Where, among other issues, Tommy barely seems to care that his brother was murdered, and seemingly all of his vengeful drive and initiative has been removed and shifted to Dina. In the game it's compelling and badass that Tommy bolts for Seattle ahead of anyone else and you are following his path of destruction, but in the show he has seemingly been reduced to a "responsible adult" who will try to stop and rein in Ellie which is fucking lame

I loved death stranding even after people called it artsy crap and decided to play the last of us 2 just to see it for myself. It's honestly really bad and not worth it's time or even for a laugh. The issue is how bad it's written. You have some gold like the "bigot sandwich" but outside of that it's just bad teenage melodrama. Why should I care about this lesbian love triangle? I don't care for jessie, dina or anyone really. Ellie's new design was bad as they manned her up so she looked "right" next to dina and honestly there's nothing interesting in that game besides joel getting golf clubbed. I dropped the series after the bullshit time jump in the first game. I don't feel like I've missed anything, overhyped shit franchise, be it tv or gayming.

The show is just intimidating without Joel. Joel is that kind pillow man who makes the degeneracy feel survivable. The show with Ellie and Dina is way too scary and uncomfy. Its near impossible to find that realism line where it doesn't feel girlbossy but also they don't actually get raped.

Also, the characters aren't fun enough, you don't really feel like spending years watching just her. In the games, Joel is gone but its just more palatable because you just say fuck this and just keep going until the end. The TV version is hobbled because we know the ending if someone got angry and just read what it is after Joel died and said oh fuck that they aren't a viewer anymore.

They should have at least kept people strung along by making the first four episodes Abby centric and also casted Abby to be an actual athlete. Then there is a chance they could have made you like Abby and the audience could choose sides about who deserves to survive and it would be fun.
