Did anyone actually care about the love story aspect of the trilogy

only the first matrix was good

don't (You) me

(you) are right

Of course not but for some reason (((Hollywood))) thinks literally every story needs some gay romance subplot.

Yes. It is key. These movies are about love

yes of course.
further more,
this love story brings back the magic in the matrix world.
so yes.

It's the worst thing in the first movie. I remember juts recently looking up the scene where he blocks smith's punches without paying attention. The clip had the leadup where he dies but comes back because trinity kisses him and i was like wtf i don't remember this being the reason. What the hell does that have to do with all the 'seeing through the nature of reality lets you break its rules' thing. That's complete when a girl kisses you? doesn't fit. Unless, i guess i'd have to rewatch the whole movie and see if it represents something.
But either way they have zero chemistry so that whole aspect just isn't a draw, no

This. Lesbian trans woman love.

For me, Reloaded is unironically peak cinema. Superman has never been done better than Neo

Incredibly forced. Felt like Trinity loved Neo because it was "her destiny" to love Neo. They could've shown much more flirting to make it heartfelt and real. They were in a dead wasteland, there was no human resources department to worry about. Yeah the love story parts were cringe distractions.

yes the romance is the plot

I didn't care about any aspect of the trilogy. Proto-Nolanslop made my proto-troons, with the most wooden actors in Hollywood. One of the most overrated movies of all time.

I don't recall them ever even smiling at each other, like you'd expect a couple deeply in love to do.

The love plot was not tacked on, it was intentional. The whole original trilogy is a complex chess game between Oracle and Architect. The previous five chosen ones all had equal and general love for all humans, and thus they returned to the source and rebooted the matrix. Meanwhile Orcale introduced love into the mix by tricking Trinity into hitting it off with Neo, who took the bait. And that lead to Neo making the selfish choice. Which combined with the Smith epidemic (Smith implying that he himself is a creation of the Oracle), forced the Machines to sit down at the negotiating table.

She's such an icicle that there were no sparks between them. I had to be reminded that there was a romance in the story by this post.

i did not appreciate it

See

My only concern was Neo's ability to get Trinity naked

love story

Morpheus saying to trinity "he's the one, now love him" and to neo "you are the one" is probably how LGBT "people" think love to be

you can be any gender etc.

Forgot about it. But casting androgynous lewks was the point. The romance subplot mitigates suspicions that it's not "about us" for the mainstream. Imagine Matrix was promoted as "allegory of the directors' own transgender feels".

No offence but you sound like a fag

But am I wrong?

love story

you mean the CREEPY RAPE STORY, CHUD? it's an ALLEGORY about how ALL CIS MEN ARE RAPISTS

t. fag cries out in pain as xe accuses others of being fags

there wasn't any of that shit when the first movie was made. you might as well fall for george lucas fabulations about how he was always planning this or that which was clearly retcon

"we don't need to prove anything to anyone!"

... invent entire meta-cosmologies of cope in order to motivate their degeneracy

F a g g o t

WAAAA a writer can't expand on the concepts of their own story

I bet she started to smell kinda funky by the end of the day in that suit.

there wasn't any of that shit when the first movie was made

Yeah only all the scenes involving the lovestory between neo and trinity that you keep coping about being "tacked on" after the fact, and all the threads that get started but only tied up in the 2nd and 3rd films. You can cover your ears and try to pretend the first movie was the only one ever intended to be made, and the only one that exists, but no matter how hard you seethe the writing will always indicate they were waiting in the wings. You "what sequels" people are even more delusional than the troons the wachowskis ended up becoming. Which I suppose is fitting in a way.

are you an actual retard or just illiterate?

Trinity was cute in the first one. She aged about 10 years by the second and third.
I watch for Hugo Weaving.

somewhat because it contributed to Cypher's betrayal

are you the guy who theorized that the Oracle gave neo the One code via the cookie? if so, your theory was the missing pizzle piece for me and changed how i view the entire trilogy.

No, but you are.

No that wasn't me, and I'm not sure it was exactly "The One code" in that cookie but I do agree with the underlying concept that the things the oracle gives to Neo and Trinity are consequential and go beyond it just being throwaway characterization of the oracle as a kind old black lady.

I feel for Cypher. He likely at one point thought he was the One. And he thought Trinity would love him. Instead he sees her immediately go for Neo and bring him whatever he needs to his room. Guy got real jealous so no wonder he turned.

The bad writing fucked up the romance. The actors actually had chemistry in interviews, backstage, etc, but there was basically nothing leading up to a romance in the movie.
It's actually weird how robotic Trinity is in the first movie.

They're both autistic shut-in outcasts from society. It's not weird at all.
