OP here, that's the reason Legendary got the go(cheaper fees) to use him for a Monsterverse film, still a "Toho Monster" but not a big name that if people hate it wont damage the brand(Toho's side).
Bagan's powers start messing with the Hollow Earth's gravity, leading to Kong having to come out and help Godzilla.
Legendary is too integrated into the Godzilla brand now since Toho was retarded enough to include all merch rights to Godzilla in their original deal and they only recently got those back. That's why there's such a big international marketing push for Godzilla and why he's such a whore for crossovers now.

Most likely a several year gap in the release and a return to Solo films. The reason Godzilla and Kong keep teaming up is because it makes more money than just a Kong movie or a Godzilla movie.

Like Toho blocked IDW from using Godzilla in crossover events like Mars Attacks and Infestation 2 pre-2014, but now he's rematching Marvel, getting some time with Gamera and Ultraman in phone games or Gigabash, and fighting the DC Universe, Power Rangers, Dave the Diver, the Great Gatsby, Dracula, Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes, Fortnite, Cthulhu, Fall Guys, Super Monkey Ball, Hatsune Miku, and a bunch of other video game crossovers I'm probably missing that Toho is doing instead of making an actual console game.

Only one I can think of is Ghost Godzilla since that was the original plan for Destroyah but it wouldn't make sense for Legendary since Godzilla is good here.
