Is this objectively the best opening scene ever?
Is this objectively the best opening scene ever?
The best Tarantino movie right there.
the matrix
what movie is this?
The pub scene is pretty good too.
And the diner scene.
...Actually pretty much every scene without Braddu's group is good.
Whats that?
it was bretty gud but there's also dune ('84), a serious man ('09), and watchmen ('09)
Half of this scene is stolen from the good the bad and the ugly
no.
Terminator 1 & 2
it's a deliberate homage
Reddit: The Film II: Jewish Goon Fantasy
The scene in the restaurant where Landa interviews Shoshanna about using her theater has always been my favorite, the tension where they're feeling each other out and she's trying to figure out whether he remembers her is amazing. And her little panic attack at the end when he walks away.
Honestly this whole movie is amazing except for the parts with the actual basterds.
Consider for a moment the world a janny lives in. It's a hostile world, indeed. If a janny were to scamper through your thread, right now, would you greet it with hostility?
I suppose I would.
Has a janny ever done anything to you to create this animosity you feel toward them?
Jannies delete threads.They ban anons.
Jannies were the cause of the GamerGate bans, but that's some time ago. I propose to you any post a janny could delete, a Mod could equally delete.Would you agree?
Oui
Yet, they're both staff, are they not? And except for the pay, they even rather act alike, don't they?
It's an interesting thought, Herr Anon.
However interesting as the thought may be, it makes not one bit of difference to how you feel. If a janny were to walk in here, right now, as I'm posting, would you greet it with a saucer of your delicious hotpockets?
Probably not.
I didn't think so. You don't like them. You don't really know why you don't like them. All you know is you find them repulsive.
This movie has a kino opening.

The Godfather
Drive
Apocalypse Now
You are sheltering enemies of the state, are you not?
lol no
what now?
Anon Babble wants me to believe this scene isn't unfiltered kino.
This is just the reddit version of
its funny because the movie is inherently critical of how we have fun watching nazis get killed, but you're too dumb to realize.
"Drive but with vastly shittier music, less visual flair, and much worse lead"
Its one of the only scenes Tarantino can do and he does it continuously and will never fucking stop doing his gay sadism bullshit where one character has all the cards, all the power and is tormenting another for what feels like a really drawn out time. He does it like 3-4 times in this movie.
He can't really stop doing it either. Maybe Once upon a time had the least amount in modern times, which also makes it the best
kino
you are sheltering enemies of the state, are you not?
So he hid this jewish family from the Nazis for literally years, and when a Nazi comes to his door and asks you if you're hiding them you immediately say yes? Was this some kind of joke about French people surrendering right away?
Maybe Once upon a time had the least amount in modern times
Has at least 3 such situations.
not even the best opening scene in a tarantino flick
Posting team step away.
Kinokeeper..
You might actually be autistic. They obviously knew there were Jews in the house. The point of the scene is that Landa is fucking with the guy the entire time because he enjoys it.
Bullseye.
The Godfather
Saving Private Ryan
Star Wars
Star Trek (2009)
The Dark Knight
Raiders of the Lost Ark
All had better opening scenes
the greatest fantasy movie of all time
yeah im sure the guy who lives in israel meant for it to be that way
That was a Slovak run labor camp and not representative of most concentration/labor camps in German occupied Poland. Nobody is claiming that there were mass graves at Novaky
its representative of all camps. auschwitz had a prostitution house, mail system for contacting people outside, a soccer league the inmates played in with the guards ont eh same teams literally across the street from the alleged crematoriums. guess they didnt notice the smell or care. they had horse back riding, pools, theater, etc. all put there by the nazis because they knew they might lose and just created these things as cover up for later obviously. they also took pictures and you can watch interviews with survivors on spielbergs shoa website where they discuss these amenities.
Yeah bro Auschwitz was chill they were all playing ball and getting head from the camp brothel
Have you never heard of the concept of offering small tithings of luxury to keep up morale among people in the process of being worked to death?
So the Nazis forced millions out of their homes, stole their belongings, tattooed them, shaved their hair all so they could... have fun in summer camp? Even without the concrete evidence of the extermination camps the idea that this crazy murderous regime was somehow being nice to the minority groups they hated most in just makes no sense, and simply seems much more likely to be a fantasy made up by people who idolize the Nazi's and want to launder their historical status
you can watch interviews with survivors on spielbergs shoa website where they discuss these amenities

They really didn't have their priorities straight. Maybe they should've spent that money on the war effort not hookers and swimming pools for the jewish inmates.
