Nosferatu 2024

Finally watched the 4K bluray and holy shit. CINEMA.

Eggers keeps on bringing the best of the best of modern day cinema. Every scene was beautifully setup, like a painting. Amazing cast, Dafoe rocks and it seems all of Stellan's sons are all incredibly talented actors, two of them can play viking guy and one can do good Dracula performance, well done Mr Chernobyl man.

Then i literally, yes literally ejaculated to the gothic design when Hoult's character arrives at the Bohemia and meets the gypsies and you can see Orlok's castle. I think that scene was perfection.

This movie overall is a cinephiles wet dream. It's like the makers are constantly jerking themselves over some minor details while knowing there are maybe 3 people in the entire world who will notice that very specific detail and appreciate it. Movie also holds up on rewatches thanks to this. You will notice how much soul was put in to it on every rewatch, because you will notice another detail in the beautifully crafted scene that the movie is full of.

invents bone chilling slow burn horror

creates video game cinematography

composes oner shots

conceives Eggersian color theory

innovates historical aesthetic realism

designs the Egger-oner

pioneers folkloric surrealism

revolutionizes grimdark lighting

I left the kinoplex when Nosferatu looked straight at the camera and said: -"I waaant to suuuuck your bloooood, bleh."

I usually have a movie night with my dad and on most cases he might fall asleep since it's late. but he stayed wide awake for the whole Extended cut of Nosferatu. It shows that the slow burn but tense horror is a real thing and Eggers succeeds at it.

cool

Yeah it looks nice but it's an absolute chore to watch.
The movie would (and shoud) have been 45 mins shorter if Orlock didn't speak so bloody slowly.

Peak kino, maybe eggers best overall. It’s too kino for this shit board and filtered most of the retards here

Mediocre flick. You should invest in a little taste, buddy.

cinephiles

I spit on you if you call yourself that, philistine.

It was great. I didn't think it was as good as Lighthouse or Witch but I liked it better than Northman which I thought was just good more than "great". I was really worried her husband was going to be dead or mostly out of the movie after he went to the castle but I was pleasantly surprised how much agency they gave him after that and how determined and brave he was.

Willem Dafoe openly supports cinephiles, he knows more about films than you therefore it's ok term to use.

It’s too kino for this shit board and filtered most of the retards here

this will attract the posers who actually have no taste and must try their hardest to fit in

It was an easy watch but he forgot the scares

It's cringe and I don't care what the Green Goblin says.
Simple task: Break down the moral implications of the movie's ending within the worldview its characters hold.

Making Orlok articulate and seductive is just reverse-engineering Dracula from Nosferatu. It should have just been a Dracula treatment.

articulate and seductive

How on earth did you get that impression from this movie?

It should have just been a Dracula treatment.

It was in all but name except unlike Coppola's, a symbolist painting come to life, Eggers made it a dull turd for self-proclaimed cinephile types.

I've seen most of the vampire stuff of the last 40 years and this is the worst.

Orlok in the original is a freakish goblin man who acts like a sewer creature. If you're writing a film where he's talking his way into fucking and sucking then you're essentially turning him back into Dracula

You're either a retard influenced by Internet shit or you haven't actually seen the movie. He's a rotting husk kept alive with evil and human blood, there's nothing appealing about him. He's the sane as Max Schreck's in that way

Oh cool so you didn't see it.

Imagine liking this trash. Calling it masturbatory is an understatement, almost.

It's cringe and I don't care what the Green Goblin says.

and here's a list of people who cares what you say

and lets not forget

we discussed this flick to death when the first yify rip came out, eggers tries too hard and all his stuff is mid now.

I'm pretty sure all of his shit is written by an AI

Why didn't he sign the papers at the gate

I don't dislike Eggers but Nosferatu is shit and you need to watch better movies. Get off the American movie reservation every now and then for fuck's sake.

someone isn't shitting on new movie 24/7 means it must be written by an AI

ok bro

does this show contain unnecessary sex scenes and other waste of film segments?

horror for Netflix enjoyers

I don't think they're unnecessary, no.

I too enjoyed this film

It was way too much.
The 1970s Herzog version was more restrained and a lot better for it.
Everything in Eggers's version was turned up to 11 and that isn't a compliment. It didn't know how to pull back and let stuff just stand for itself, and instead overwhelmed to the point of tastelessness.

The change that was good, was the expanding of the role of the Doctor. Until he also went too far over the top as well.

Orlock isn't seductive.
He talks like a backfiring engine.
