Hack Snyder didnt undertand that Alan Moore created a Maga in the 80s

Manchild who dresses up to play vigilante beating up people as poor and screwed as him thinking that this will save the world without the ability to see the economic structures that throw the majority under the bus

Extremely racist and classist. Calls minorities and the poor cockroaches, despite being almost a homeless

He idealizes the 1950s as perfection despite having grown up without a father and in a ghetto with a prostitute mother. Basically nostalgia is cope for manchildren

He is obsessed with moral and racial purity almost like a retarded puritan and sees the world in black and white, like an idiot who grew up watching Hollywood garbage

Probably a closet homosexual

He is so racist that he treats as a hero a president who ordered the dropping of atomic bombs on Japan (yellow verms) just to send a warning to the USSR

He's asexual and very much on the side of the working class.

In the comic his journal and the free press is the only hope for "truth" surviving in the world, literally. Its plainly spelled out that eventually the cover up will fade and a new lie will be required and at that point his journel will be essential. What Alan Moore doesnt like, because he is an anarchist wizard, is people using this character to support "truths" and politics he disagrees with. IE you cant use Rorschach to support those politics! NOOOO YOU DONT GET IT HES GROSS AND NASTY L-LIKE YOU GROSS COMIC NERDS!!

beating up people as poor and screwed as him

you mean like the child murderer?

Harry Truman is a hero for killing hundreds of thousands of yellows without having any need for it.

OMG New York!!!!

More than a Maga, he is a typical amerigolem

he's me frfr

I know youre going to hate this but the reason the squid in the comic is necessary is because it transcends irl politics like Harry Truman, who im frankly not even educated on so your reference is lost on me. Dr Manhattan is an American ally, destruction caused by him is political and tied to America, a squid is politically neutral which was the entire point, it would unite people more than a attack from manhattan would, this is the entire point in the comic and youre trying to bait me for being maga, grow up. Alan Moore hates anyone, even you, for not using Rorschach correctly, and he leans into comparing him to comic fans who he also hates. But you dont want to address any of that.

Then why do most people reading the comic side with him?

Rorschach is the main protagonist of Watchmen, you're supposed to like him, even if you don't agree with him.

if Alan Moore actually wanted you to hate him, he wouldn't have put multiple scenes basically spelling out that Rorschach is much more a normal human being than he wants to portray himself as, and all his right wing beliefs are a front of a good man following his view of Justice in a shithole that he hates but can't stop caring about and trying to protect it despite hating it.

character named Rorschach

Different People view him differently

Harry Truman is the president who made the decision to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in order to end WW2. He also set the policy of the West towards the Soviets as "containment". FDR's previous vice president before Truman, Henry Wallace, was a Soviet simp and would have rolled over and given them everything they wanted had he taken over instead of Truman.

Do we think it's possible that the character was intentionally written with a mix of good and bad characteristics and trying to decide if he's "good" or "bad" is reductive and stupid?

Snyder

Moore

fart sniffing boomer

Nonsense. Rorschach was a nuanced avenging angel/retributive justice trope and most of his actions were justified.
"Media literacy" is just a low IQ attempt to politicize entertainment

reminder that alan moore didn't hate people for liking rorschach
he hated people who didn't understand the story for liking the surface level edgy rorschach who wants to see everyone die and doesn't care about anything. At the end of the story, it's only rorschach who goes against ozymandias' plan, only rorschach who's against mass murder for the greater good.
But edgy rorschach fans can't read and don't understand the character.

He is obsessed with racial purity

That's bullshit. Rorschach never makes any racial comments in the comic. The closest reach is that he follows a far right newspaper.

is based, badass and right about everything

Whoops

When he walks down the streets calling people cockroaches, he is clearly talking about people who should not be part of the Murica he idealized in the 1950s.

Everyone understands this, people like rorschach because he died for what he believed in and because they think he was correct. I think it's a very small minority of people who read this and then come away thinking hes good because hes depressed and edgy or something. I have seen way more people rail against that point of view than i've seen people actually express it.

You're a fucking idiot

He uses neurolinguistic programming to destroy a black man's sex life.

Of course, Snyder thought this was literally about being in prison.

This. Rorschach is a man of the people. It's why he's the most popular of the Watchmen.

I never got that, when does he bash innocent people

He uses neurolinguistic programming to destroy a black man's sex life.

What does this even mean. Whose sex life did he ruin?

i don't have the media literacy award soijack but just imagine i have replied to you with it

Why do libshits always auto assume people don't understand characters they disagree with. We understand him just fine, he's a character who's morally correct in standing up against Dr Manhattan.

I think it was a good thing to drop the atomic bomb on Japan.

- Rorschach, age 11

I actually don't think that Rorschach was correct in his final choice, I think Manhattan and Ozymandias were correct. That said, I respect Rorschach for standing up for his principles, and I think most people would find that admirable.

I think it was a good thing to drop the atomic bomb on Japan.

Whoa, I wonder if that's foreshadowing for the comic.

Might be a bot

haha

Snyder, being retarded, got the whole theme wrong because in the movie Rorschach comes across as a totally cool edgy 13 year old hero and Ozymandias comes across as a reptilian.
The point is that the only one who doesn't tolerate the heroism of the most noble and intelligent man in the world is a filthy, inferior little man.

Ozymandias' squid was not just an act of cruelty, but the plan that the world's smartest man created after putting all of humanity's science, art, and modern pop culture together was a ridiculous joke.

The Comedian finally started crying because he had witnessed a part of Ozymandias' plan and couldn't laugh at the joke.

In the movie version, don't even know what the Comedian witnessed that made him cry.
Zack Snyder is shit.

Ozymandias comes across as a reptilian

true, the guy he cast as ozymandias makes a good villain but not a good twist villain. if it was some severe gigachad with a trustworthy face like kurt russel or dolph lundgren, or someone with boyish good looks like princess bride era cary elwes, it would have made for a better movie

In the movie version, don't even know what the Comedian witnessed that made him cry.

another big weakness of the movie

both of these i say as someone who liked the movie, but i liked it more as a visual feast and only worth watching if you've read the comic book and want to see some of the scenes brought to life, which is something it did well. i remember thinking "this must seem like a confusing mess to anyone who hasn't read the comic" and my friend who saw it with me confirmed he was confuesd at times.

alan moore invented vigilantes

jej

Snyder is such a fag it's insufferable. Compare the prison attack with Dan and Laurie in the comics, they're having a conversation as they casually just walk through and beat escaping convicts with minimal effort, then in the movie it's them flipping and slow motion shots of dramatic arm breakings and all that shit. It's meant to be boring to them at this point

Moore is an overrated and pretentious faggot, but Snyder is 9 years old IQ retard that cannot read between lines. He's the kind of guy that sees Mars Attack! as some serious, grim and epic war movie

I would also remark that save for a smattering of non-white characters (and non-white creators) these books and these iconic characters are still very much white supremacist dreams of the master race. In fact, I think that a good argument can be made for D.W. Griffith’s Birth of a Nation as the first American superhero movie, and the point of origin for all those capes and masks.

Alan Moore

Superheroes aren't the KKK, though they share some of the same DNA. Superheroes are just the cowboys and sheriffs of the Old West, transplanted to modern times.

What's wrong with that?

it's wrong because people of color have no superhero role models to look up to so that basically forces them to rob, rape and murder for a living
