If you've ever noticed how reality shows will have a helicopter shot that's played at one speed, and then speed up and subconciously thought "wow that feels really cheap", pretty much any non-american show will do the same thing.
The only exception I can think of is Habana Spark which is kino as fuck, but most of it looks like cheap trash.

I don't know what happened to japan and i don't know if they have always been that way for centuries but they really have no concept for subtlety. Sometimes something earth shattering happens and nobody reacts at all and sometimes something minor happens that most people wouldn't even notice and characters completely freak the fuck out literally having seizures on the floor.
