Just as a point of reference for how truly, utterly fucked Disneywars is and that even if they never admit it they know exactly what they've done: there's going to be a screening of the original, unedited, unspecial'd theatrical cut of Episode 4 in London at the BFI Film Festival.
Bear in mind that Lucas insisted that cut doesn't even exist anymore, that the film and negatives are simply gone, and there was almost certainly language in his sale contract that prohibited Disney from releasing it in any way or even acknowledging it existed. So the fact they're willing to do whatever they had to do behind the scenes to make this possible...yeah they know they fucked up and only have one ace left to play, the screening is a trial run for the original cuts to be trickled out on home media and Disney+ over the next few years to try and keep the franchise on life support.

They need to lay it to rest for a decade. We've been steadily shovelled SW shit every single year since 1994, and steadily shovelled new shows and movies since Disney took over, so they've over-saturated the market to where it's all worthless now.
Bury the whole thing for a decade. No new movies, shows, merchandise, or anything. Give the customers a chance to digest all that they've over-produced. Use that time to come up with one really kick-ass script that'll get people to fall in love with Star Wars again.

Obi Wan could have been a good movie, by stripping all the unnecessary shit and sticking to tatooine and none of the Leia shit. The Obi Wan and Darth Vader fight was cool, though I can't remember how it made sense that Darth Vader would just leave Obi Wan to be a hermit for like 2 decades.
I don't know that they can afford to put it on ice, especially if China's banning Hollywood movies (not to bring that shitstorm into this conversation). Last I heard, they have yet to even turn a profit on the Lucasfilm purchase.
