The Well is a sequel to Midnight, set on an abandoned diamond mining colony. The entity possesses a young girl who is deaf and communicates by sign language.

Lucky Day is a dark folk horror story involving all the terrible things happening on Earth while the Doctor is away. UNIT is completely re-established as a dangerous organisation harbouring secrets. The villain is an alien disguised as a popular podcaster who met the Doctor as a child and who uses hypnotism on Ruby.

The Fugitive Doctor appears in The Story and The Engine, where the trickster god Anansi is capturing people in a fake barbershop on its back to extract stories and life energy from its victims.

Episode 6 guest stars Freddie Fox as a terrorist holding the Interstellar Song Contest hostage. It ends with Mrs. Flood revealed as The Rani. Mrs Flood bi-regenerates from the Rani at the end of The Interstellar Song Contest and babbles about Omega. The person says that a young Asian woman plays the current Rani from which Mrs Flood bi-regenerates but doesn't know who it is. May be Archie Panjabi.

Mrs Flood will be the one dropping the bombshell to the Doctor regarding Omega and his involvement in what is happening to him & Belinda. The Rani was the Boss Meep referred to.

How would we feel if they did it like the guy from Planet of the Spiders? Like say the next Doctor appears as the outgoing Doctor's companion in their last episode.

To be fair, stories set on or involving Gallifrey in the classic era were never much good (The Deadly Assassin excepted, and even then I think i's overrated). It's the least interesting aspect of the Doctor, his relationship with the setting completely changes once you put him on Gallifrey and not in a good way. Only really in the War Games is it okay, and that was done purely to serve as the justification for his regeneration at a time when they hadn't fully worked out the mechanics of it yet.

It's a low bar. I'm rewatching MoffWho atm and it's mixed if we're being honest. Series 5 was great, but only because it followed the formula they'd had since 2005. You can tell it was written half with Tennant in mind (no shade on Smith, I actually prefer him to Tennant).

Series 6 is a grueling watch though. There are lots of individual great ideas, great moments and the premise of some stories is fantastic (The Girl Who Waited shines here imo). But the whole series arc is just so messy and weighed down by absolute shit like Let's Kill Hitler.

Moffat was clearly capable of writing superb stories and coming up with superb concepts, but like RTD needs someone to hold back his flaming homosexuality, Moffat needs someone holding back his insane timey wimey arcs (and his fetish for older women while we're at it).

Btw the Mr Tardis and Tharries cameos in the next episode have been confirmed by reviews

A lot of his first run depended on pop culture and general feeling and life on Earth as it was in the 90s/2000s. In many ways it was comfy. But his run now depends on those same things again except it's the 2020s and everything went to shit, so that same approach now results in AIDS. Making a show that just shows everyday life in a comfy way stopped being a good idea around 2012 or so when everything started rapidly becoming dystopian.

So far I've got The Last Adventure, Dark Eyes 1-4, all 8 of the original 2003 Unbound series, The Living Darkness, the first series of Dalek Empire, Jubilee, Medicinal Purposes, Doctor Who and The Pirates, The Holy Terror, Curse of the Daleks, The Maltese Penguin, The Mutant Phase, Dust Breeding, The Reaping, The Quin Dilemma, Audacity, Terror Firma and the Second Doctor Boxset of the lost stories series. Also got Time Apart, The Lovecraft Invasion and Dark Universe for free but they're kind of cringe and you can tell it's gone to shit in recent years.

There's a story from Big Finish called The Lovecraft Invasion where Colin Baker has a mixed race transgender non-binary companion called Calypso Jones who punches Lovecraft in the face and says that he's scared of a future that's coming whether he likes it or not. The doctor also compares him being racist to a book he liked as a child where the author turned out to be an evil timelord who destroyed planets. I got it for free with another CD I bought and no wonder, the guy must have been desperate to get rid of it. A lot of people are trying to sell that CD probably because of how pozzed it is.

Oh, no worries. The Lovecraft Invasion came out in 2020 so it's very recent, the first one hundred main range Big Finish stories are still solid. Big Finish didn't really go to shit until 2013 with the show's 50th anniversary and most of the pozz I've listened to is a 2020-onwards thing.

By that point (around about 2013) Bog Finish had started incorporating elements of the 2005 revival series into its classic doctor stories, the daleks themselves also sound like nuwho daleks in it despite thr fact they're supoosed to be the 1960s daleks.

As I recall I didn't happen so much under Chib though that's probably just because you had the ethnic-heavy Rosa and Punjab in Series 11 then in Series 12 you had historicals with smaller casts like Tesla and THoVD. It doesn't mention it at all but it lingered over the drawing long enough for most of us to notice it.
