worst decade for cinema since it was invented
Objectively wrong, zoomer
Kike shit.
Too jewy.
Rope
Saw a screening recently of the 1974 movie "The Parallax View" which is a thriller about a reporter who witnesses an assassination then discovers that over time all the witnesses are dying under suspicious circumstances. As he investigates he thinks he may have discovered a shadowy corporation that is recruiting malcontents to be groomed into assassins or saboteurs, and goes undercover to try to learn more.
It has this very strange but awesome roughly 5 minute sequence where the reporter has used a cover identity to be recruited by the corporation, and they subject him to what is presumably a test to see what his reaction is to different stimuli that may also be an attempt at brainwashing, it's never explained. Give it a watch, probably the coolest short film snuck into another movie I've seen.

Kill yourself
Mikey and Nicky
The classic.
Is Marlowe even Jewish in the movie? I don’t remember anything religious being even mentioned
Marathon Man is super underrated kino.
I only just watched The Long Goodbye for the first time recently and thoroughly enjoyed it, I'm keen to hear any similar recommendations if anyone has em
Peter Falk kinos welcome
If Marlowe wore a cape and starred in a funnybook, you'd be all calling this movie a "kike subversion".
You want neo-noir? You watch Chinatown. You want more Altman, you watch 3 Women.
Dog Day Afternoon is way up on the list of great 70s movies.
Any neo-noir from the 70s. I'm not being flippant or glib but nearly all 70s neo-noirs have a similiar feel.
ATTICA
name as many good movies as you can from the 70s. any other decade you will be able to name more
Actual schizo shit you’re spewing. The character isn’t even a jew in the movie he’s a book character
Sugarland Express is an oddly comfy movie even though you know they are screwed in the end.

The decade when movies where made for actual adults
The other
Prime cut
The movie subverts Marlowe and makes him a pathetic faggot that's out of time.
Pacino robbed the bank so he could afford to buy his boyfriend a neo-vagina. Between this and Cruising, I think Pacino may have been experimenting with men in the 70s and 80s when he was a coke head.
...And Justice For All is certified 70s Pacino kino
It’s objectively the only Star Trek movie.
Here's a few even you know:
The Godfather
The Godfather part 2
Taxi Driver
A Clockwork Orange
Barry Lyndon
McCabe & Mrs. Miller
American Graffiti
Jaws
The Exorcist
Star Wars
Was he the first trans character on screen? I honestly can't think of an earlier one.
Mean Streets (1973) is one of Scorsese's best highly recommend
Who cares the movies great and the character isn’t even a jew you’re schizo babbling
Norman Bates from Psycho, kind of
really? only ten? nine of them being exactly what I expected to hear. this is exactly what I'm talking about. I could name three times as many and I still think it's the worst decade for film.
i was pretty disappointed in this movie
that scene is great, and warren beaty is enjoyable (all the acting is actually) but idk. the jfk allusions...it all feels very vanilla. like it's guise it's that it's saying "something" but it's not saying much at all
only ten?
There are others in this thread if you care to read it.
what I expected to hear
Well duh, because they're good.
I could name three times as many
Yet you haven't.
There are a lot of great movies from the 70s. But as I got older and started raising a family, and 10 years in the office just turned into 25 years, this one is probably the most kino to a millenial man.
wtf was his problem
The Duellists
Do foreign films count? 70s Italian films were gritty as fuck. Caliber 9 fans know what I mean.
The second half feels very underwritten compared to the first, and the ending sequence was disappointing, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The test scene was so awesome to watch in a theater, definitely the highlight of the film.
The 1973 Three Musketeers is a favorite of mine. Absolutely stacked cast, and I feel like it's the only adaptation that correctly captured the right balance of action, humor and sex the book has.

instead of being an argumentative, contrarian faggot, you could get some recommendations from others. Its not not like anything good will be released new in 2025.
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia
Patton has to be listed here.
still the best horror film, it will never be topped
The 70s were a great decade dor Blaxploitation fans. This one had a particularly good theme song that I still jam out to this day

I've read both volumes of the Patton Papers and I think they got the ethos of the man down pretty well even if George C. Scott didn't really act like him. Although it wouldn't have worked if he did because Patton had kind of a high pitched softer voice. Fantastic movie though. When he screams out "Rommel you magnificent bastard, I read your book!" and he's being figurative but literal at the same time because we had that scene earlier where he's actually reading Rommel's book on tank tactics. Great stuff.
Prime cut
good shit, love the Morricone score
The Parallax View
Great shit, now watch 3 Days of the Condor
Any Which Way but Loose
Convoy
Smokey and The Bandit
White Lightning
Gone in 60 Seconds
Escape from Alcatraz
Serpico
Good list.
I just watched this for the first time tonight.
Absolutely fucking loved it. Like a sleazy smarmy Chinatown.
Notable for having the galaxy's hottest bald woman.
No, that would be the one we're in.
A more out there kind of movie.
The original Wicker Man is actually pretty good.
OH LORD OH JESUS CHRIST
Actor's honest reaction because he hadn't seen the prop before they shot the scene
Watched it for the first time a few months ago. It was... not what I was expecting at all. If anything it reminded me of The Prisoner.
It's odd. Definitely not for everyone. I liked it though. I like kind of dreamlike, stuff happening just below the surface, small town movies like this. Almost like he stepped into a place outside of time.
fpwp
Little Murders. it's more elliott gould 70s kino but in nyc. no neo-noir angle tho. more absurdist comedy and satirizing of the instability of the era.
Big Lebowski. youve probably seen it, but if not it basically is the dumb 90s stoner version of the long goodbye. i think the coen bros admitted that at some point.
The Player. another altman kino but focused on hollywood antics.
Friends of eddie coyle
Robert Altman was Catholic
the character is a white man and its an offense that he's played by a jew
Good pick.
Uh oh I guess you can't watch like half of the movies ever made.
wow such esoteric taste. never heard of any of these
How many actors are Jewish you fucking retard, the actual character in the movie is a white guy. Gould looks italian or greek in the movie anyway, nothing about him in it seems jewish
Better than Daniel Craig's last few bond movies for sure.
Gould looks italian or greek in the movie anyway, nothing about him in it seems jewish
Thats because the Ask are literal roman era migrants that mixed with Italians, or Italian converts. Most jews worth anything anyhow are thorougly Europeanized mischlings
So what’s the problem?
Theres no problem I just think its neat
5 bags and a little bag of astronaut food. It's time for Bond to go back to space.
The original The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds is good, unlike the shit Adam Sandler remake.
It’s amazing how much better movies are without cell phones in them
Still waiting for those 30 better movies from another decade btw
And how much better they are without making 20 cuts a minute throughout the entire duration of the movie.
here you go, the top 50 movies of the 1970s
letterboxd.com
She's distractingly sexy in that film. Wish she'd gotten more screentime. Imagine if the camera roamed over her like it did the Enterprise. Kek.
is duelling this good bros??
There it is. Third fucking post. This board is fucking unusable
Easily in my top 10
youtu.be
70s were like the only time it was not only acceptable, but cool to be from the South
Also
Bad News Bears
Billy Jack
Brewster McCloud
80 Blocks from Tiffany's (documentary)
The Taking of Pelham 123
Assault on Precinct 13
True.
its really fucking weird seeing Jeffrey Tambor young in this movie
Very cool and unusual movie, but the third act is beyond rushed.
is this the one that has the fight scene in the glass workshop in Venice? I remember as a kid I fucking loved that part.
