Where are all the quirky quotable lines and funny memes for these movies?
Where are all the quirky quotable lines and funny memes for these movies?
THEY MEME NOW?
Somehow OP returned
all the memes are from RoS which is easily the worst. just goes to show that memeworthy != good.
TFA is a decade old, I was told kids that grew up with it would start going online and proving us chuds how it's a great movie actually, and that the ST would be beloved just like the prequels are? What happened, bros?
they fly now
Honestly that redeemed the whole trilogy. Ytpipo seem to win at hilarious racism even when they're not trying to be racist. They just can't help themselfs.
The kids saw the prequels in theaters and realized that despite it's flaws, a film trilogy that's a passion project of a single mind will always be more interesting than corporate slop. They all saw Episode 3 and shat their pants realizing all the potential they missed out on in Ep 7-9.
TLJ had ben swollow and the milk scene in terms of memes that also make fun of how shit the movie was, TFA is probably the only one of those movies that has a meme that wasn't blatanty making fun of it with the traitor guy and even then how knows how much of it was Disney marketing vs people actually posting it
Prequels aren't loved. Give it a few more years and the sequels will be. It's that simple.
SOMEHOW
never heard a millennial nor zoomer say a bad thing about them before reddit letter media
Yes you did. They were critical and commercial failures. Natalie Hershlag's career almost died because of them.
To be fair Star Wars is notorious for killing the careers of everyone who takes part in those movies.
Mike is a walking talking example of Dunning–Kruger.
It had a few. Somehow, Palatine has returned... They fly now.... Finn screaming Rey every time he's on screen... The Sacred Jedi text... the swole Kylo Ren one... the stormtrooper that called Finn a traitor.. maybe that stupid Rose Tico quote about how they are going to win by saving what they love and you see the door to their base get blown up. There might be more
In no way were they commercial failures. Even the lowest earning one, Attack of the Clones, made roughly six times the budget back, and they all made over a billion dollars in today's dollars. Even in 2015 dollars, the year TFA came out, two of them cleared a billion, while Attack of the Clones was not far behind
Star Wars has been undeniably ruined for 5 years now
It's been ruined for a decade
Four decades, actually
A good question for another time.
Give it a few more years
It's been a decade since TFA, 8 years since TLJ. Tick tock, retard.
commercial failures
Are you retarded or merely pretending?
didn't kill Harrison Ford's
didn't kill Ewan McGregor's
didn't kill Natalie Portman's
didn't kill Keira Knightley's
didn't kill Samuel Jackson's
didn't kill Terence Stamp's
PrequelGODs we can't stop winning
Normalfags were trying to push
Amazing, everything you just said was wrong
for months
MUH RLM MADE EVERYONE HATE THE PREQUELS
Hey look, the Rotten Tomatoes score for The Phantom Menace was only 62% back in 2005: web.archive.org
Hey look, the audience score for AOTC was actually worse before the RLM review: web.archive.org
Hey look, here's a Mad TV sketch from 2001 (imdb.com
Hey look, here's a Simpsons episode from 2004 mocking "Jim Jam Bonks" and how boring the prequels are: simpsons.fandom.com
Hey look, Roger Ebert gave AOTC 2/4 stars back when it came out: rogerebert.com
Now you will instantly pivot from "EVERYONE LOVED THE PREQUELS" to "EVERYONE WHO HATED THEM IS A NECKBEARD," just like a good little delusional Prequelshill.
Zoomers don't understand the concept that their precious baby movies are the worst shit this franchise has ever seen.
WHERE ARE MUH EPIC MAYMAYS?!
I hate prequel faggots so much.
Ok sequel defender
DEY HEAH
were there always this many star wars posts?
The sequels are objectively better than the prequels. Better RT scores, better fan reception, more profit.
Bodies that freak
It’s probably just bias and nostalgia but all the prequel meme lines feel fun and endearing, while the sequel lines real feel frustrating and stupid. Like both of those examples are funny because of how poorly integrated they are. They aren’t going to tell us how Palpatine came back and flying now has been unimpressive in universe since both those characters were even in born
I dislike the Sequels too, but that doesn't mean the Prequels are suddenly good. There's a reason that Prequelfags have to say shit like "UR AN RLM SHILL!" or "UR A DISNEY SHILL!" instead of making actual arguments.
They don't seem to realize that all the Prequel memes come from the Prequels being hilariously over-the-top moronic. The Sequels don't have memes because the Sequels are bad in a different way; they're boring as shit.
It doesn't matter if you dislike the sequels. The prequels are worse by any obejctive margin. I genuinely have been wishing for George to get murdered since TPM.
i remember Anon Babble liking that one 'TRAITOR!' Stormtrooper a lot, and i had my doubts as to how organic it was. forced memes have always been a thing, and there's no doubt writers are trying more than ever to go for that.
but that was the first time Anon Babble felt a bit off. like, this might actually be some astroturfing thing. people paid to do guerilla marketing on message boards. i don't know if i'm just cynical or some kind of conspiracy nut. chances are it was just a few teenagers latching on to something. but there's that seed planted in my brain.
i like the prequels for their visual/set design, music, and special effects. i know CGI is 'bad' now, but at one point it was new and groundbreaking and all that stuff. Jar Jar is annoying as fuck, but they had an actual Roger Rabbit 3D alien thing walking around and talking with real actors. that shit was amazing, once.
I genuinely have been wishing for George to get murdered since TPM.
least deranged prequels hater
hilariously over-the-top moronic
campy*
I genuinely have been wishing for George to get murdered since TPM.
Mike pls go
I saw Revenge of the Sith last Friday in theaters. Entire cinema was packed and there was everything from oldfags to children in there. People were even sitting in the cursed front row and it's assigned seating.
I'm willing to bet the limited showing of RotS this weekend makes more than Snow White.
seeing it the first time around is my fondest cinema memory. i'm a Britfag and it was the 2000s so the whole 'audience getting involved' thing didn't exist here (besides dickhead teenagers)
BUT the place was packed and it was electric. i think people forget what pure spectacle is like. it's like a cool rave or a gig or something, even if the music is generic shite panned by critics. a friend with a slightly fancier flip phone recorded the final duel on his phone, shit was so cash.
Rotten Tomatoes rated The Force Awakens above A New Hope and RoTJ
Grim.
very nice takedown anon
you have to consider ratings inflation. Rotten Tomatoes considers Hook a bad film. meanwhile, any middle-of-the-road 'yeah, that was fine' Marvel movie gets 80%+.
