If you ignore nostalgia , you know it to be true
He’s easily the best Spider-Man
who?
"mr stark mr stark mr stark"
gets all on his tech from tony
gets all of his villains from tony
acts like the exact same awkward bumbling idiot both in and out of costume
wants to be spider-man because its cool and not because he feels he needs to protect people
worst spider-man forever
No he’s lame.
I agree OP. Spider-Man has always been a limp dicked little queer
You know what really screams Spider-Man? Needing two alternative versions to show up and teach him how to be Spider-Man. Very non-sidekicky, it's just like my Ditko comics.
Take away spider-mans origin story and have tony fuck his aunt also vulture is also now a ironman villian
LOL no
This kinda made no way home less impressive to me
Imagine being in your third movie and still getting schooled on how to do shit in your third spider year
Tobey is still the best Spidey simply because organic web shooters are better.
He is the least Spider-man out of any Spider-mans we've ever had.
was in like 5 movies and never grew up or had a character arc
ahem
All these arguments are only leading one way, and none of you are gonna like it. But it’s the truth.
GARFIELD’D
OP didn’t post Garfield tho
LMAO
Marvel only has flat character arcs though. Seriously. Prove me wrong.
Manhattan, New York
Disney Studio Set
Queens, New York
This made me realise Andrew is the only non manlet spider
No, he's sucks playing Spider-Man because he never fought to have the best characters in the movies, he never fight to having Gwen, the real Mary Jane, Black Cat, Harry and Flash. Besides the classic villains and female villains, decades and we've never seen a female villain, Spider-Man has the best female villains than Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman and stupid Sony never put them in the movies. Holland sucks
Tony Stark had the best one and the series was born and died with his character.
Steve Rogers had to grow up and live in a more complicated world.
Bruce Banner went from being a great character to Mark Ruffalo
Fuck Ironman jr
of all the ideas for promo art they could think of, it's him unmasked in front of a moving train where anyone could see him in the most bland composition possible
I hate nano suits.
I'm getting real sick of this manlet spider-man shit.
Garfield was the best Spider-Man.
Garfield chads won
I saw the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man show.
I didn't like it, but I would have preferred its story to be the basis for the MCU's Spider-Man.
1960s animated spider-man is the definitive and Anon Babble-approved spider-man
Looks like a call boy for pedophile redditors
The 90s cartoon defined how I would go on to read all the characters voices to this day.
You can't deny that Garfield is objectively the best actor to play the character. Just unfortunate the films they put him in were so shit. I actually like ASM 1 though
TASM 1 is underrated.
TASM 2 despite all it's issues had good CGI, web swinging and the best looking suit. The first 10 minutes alone are streets ahead of the MCU garbage
Good point.
You know what
True
His first one was just charming and did a good job of capturing the feeling of AP kids (in a cartoony way) where you like all the non superhero characters
The second one was actually really good, it expanded on the AP kid stuff really well, while also exploring how pop culture shapes young men's ideas about meaning, identity, and reaponsibility, while showing how the expectations of a geriatric and aging culture (iron man) can exert crippling pressure on these same young men, to the point of essentially derealization/dissociation (which was explored through the villain and his reality/illusion powers - the villain also made sense as a cynical foil to the misguided but good intentions of iron man)
The third movie was just kindof pastiche though but it was fun how they had the old spiderman
He wears a Spiderman costume but iron boy isn't Spiderman
hotter than Andrew and Tobey
smarter than Andrew and Tobey
faster than Andrew and Tobey
stronger than Andrew and Tobey
has the hottest gf
has more gadgets than both
Tobeybros... Andrewbros... I don't feel so good...
gets all of his villains from tony
This is the worst one by far, made so much worse because the villains are Spider-Man villains! Vulture and Mysterio are classic Spider-Man villains, and yet they made BOTH of them dudes whose whole villain backstory is tied to Tony Stark and then they only incidentally run into Spider-Man (because Tony Stark is too busy going to indian weddings and being dead)
And then they gave up for the 3rd one and didn't even make his villains Tony Stark antagonists, but just took villains from other Spider-Man movies instead. Absurd.
He never captures the feeling of Spider-Man. Even his suit looks generic and fake. He never feels like a kid struggling to juggle superheroisms and normal people isms. He feels very fake and bored playing Spider-Man. His friends look fake and look like they don’t like each other but have to be there because they are in a movie.
I liked him in NWH but absolutely hated him every appearance before that.
dumbest Peter Parker
weakest Peter Parker
worst taste in women
At least he, uh... quips.
I will bump your ragebait
he was carried hard by nostalgiabait and Andrew's superior performance in NWH.
This is incomprehensibly autistic rationale for film analysis
"mr stark mr stark mr stark"
Lol this.
it has nothing to do with nostalgia. peter parker is someone who came from nothing and made himself into a hero. mcu spiderman is a faggy rich kid who gets all of his shit from his rich friend and fucks dysgenic mexicans.
I missed the part where that's my problem.
generic "teen" action manlet. the awkwardness of high school male sexuality = raimi's
Don't forget
Spidey Sense is now "Peter tingle"
his "MJ" is a sarcastic mutt with whom he has zero chemistry
J Jonah Jameson is Alex Jones and never actually interacts with him
People try to give Garfield shit for not being DORKY enough but the problem is that people really don't know what kind of NERD Peter Parker was. He was a science geek who'd rather study than go to movies. He never had trouble talking to girls they just didn't want to go do science stuff. When he was bullied he always pushed back harder than he got. You read the comics and yeah he's a science nerd but he's not a modern day dork who is awkward and adorkable. He's arrogant, kind of stuck up and had a chip on his shoulder that needed super strength to lift. He was only kept in some check because he cared about his aunt and uncle but there's a reason he let that robber go in the first place and it's because he could be really spiteful.
I want to see a movie were Spider-man is a massive DICK.
There was nothing really bad about Garfield's performance, he was just stuck with a really shitty script and an even shittier script in the second movie
I hate Hot Young Aunt May. I don't care if her being a million years old is weird to zoomies. Her being old and struggling is a huge chunk of what drives Spider-man. We don't have to make her helpless oblivious Mrs Magoo but her being young and fit enough to run charities, events and hold down a job and not on a pitiful social security check removes agency and struggle for Pete.
There was nothing really bad about Garfield's performance
that's what the normalfags are saying NOW especially after NWH released.
But during the release of TASM flicks they criticized him a lot. It's just in hindsight his performances are streets ahead of Tom's
I think the skateboard thing gave him a bad image.
to be fair, that scene was pretty dumb and could've been cut entirely
He's the best actor of the three for sure
I will say though that his Peter Parker was not believable as an "uncool, unpopular kid". Avi Arad and the producers wanted it to be that way but it's hard to imagine Garfield's Peter being pushed around and bullied IRL when he's presented as this smooth talking, rebellious attitude kid with good looks. But again, bad script and bad quip writers
This anon is wise.
I hate that they had her finding out Peter was Spider-Man just for her only response to be "No big deal! Please help me do my charities!".
What they should have done was make Garfield the post High School Spider-man. People really seem to not realize just how SHORT he was there for in the comics and once he was in college he was generally kind of a cool guy, not just in looks but in general attitude. They totally could have pulled of Romita era Parker.
