Last act of Barbarian shits the bed, really dumb and poorly directed (which is weird, most of the film is well done, but the last third feels completely rushed), hopefully this is better.
It is supposedly structured like an ensemble Altman movie which is interesting for a horror movie. The title makes me think it's gonna be some government MKUltra experiment on children thing, but also the title of Barbarian barely made sense so it might really be anything.

Also the whole scene where the homeless black guy in the church says "she won't come in here I've been here for X amount of years" and she just breaks through and kills him was cheesy as hell. It was meant to be cheesy cause Cregger was trying to do the Peele thing where the horror is taken seriously most of the time but there's random comedic shit in it. I would say it's Sam Raimi, but Sam Raimi is more obviously comedic, the wave on which Cregger is riding is more like "post-irony" shit where the line between horror and comedy is blurred. That doesn't excuse that the last act is just poorly filmed and edited.
