personally, when i see "diversity" for obvious "diversity's" sake, i know it's going to be in poor quality (along with including real world politics, which takes you out of the show entirely). the two go hand in hand in almost all instances, since the people pushing it aren't known for their creativity.
i don't mind realistic diversity to the source material. in fact, i prefer a diverse story: the original hobbit and lord of the rings are very diverse stories.

I was waiting for it to be cancelled so I could hate-watch it, like I did with Netflix's remake of Cowboy Bebop.
You know what, you kinda got me. I can't, but that's because I watched basically nothing that came out in 2024 is except season 3 of Resident Alien (which was good). Going through lists on Google and IMDB to see what came out and it all looks like shit. Truly a depressing experience.
That said I also have a system where I just don't watch anything as it comes out and instead watch for the things people are still talking about being good years down the track and watch that stuff. I didn't watch The Office or Parks and Rec until Covid.
