Given that many Western countries will be minority white, or well on their way, within 2 generations, it seems that encouraging people to accept different ethnic groups in all roles and situations of society is actually very important, and diverse casting practices can really help promote this idea. Sometimes the media we consume is more than just entertainment or a dry reinterpretation of history, it has a real message to promote, and one that may be essential for how we conceptualize our own and other people's place in societies.
