I think the racial issue could be an interesting bit of worldbuilding, not the central focus of the story though. The thing about Blade is that he's half human, half vampire and isn't accepted by either community. Agent K being called a fucking skinjob in BR 2049 is a neat little moment that showcases how people see him and his kind in that world.
