The comics also run constantly into this problem with him, so he's on an endless cycle of getting nerfed and put away so he doesn't end the plot in two seconds. I was surprised by how well the film portrayed the character.

In the comics he survived even after being reduced to nothing in the sun, he come back again.

So writers come up with characters like the Sentry, which exist but also don't exist, because they can't mess with the other properties. Sentry is a miniseries character that doesn't exist. All storylines are 10 issue miniseries (keep in mind the typical successful manga has 50 to 100 issue arcs).Nothing in the Marvel or DC universe is canon because the authors are long gone. It's all one big joke, it's a big game of pretend and posing, they pretend to make cohesive comic books and you pretend you're buying and enjoying.

Sentry's origin is a five issue miniseries. Five issues (5). The story has literally just 5 comics.

The Kakashi bell training fight is 4 issues long. Just 1 short of being as long as the origin story of the Sentry. The arc where they fight Zabuza is easily 5 times longer than that.
