We all thought nu-Star War would be excellent with this.. how did they do so good here but so bad in the sequels?
Star War thread
It's not a good movie though. It's boring fanfiction that adds nothing to the Star Wars universe. The Phantom Menace is a masterpiece by comparison
only the OT is good
Blah blah blah ahh thread
Rogue One is better than any of the OT movies, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise. The blind monk fighting scene is incredibly inspired. The production values are second to none. There's not 60(!) minutes of boring ass bullshit on Tatooine before anything happens. There's no dullard training scenes. There are no ewoks.
Rogue One is a dogshit movie for indians
It's 86% on rottentomatoes. Hating on kinema won't get you "cool points" on Anon Babble.
That movie sucks
Star wars is gay
Oo is a faggot
Sage goes in all fields
Rogue one is unironically my favourite and most rewatchable star wars movie. My personal ranking would be
Rogue one and Andor on top
Empire strikes back
A new Hope
Return of the Jedi
Clone wars (the movie) and Revenge of the sith
POWER GAP
Phantom menace
the force awakens
POWER GAP
everything else that the House of Mouse™ shat out
I really can't stress how much I fucking loved rogue one. The battle scene at the end in particular was incredible and retroactively makes the yidsney sequels even worse because it showed me how great star wars battles could be with modern production capabilities.
I still love and respect the OT but similar to it's just... a better movie.
lmao
Rainbow Coalition One sucks.
Play Dark Forces instead.
I found it surprisingly moving, and it gave us the best vader scene in the entirety of star wars
youtube.com
feels like a movie where the execs weren't breathing over their necks and demanding it was maximum marketable
Just a star wars movie made by star wars fans, for better or worse, pure high quality fanservice
I like Andor a lot but I've only seen the space battle from Rogue One. Is the whole movie worth watching?
Should I watch this now or wait for Andor to finish? I've watched it when it came out but don't remember anything about it
Yeah let's get the director that made Godzilla boring!
Such high quality it directly contradicts the start of ANH. 10/10, exactly what I'd expect from Disney Wars. Also making the Death Star's weakness intentional was and remains retarded. To date, I'm not sure whether people calling it good isn't a meme that I just missed.
YES. absolutely. Watch it now.
Put the Death Star plans in a claw machine.
This movie is fucktarded.
wait for andor to finish and then check it out, iirc the showrunners have said the end of andor is meant to flow well into rogue one
Such high quality it directly contradicts the start of ANH
how so?
Also making the Death Star's weakness intentional was and remains retarded
it actually fixes the massive fucking plot hole that was "why does this invincible space station have such a simple weakness"?
More Starshit threads
Oh boy.
Andor is commie gobbledygook.
don't listen to this nigger just wait for s2 to finish since the movie is the finale.
yes absolutely but like I said to the other anon if you haven't seen it yet finish andor first
The moral grayness of the characters was a mistake.
the only thing it really changes is turning Leia's "we're a diplomatic mission" from attempted deception into a cheeky bit of rebellion in the face of Vader, either works for Leia's character in the OT
how so?
Darth Vader explicitly says that the rebels intercepted a transmission containing the Death Star Plans.
why does this invincible space station have such a simple weakness
Because the Empire is arrogant and underestimated their enemies, which happens again in RotJ with them never so much as considering that the Ewoks could be a threat (assuming they even bothered to learn they existed at all). You don't need anything more than that.
They turned the Rebels into ISIS.
I hate that they're no real alien characters.
It's like watching a big budget episode of Captain Planet.
Darth Vader explicitly says that the rebels intercepted a transmission containing the Death Star Plans.
which is still true, from a certain point of view, not like Star Wars has any scruples about doing that
Darth Vader explicitly says that the rebels intercepted a transmission containing the Death Star Plans.
which is what happens at the end of rogue one? LMAO

I agree that this is a recurring theme in star wars and one that I enjoy but I think that galen erso's storyline and his method 'rebelling' in his own way against the empire adds depth and a human story to the flaw that makes it all the more cathartic for luke to then blow up the death star
I really hope every poster here who makes star wars threads, especially nu wars threads, is either a paid shill or a bot. I refuse to believe anyone else would bother.
He's a shill they only real Star Wars threads are on Anon Babble.
Sorry, small error. Here's the exact quote:
Don’t act so surprised, Your Highness. You weren’t on any mercy mission this time.
Several transmissions were beamed to this ship by rebel spies.
I want to know what happened to the plans they sent you.
It's pretty impossible to reconcile that with the events in Rogue Juan.
FPBP. None of the characters in the flick matter or develop. Hell, I prefer Solo to RO
I hate the disney films but is it seriously that unbelievable to you that someone would post about one of the largest and most well known media franchises ever on Anon Babble
isn't there like 2000 years between Canderous and modern day Mandalorians?
makes sense that his era's Mandalorians were Vikings, and modern day Mandalorians are those faggy viking impersonators
Fuck off with that "It's has to reflect our own world" shit.
Plus there's nothing wrong looking into your Nordic heritage.
None of the characters in the flick matter or develop
nignog, the main character went from aimlessly surviving to giving her life for a cause bigger than her.
It is funny how it set the bar relatively low and nothing after it manged to clear it. I dont think it was terrible, it had some good moments but it was a convoluted mess with too many characters and forced set pieces and clearly had a lot of re-writing and shuffling about that probably didn't improve it much.
We all thought
No I didn't. I knew it would be slop because Kyle Kattarn got the Death Star Plans, not this literally who OC.
But Kyle is an OC
Nope. He was created by LucasArts aka Lucasfilm. Rogue One is a product of Disney.
3 more days until the next arc dump
it was too campy, soapy, and extremely fantastical. it doesn't help it is for kids
There's everything wrong with doing it in the faggiest way imaginable, by just standing around swinging your cardboard axe
Come back when you've actually connected properly with your past
No, unless you like Death Troopers. The movie is visually pleasing but the story/characters are so fucking lame.
Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso are Disney's Kyle and Jan. They just happened to kill them off
Watch this next
Why not get more characters from Rogue One? They have an opportunity to make me actually feel bad when Blue Leader gets shot down
Wait, so is your issue just with the use of the phrase "beamed to this ship" instead of "beamed to a ship inside which this ship was docked, then downloaded to a physical format and brought to this ship, which subsequently departed"?
They should have given Gareth Edwards an episode. He's the one who wanted to make a movie about the war part of Star Wars. Gilroy likes all the espionage stuff too much.
Fuck off with that "It's has to reflect our own world" shit.
How about "it's perfectly fits into Kreia's prediction and Jango Fett was the last Mandalorian with clarity of purpose"?
Gilroy likes all the espionage stuff too much.
that's all he's known for. You want M.Mann?
I would agree if all mentions or closer look at Mandalorian in nu-Canon (TCW, Rebels, live-action shows etc) carried some hints or subtext like "actually mandalorian culture now completely fucked up".
A Michael Mann Star Wars project could be pretty kino
would be kinda funny if through some force or technology BS a modern day Mandalorian talked to an old-school one and they're like
"Bitch why are you taking off your helmet like that" only to be met with a "bitch how many god damn planets have you conquered recently?"
Is Alan Tudyk confirmed for Andor?
Basically T-Rex talking to a chicken
your really worship lightsaber?
Yep
This is just as bad as the sequels.
Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso are Disney's Kyle and Jan.
Other way around. Andor's genderbent Jan but Mexican instead of Asian. While Jyn's genderbent Kyle sans Force sensitivity maybe. Grew up in a farm, mother got killed, has a final farewell with her dad through hologram, steals the plans alongside her rebel associate. She's Girl Kyle.
as bad as the sequels
They share quite a few bad traits but I wouldn’t go that far.
andor is overrated garbage
That´s not SW matte. Disney doesn´t make Star Wars stuff.
I liked Solo more than Rogue One. Sidekicks like Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson made the movie much more interesting than the supporting actors in Rogue One. It really lives on the performance of Felicity Jones and Diego Luna. But all this is in comparison to how bad the sequels were. The sequels are really the main problem and should get burned at a stake, then everything else would be tolerable.
This movie was mediocre and would've been better if it was about Kyle Katarn stealing the Death Star plans.
Trash character, is not missed.
Andor sounds like a dog with peanut butter in mouth when he talks.
This movie is shit as well, you fags ate it up only because there was Yavin 4, Darth Vader, and other nostalgia bait in it. It also spawned Trandor which is probably the most söy nu-Wars project so far.
Rogue One is the only good sw prequel movie.
It's astonishing how a movie with a cast that's interesting on paper (Whitaker, Mikkelsen etc.) and characters that are interesting on paper (guy who built the Death Star, his daughter, blind wannabe Jedi, veteran rebel leader etc.) and a story that's interesting on paper (heist movie with deathstar plans) and beautiful effects and cinematography, can be so blant and boring. Truly an achievement.
But enough about Jyn Erso.
Star Wars desperately needs less Jedi at this point
Besides ask yourself this: would you have preferred Kyle Katarn to have been touched by disney wars or instead have his memory unsullied?
Rogue One sucks and was the harbinger of how bad Disney was going to botch Star Wars.
Comments like these fascinate me because I fundamentally disagree, to me it was an engaging, fun movie with genuinely compelling characters and the furthest thing from bland. I'm not trying to insult you I just find it funny that two non-mentally ill humans can look at the same movie and have such diametrically opposed takeaways. Then again I find most movies women like unbearable whilst they adore them so maybe it's like that
rogue one release date: 2016
the force awakens release date: 2015
how can rogue one be the harbinger when it's not even the first thing the house of mouse™ shat out after buying the ip?
