really have been any crust to bust

Make TLOU show

Cast a claymation figure for your lead actress

Cast a hottie for her lesbo sidekick

Cast another hottie for the villainess

Why couldn't they go 3/3 instead of 2/3?

Wait, that's a tattoo? I thought it was like make up or glitter or something

Usually it is either done with makeup, or with a phone filter. Haven't heard of a permanent tattoo.
See example on Malina Weissman's plainer sister, the very obviously painted on freckles across the nose.

weissmans.jpg - 1080x1080, 111.95K

Are either of those lips real?

Pic related is you.

At first I thought it was makeup too, but if you look up different pics and videos of Demi Hawks, she has the exact same pattern of "freckles" every time. They are fake tattooed ones

I thought it was just using make up to emphasize natural freckles, weird then to choose to permanently tattoo those 3 under the nose

It's a reasonable question

Malina's are, Ayla's are not. While it's easy to confirm with older pics where Malina has the same big lips even as a kid, while Ayla had thin lips before, it's actually easy to tell by looking at the shape, especially the corners of the mouth. On Malina's you can see they taper into a concave shape, as lips naturally do. On Ayla, you can see they seem to bulge out at the mouth corners instead, a sign of lip fillers. Obviously, mouth shapes are different, but even on big thick lips you'll find they tend to taper in at the corners.

Very obvious in this pic. Even accounting for lipstick, the shape difference is clear for both. Even if you don't know about this specifically, I think you do notice it on some level and that's one reason why fake lips are always obvious to people.

How much CRUST will be in season 3?

For a jackass perhaps.

And frankly, to be a little shallow, Ayla Weissman just looks like the sort of girl who would get lip fillers doesn't she?

Game of Thrones took even longer to shoot a season than that though. HBO obviously wants the "blockbuster" treatment for these shows.
