Season one of LOST is the peak of network tv kino and will never be surpassed
undeniably
agreed
i honestly feel bad for zoomers that they'll never experience anything like that
Lost was so good. I can't find any shows like it...
Watched it with someone that never saw it when it aired.
Without all the hype, tie ins, and wild internet speculation, it doesn't actually get that good until they begin discovering the other hatches. They also heavily rely on the stupid story telling technique that was popular back then of creating story and drama because people refuse to talk to each other.
name, you just have pleb taste, season one is cinematic gold
S01 is the only really good one IMO. S02 and S03 are good too as long as you skip all the flashbacks and all scenes with Kate in them. I don't mean that to trash the show, they're almost as good as S01 when you just stay on the island and can focus on the mystery instead of getting bogged down in endless soap opera drama. There's no coming back from the S03 finale though. That's always where I nope out on rewatches.
*of FROM
you never forget your first mystery box
All of LOST is good.
there a literally tons of rip-offs.
try From, Severance, Yellowjackets.
also numerous failed derivative series'.
There's no coming back from the S03 finale though.
that was one of the peak moments of the show though.
it does go downhill from there, but that shit was good.
Yeah it was the best disaster movie in one episode
Get
The lost Pilot is easily one of the best episode(s) of television I've ever seen. I love how the title of the episode also is the ending of it too with the pilot being literally killed by the monster.
I love how the title of the episode also is the ending of it too with the pilot being literally killed by the monster.
Yeah i guess that's sort of interesting.
but you know they just call pilots that because that's when they go "on-air" right?
I know that, but it felt like they were also being clever with the title since the entire plot of the pilot is them.... going to find the cockpit and finding the pilot....
yeah, i guess.
but it's not like they had a choice.
those are all shit though, moron
fucking morons
hey, youre not very nice.
i agree that theyre all inferior.
but severance and from are decent shows.
what's moronic about this exactly?
Heroes was pretty gud
Not sure ehow well it holds up
it was and is shit.
Heroes could have been great if the showrunner wasn't Tim Kring. He completely drops the ball with the Season 1 finale and the show just plummets from there. Blaming the writer's strike for Season 2 is cope, the show was always going to be trash because Kring is a retard.
this
they just call pilots that because that's when they go "on-air" right?
and this
but it's not like they had a choice
retard, that is why they call them pilots and yes, almost all tv series do this.
they call them pilots because it's a test, you dumb fuck, like a pilot study, you fucking moron
do you even know what a tv pilot is?
no dumbass,
The television term “pilot” is inspired by the aviation industry, given it's the first time a show lifts off or "airs." Like an airline pilot operating a plane, these episodes steer their respective series, establishing the tone, characters, and other essential aspects of the program. Similarly in the research field, “pilot studies” are small-scale, usually private studies designed to determine the long-term feasibility of a project.
you're a fucking retard
most pilots DON'T go on the air, you fucking mouth-breather, that's why they make them, so they can see if they're worth turning into a series, you fucking zoomer
dumbass, it's the idea that the pilot is guiding it /to/ the air. that's what pilots are for.
have to go to bed as a kid before the second half because it's a school night
parents tell me next morning that the literal pilot gets sucked out a window and eaten by a monster
I was so pissed that I wasn't allowed to see it.
The word 'pilot' itself comes from the greek word 'pēdon', meaning 'oar' or 'rudder'. Throughout time it evolved and became the word 'pilot' in the 1600's, referring to the person that controls the oars or rudder of a ship. In this sense, the term 'pilot' can be taken to mean that the episodes intent is to guide the rest of the show.
they just call pilots that because that's when they go "on-air" right?
NTA but nice goalpost shift
not a goalpost shift retard.
it's the same idea.
and it's appropriate for television, which is probably why it's so uniform there in particular.
fucking moron
kill yourself retard, i was right.
if it doesnt make it to the air it was a shitty pilot.
get it? dumbass of course you dont.
The term "pilot episode" in television comes from the scientific and research world, where "pilot studies" are small-scale tests used to determine the feasibility of a larger project, similar to how a pilot episode tests the viability of a full series.
hurrrrr no it coz a pilot go on da air durrrrrrrr
you're a fucking moron
hey dumbass, tv is "on air".
an expression that was even more popular in the particular time when the tradition started.
you're actually mentally retarded
we know what on the air means, moron
youre a retard.
also poor and ugly.
No, that was a goalpost shift. You completely changed your argument and the one you changed it to is almost as dumb.
they use it for tv in particular.
i literally didnt retard.
the pilot guides the show to air.
it's simple.
it's because of "on air" and the tradition of the word pilot. like pilot light.
Even with the S1 filler it is good
they just call pilots that because that's when they go "on-air" right?
that's literally what it is though, you retard.
a pilot is the ONLY type of tv episode that is likely NOT to go on the air, you dumb fucking zoomer, by your retarded reasoning every episode except a pilot should be called a pilot
tradition
you mean the fucking definition of the word pilot? you dumb fuck?
dumbass, anyone can be a pilot, but if he's not properly trained the plane crashes.
do you not get the metaphor?
youre retarded.

ew.com
take it up with entertainment weekly.
The term tv pilot comes from the concept of a "pilot program".
but pilot program comes from the same place pilot light comes from.
and there is a reason why they use it so often for television, it was appropriate for going on air.
but pilot program comes from the same place pilot light comes from.
Which is?
S02 > S01 >S03 >S0GARBAGE
the word pilot dumbass.
“pilotte” come from Latin “pilum". because they had the steer stick
Season 2 introduced us to Ben Linus & season 3 revealed that he was the mastermind of the others.
That was the golden age of Lost.
I'm halfway through season 3 and I feel like I can't keep watching. Pretty much all the characters are irredeemable retards and so much of the plot relies on people being retarded. They either don't kill the right people or kill the wrong people all the time. Everyone is a total fucking prick even when it makes no sense to be one yet there are never real consequences for it. I just hate how this show tries to present the characters as loveable or charismatic or something but everything they do and say is telling me the opposite.
S2 season finale was peak, it went downhill from there.
What does that have to do with a pilot light?
do you know what a pilot light is?
It's under a water heater.
think about what it does.
it's the same idea. it guides and powers a bigger system.
it's the same idea. it guides and powers a bigger system.
No, the pilot light doesn't guide and power anything. It HEATS. More specifically it maintains heat.
youre literally a retard.
has your pilot light ever gone out?
A pilot light is a small gas flame, usually natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas, which serves as an ignition source for a more powerful gas burner.
has your pilot light ever gone out?
Yes. It happens. I had a flood in my basement and it went out. What the fuck are you talking about you fucking autist?
A pilot light is a small gas flame, usually natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas, which serves as an ignition source for a more powerful gas burner.
Again, not powering or guiding it.
dumbass.
the system that relies on it stops working if the pilot light goes out.
you dont even know what words mean.
the system that relies on it stops working if the pilot light goes out.
There are lots of essential components to a water heater, not just the pilot light. But the GAS from the GAS LINE is what powers it. The pilot light is just another component of it and in no way has any association with a TV pilot.
youre literally a retard.
the only association between the tv pilot and pilot light is the word pilot. same with pilot study.
pilot was just appropriate for going "on air" which is why it stuck.
the pilot light is a little thing that does a lot. think of it like that.
The pilot light is a constant ignition source, ready to ignite the main burner whenever the device is activated.
sounds important.
pilot was just appropriate for going "on air" which is why it stuck.
But not all pilots go on air...in fact the opposite is true.
You are so retarded and it's funny how you gave up on the water heater arguments that you lost so badly.
the pilot light is a little thing that does a lot.
So this is your current definition? There are lots of parts of a water heater that are little things that do a lot.
>But the GAS from the GAS LINE is what powers it
yeah and the engines fly the plane, but who is responsible for the engines?
But not all pilots go on air...in fact the opposite is true.
dumbass.
not all pilots make to air either if they crash their plane.
the idea is that the pilot makes it to air and stays on the air.
youre literally a fucking retard.
sounds important.
I never said it wasn't. But for a water heater to work properly every component has to be in working order, making every component important. The water valve is important too. As are the pipes that are linked to your sinks and shower.
youre literally a retard.
see
not all pilots make to air either if they crash their plane.
So to you pilots are crashing their planes on the ground....? Bro, STOP.
the idea is that the pilot makes it to air and stays on the air.
Wrong. They can make 10 pilots knowing that they will only choose 2 of them.
So to you pilots are crashing their planes on the ground....? Bro, STOP.
youre literally a retard.
i swear to God.
that's where planes crash, on to the ground.
the idea was to make it to air.
god youre stupid.
yeah and the engines fly the plane, but who is responsible for the engines?
Engineers and maintenance guys on the ground. The pilot flies the plane. If an engine goes out, he makes adjustments and flies/lands with 1 less engine than he took off with.
that's where planes crash, on to the ground.
You said "not all pilots make to AIR". They can't crash if they aren't in the AIR.
while the plane is going to the air, it's on the pilot.
that's the metaphor.
god youre stupid.
it's not flying if it crashed.
while the plane is going to the air, it's on the pilot.
that's the metaphor.
Sure thing. You already lost the water heater argument, so what else you say is nonsense.
it's not flying if it crashed.
So a plane sitting on the runway is crashed...? I'll say it again, STOP.
no i didnt you literal retard.
you lost every argument so far.
no the plane is either waiting to take off or crash.
you lost every argument so far.
You're the one who had to keep changing your definitions.
no the plane is either waiting to take off or crash.
Again, STOP.
youre literally an illiterate retard.
you think the pilot flies the plane like he's corporally attached to the vehicle.
he's like the pilot light.
the engines are your gas lines etc.
i destroyed you on this.
have you been living under a rock ?
i miss the 2000s because it was devoid of dumbshit fuckhead newfag abortion rejects shitting up EVERY THREAD THEY TOUCH FOR HOURS WITH THEIR INCESSANT IMMATURE NEWFAGGOTRY
God I hated the Jack tattoo episode
