Always liked Noah Wyle as one of like 5 people that watched all of Falling Skies. He was really good here, enough to forgive that he was likely the one pushing hard for all the messaging in the earlier part of the season. Probably a shoe-in for the Emmy nomination at least.

Southland is better then most shows cop or otherwise, point was we seem to have a trend in re-doing these kinds of shows but they are centered around a single shift.

You know what, i liked it, i was impressed they did a MCI. This show would not have aired when i was a kid that's for sure. I'll look forward to season two, but I hope that they kinda round out some characters a bit more, some just had no flaws at all and it seems to conflict with the main story the show was going for.

I think it’s the only realistic breakdown scene I’ve seen for a male character that wasn’t a fucking soap opera production or a soapbox for ranting about toxic masculinity or whatever the fuck. He just couldn’t handle shit for a bit. No grand resolution, no running to the therapist moral to the story.

Also feel like they resolved the incel kid story in a way I’d never expect. It didn’t turn out to be the shooter. There wasn’t some come to Jesus moment where he repents and embraces feminism.

Is it just the state of the industry that makes this stand out as wow moments? The show can be a bit preachy like the vaxx parent here but it’s pretty realistic to how tired med staff is of dealing with Dr Google so good effort.

Only real wiff for me is hick kid accepting the offer of free room and board. Would have too much pride to be in debt to someone like that.
