An Odyssey movie with THAT cast is a disaster in the making. He's bit off more than he can chew. At the same time Thunderbolts is by far the best MCU movie since IW and it didn’t make much at all. Superman is also hard to gauge, or rather he’s overvalued. It’s definitely riding on Gunn’s charisma. I’d say around The Batman’s numbers 700m-800m, enough to keep moving forward with the DCU.

5 years ago I would’ve been excited for this movie but looking at the trailers and seeing Gunn’s paradigms it just feels exhausting. Main character with daddy’s issues, ragtag team of heroes, most of the “comedy” being spontaneous arguments, token animal. There’s just nothing exceptional, like I already know exactly what’s going to happen. Is anybody else in the same boat?
