Most religious people who love Dune don't really understand just how antithetical the story is to their own ideas. I mean if you're a Christian or Muslim the story should be read as a complete and utter invalidation of the entirety of you religion. Jesus never returns, there is no battle against the antichrist, Leto II ensures humanity goes on forever rather than ascend to heaven at the end of days and so on. Both Paul and Leto II are unironically worse than the antichrist because at least the antichrist is supposed to eventually lose whereas these guys win.
