In the end, who was right?
In the end, who was right?
Timothy Zahn
George lost. Keep crying, prequeer.
I wanna stomp that smug little pricks face into mush. I wouldn't be nice to that Johnson faggot either.
Lucas was right. He was right in 1976 and he's still right today. Movies then were mostly dreary shit about morally ambiguous assholes who either die or make things worse for everyone around them. The same thing is going on now, except now it's gayer. The lack of proper heroes in the public consciousness gives rise to degeneracy, and the only way out is with proper stories about heroes instead of wokeslop where "the lines are blurred".
rian johnson is an intellectually dishonest (((man))) and all his episodes and movies are trash
Being controversial for the sake of it is redarded. The story always comes first. If he wants to be acontrarian, he could just post on Anon Babble and not ruin our movies which were carefully built.
What Goerge describes doesn't apply to the prequels at all
The quotes, in isolation, aren't in conflict. They wanted to make different sorts of films. Rian's ideas aren't a match for the original series, but there's no way around that. Only Lucas could have continued the groundwork he had set down, so once he sold the franchise, any hopes of perfect continuity were always doomed.
The prequels don't stand in isolation. They are literally the first half of the story of "Star Wars". The happy ending is happier because of how low the situation was at the midpoint; this is how all such stories work.
Timothy Zahn
Thrawn is cringe. C’baoth was the better creation.
It does apply to I and II but I was kind of taken back by how weird III's ending is after watching it again this weekend. It feels weirdly flat
Neither of those people.
They both unleashed garbage on the world.
good post
The prequels are shit.
I love both but a mentally crazed clone Jedi is kino I still want in a movie someday
Weren't there horses on the outside of a destroyer at one point? I vaguely remember a webm.
george's rationale will make better movies, but the guy on the bottom will probably have more fun making his movies and more to talk about at parties
how is andor still kino then?
The latter is the mark of a shitty movie in a popular franchise that wasn’t created by the shitty movie creator.
no that was TROS, they had to start with horses running through a casino first in TLJ to get there
Its not. Disney doesn't make Star Wars kino.
Where's the Tony Gilroy version? Didn't he say his hero is Stalin or something?
Maybe phantom menace at best but clones ends with politicians standing above a giant army and yoda talking about war
nazism is degenerate, you piles of human trash
Lucas and it´s not even close. The proof is that, in spite of Disney many attempts to undermine their worth, they remain timeless and iconic (which, honestly is to be expected considering it´s a from the book hero´s journey backed by more than 2000 years of of storytelling theory)
Comparatively most of Disney wars media is generic and forgettable. Between it´s absolute lack of aesthetic and narrative identity, how focused it is contemporary political issues, and how absolutely mediocre and aimless the writing is the best it can possibly amount to is to be flavor of the month shit.
30 years from now people will still remember Lucas movies. Sure enough they´d still consume SW 27 but they´d have long forgotten how things even got there. Nobody is going to say "right, to understand this movie i need to watch 21 other disney movies and 20 series and 10 spin offs"
George because he made his Star Wars trilogy but Rian will never make his Star Wars trilogy.
Both of those guys are liars but one is MY liar and I love him.
dude I'm learning you culture based on art and wild conjecture
lmao fuck off.
it isn't. Skeleton Crew is
kids go on an adventure
bond and become friends
blow up the gay computer forcing everyone to do desk jobs for eternity
baddie goes to space jail
Nazis living rent free in your brain buddy.
you aren't even human
Literally every single film ever made has at least a few people saying it's the worst movie ever made.
That statement is basically Rian Johnson's moviemaking in a nutshell: it's sloppily put together puerile bullshit that only makes sense if you desperately try to make it work.
More human than you.
Because despite the ideas presented in things like Luthen's speech, they're not really doing anything morally ambiguous or reprehensible, or at least not anything as bad or worse than the empire. It's not a seedy underworld show where everyone's trying to live off the skin of their teeth, they're objectively doing the right thing for rather selfless reasons. Andor and others do what they do so no one else has to go through the hell the empire puts them through. It's not morally grey, especially when the empire is strapping headsets with the sounds of dying babies onto people's heads.
Lucas will be remembered as a visionary who set a new standard for music and special effects even when his storytelling was flawed. "Bomb Bomb Rian" Johnson will be despised as being the epitome of a talentless hack, if he's even remembered at all.
It's pretty well written and never gets too absurd for something like Star Wars. Zahn showed some nice restraint by not having him meet the main characters face to face. Made him feel like a proper political villain
because he's a flip flop, you shouldn't take his statements seriously
Because you're a slop sucking fag.
how is andor still kino then?
It's not, Disney Star Wars has literally no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It's all trash and it all belongs in the cultural gutter. We can only hope that their continuous billion-dollar failed attempts to turn Star Wars into a golden goose finally drive them into bankruptcy and kills this den of Communist parasites for good.
The Prequels are part of a larger narrative you dipshits. You can't have the heroes be the underdogs fighting to overthrow the Evil Empire unless the Empire overthrows the Republic first.
how is andor still kino then?
the people who dont like andor are either chud nazis or feloni brainlets
I didn't say anything about Nazism. I hate the germans as much as anyone, they can't help but ruin good things like Rome or start two world wars. But that's besides the point, the point is that Lucas had the right approach. People need stories about proper heroes. Traditional heroes in the style of mythologies of old to provide people with timeless lessons that are universal to all people of any culture or faith. That's what the west doesn't understand. Even the goddam pajeets understand it, that's how they can still make epics like RRR despite their country being a shithole. You do not forsake the traditional concept of heroes. It worked for 5,000 years, so who are you to say it needs to die?
educated people can see you are a nazi chud
Lucas-sama I kneel
I believe the second guy is right. It's a good sign when a movie divides opinions. However, a director should not create a movie with that mentality. They should aim to make the best film possible, not deliberately include elements designed just to provoke reactions — which is clearly what he did. The funny thing is, his example actually fits the prequels, but not his own shitty movies.
In the end, who lost?
man with manboob & punchable sumgface
Lucas because I'm not a faggot like Rian fans
Both are wrong.
Geroge is a hack fraud and a proto jew who makes slop for manchildren.
Rian is a faggot kike who makes slop for manchildren but pretend it's high art.
I was going to write out a thoughtful response about how mindbroken you are but it's easier just to call you a faggot and disregard you entirely just like society does.
Faggot.
ok chud
Johnson missed the forest for the trees and you can see how superficial and immature his idea of subversion was. It was all inconsequential by the end of his movie, all the questions it was raising were never properly concluded, it all just shifted right back to black and white, the death of the head villain and usurpation by someone promising a New Way of doing shit changes nothing, the discovery that the Resistance is in bed with war profiteers doesn't matter, the idea that the cycle of dark and light, order and rebellion are fake and gay because people just choose to go through the motions is sidelined so that it can become a battle of dark and light order and rebellion. Even the simple idea of burning the SACRED JEDI TEXTS to start anew is a fake out since Rey has the fucking things.
Rian likes the idea of challenging media but doesn't have the balls to create it, even the quote rings hollow because when it comes to people actually hating the movie he shits himself in fury, say they don't get it and that he's not mad they're mad.
