Apple TV shows

Apple TV has a very weird formula. All their shows are diverse beyond Netflix, but they're also extremely slow. They stretch a 4-6 episode miniseries into 12 episodes, then spend 3 years inbetween each season. It's worse that Apple shows usually have a really interesting premise, but I've learned to ignore them all.

NCIS but the Australian version. I only saw one episode.
Everything was so fast pace and the story was being narrated to me like I was a child or those fucking Youtube videos where it's some AI voice giving a synopsis of the scene.

both of those are not bad per se, they just got bad, like many shows, after the initial premise went well and the showrunners had no idea where to take it and budget vs ambition breaks down.
I still watch some Blacklist clips or odd episodes because Spader is so fun in it.
I rewatched Dexter a few times over the years, but start skipping whole episodes or big parts of them from S5 or so on.
But no comparison to really bad shows.

Honestly I prefer shows that are shit from the beginning than shows that are amazing then turn shit. Hits like a truck when you think about the potential these shows had if they didn't have retarded showrunners

I think the only Apple show I watched is Slow Horses, and that is really good. 6 episodes to a season, each season based on a book (no idea how loosely). that keeps it tight and focused on the plot, the characters get developed in the plot without exploring every characters home life and "developing their relationships" that take so much momentum from other shows.

The 8th and final season of Fear the Walking Dead, they bring back Madison after like 4 seasons and she's now a bounty hunter who kidnaps children to sell to a shady organization, because they threatened her grown children...who they've never met, seen or had any contact with...oh and they're already dead too but none of them know that.

Goddamn Scorpion broke me. I watched half a lifetime worth of slop. Bones, NCIS, CSI, Mentalist. during my time at university I always had something on in the background while coding or playing videogames or just being hungover.
They usually to have one or two good actors and halfway interesting characters that gave me a comfy feeling and the case of the week was often bullshit, but sometimes it had an interesting premise or good guest stars.
Enough to ignore how much the writers don't know about what they writing about when it comes to laws, procedure, science or tech.
But Scorpion managed to have none of that.
The terminator is old and tired, the main character should have stayed a dothraki extra and these are the most stupid written geniuses ever. Nothing redeeming about this.

This is the worst show i ever watched the entire thing off. I just had to see just how bad it got. Only saving grace was the priest who was kino and the entire driving force of the plot. You could skip 90% of scenes without him and not miss a thing

yes, there are a few examples of external events that derail shows. The Rookie got a full woke makeover after Floyd. Many shows during covid took a visible production hit and it becomes noticable how only 2 people are in the scenes at all times or characters get writtten out temporarily. Bones had an insane season during the wirter's strike, I am sure plenty others had to battle with that.

I was so starved for sherlock kino i convinced myself to like it when it came out. It was only when i went to show it to someone else i realized just how trash it was.
It was a great lesson though, i am more aware of my prejudices now and am a better critic now

I agree with the other anon. They are more zombie than Simpsons. I swear, more than half the episodes are just straight parody episodes now. The show was always cutaway gags and references, but it has gotten so fucking lazy. Take the yellowstone and the bear shit. Too lazy to write a parody or even a proper joke, "people watched this, I haven't, so I can't make a joke about it, that is the joke." And they reused this concept multiple times and keep doing it. The writing was never that good, but come on. And the Emmy shit is tiring. American Dad should get one before you, and even that's a stretch.
