It's a namond gets humiliated by michael and takes it out on dukie episode
I couldn't imagine revisiting Season 4, didn't give one single fuck about the kids at all
Blank people names are always either some absolutely ridiculous shit that isn’t even a name or it’s just like “Michael.” There’s no in between. It’s all Michaels ands Lunestas
it’s a Dukie finally stands up for himself and gets his ass beat episode
its a dukie becomes a heroin addict with zero hope before the time he turns 18 episode
Spider was a fucking asshole and really had it out for Dukie for some reason
it's a randy's home gets firebombed episode
There’s no in between.
The ones that put "La" or "De" in front of any name
Dukie was the most tragic character in the entire series. There was flat-out no hope for him at all by the ending
It's an obviously and distractingly fake dong scene.
Yeah you posting... like a gump!
shouldn't have snitched
that scene where Dukie comes back to see Prez and gives him a gift but Prez doesn’t realize it’s a cry for help
That's great, Duquan. Thanks!
it's a Namond gives a shitty speech about AIDS in Africa at a debate event and we're supposed to pretend he's not going to chimp out in the future episode
Michael beating the absolute shit out of the little kid
"LOOK AT THAT LIL NIGGA GETTING HIS ASS BEAT"
Namond was never tough and he was always just pretending to be a badass
Where did Bugs’ rich aunt come from?
The niglings were so annoying, writing was so cliche
kek that’s literally all he said. He almost seemed weirded out to see him
Wire threads are always the best
Aside from adopting and raising Dukie, was there really even a chance for the kid?
I created the character of Dukie
Not really. Obviously there is foster care but that would probably fuck him up too. Michael having to skip town really lost any opportunity to have a decent life.
he could have sold the drugs instead of doing them
I just took a dukie
almost half of the cast for this show was raped on Oz
Dukies was softer than Namond, and even then Namond could at least larp like he was hard. Dukie would be definitely robbed and probably fucking dead in his first week of dealing. it's the entire point of the kids storyline - most of them are fucked, and even the ones that have potential to escape can only actually do so if they get lucky.
This board is full of people who were like Dukie as a kid.
Couldn't rape Omar because he'd be taking it willingly.
I always wish Prez took Dukie in. He didn't have kids himself and he truly cared about him like giving him new clothes and feeding him during lunch.
Duquan could've excelled better than Naymond after Bunny did the same for him
Dukie tried selling and Michael had to step in because the guys didn't respect him and wouldn't even talk to him about the count. Fuck Spider btw
I think they were probably thinking of doing that because Dukie was already shown to be smarter than the other kids. Maybe they changed it to Naymond to make it more tragic
it's a Prez shits his pants episode
he was the herc of that crew. except namond was smarter than herc.
herc was stupid like a fox
Time to feast
youtube.com
Its a bug gets buggered episode.
why did Snoop look so shook when Chris killed Michael's dad? she's a fucking psychopath. that's like if Marlo looked shocked seeing it
mfw Poot done cleaned his whole ACK up
he was probably the last hopper I expected, since he was all about not looking like a pussy on the street. I guess once almost all your friends are dead it would change your tune
doesn’t like the single greatest season of television ever created
They had a very effective system in place to avoid drawing attention to themselves and Chris was usually very methodical and professional. Beating some dude to death with his bare hands for seemingly no reason wasn't really part of the plan.
dukie
What because he looks like poop because he's a nigger?
how about you buy eight phones now and then i suck your dick for the next 20 minutes?
would you take that deal?
I could see them deciding not to have Prezbo adopt Dukie because it would seem like a white savior coming in, taking a kid out of the ghetto, and helping the kid achieve his full potential. Naymond is also a bit of a redemption arc for the former cop that takes him in
Prez helping Dukie have clean clothes and shower every day fucked me up. He actually did care for his students and it sucks that Michael had so much baggage that he told him off for trying
I’m of the opinion that the writers think adopting Duke would be a good thing to happen
But instead the white Sharon assistant principal tells Prez to not give a shit and get attached to the kids
Dukie is the new Bubbles, the whole last season leans too hard into the cycle narrative to be honest
He should have done exactly that.
He clearly cared for the kid.
who am i missing?
Dukie is Bubbles
Michael is Omar
Sydnor is McNulty
I'm sure his wife wanted a stinky 20yo nigga in her home
Carver is Colvin
Daniels was set to be Burrell or something like that but decided not to
I doubt the Wire was trying to make a pro-child labor argument but Duquan might literally have been fine if he was just allowed to get a job at that Footlocker with Poot, but he was too young. He could have saved a bit of money, tried to get his GED, etc. He was a smart, responsible kid so it's not crazy to think he could have figured it out.
The only options he had for money were dealing or that extremely suspect junk man who turned him into a junkie. Any legit source of income where hed spend his days around fucntional people would have made so much difference
I kinda wish Michael let him come along.
He was too weak to be a stick up man
not to be a stick up man. just a fresh start elsewhere
I think Michael kind of abandoned his morality toward the end there, after he left his little brother with his family. The earlier Michael would never have shotgunned someone's knee and laughed about it.
It's true that Duquan couldn't come along with him because he wasn't tough enough but Michael also didn't want to help him out in any way. He was severing all his ties with his former life I think. That whole conversation where Duquan asks him whether he remembers something they did together a couple years ago and he says no basically shows he's cut off that whole part of himself.
looks at you like this
what do?
Prez took the assistant principal's words to heart: the kids he teaches are not his kids, and unfortunately there are a lot more Dukies out there. He can't rescue them all, and it's not his job to.
I would suck her dick for 20 minutes instead, and that's what nobody did.
theyre not perfect but they add a greater element to the show that makes it feel fully realized, you have all ranges of socio economic peoples
who beyond Bricks? I know theres at least one more but is there even more than that?
Namond narratively was the best choice cause the 2 poorer and trashier kids who had adult role models, prez and carver, didn't get the luxury of getting rescued by the system. not every adult who wants to help has the means/ability/full blown desire to save these kids
