This and for me personally, the best vampire stories explore what is it like for a human to become an immortal apex predator, and the way it deforms a vampire's mind with time, detaching them from humanity over the decades and centuries. Or how a vampire tries to somewhat hold on to what remains of their humanity, to prevent themselves from going insane from everything they would've seen during their long lives. The vampire genre has so much potential it's a fucking travesty how much the they're being underused.

I see X-Men as just racism exploration galore. I don't think they try to go much further than that. Tbqh I also don't know much about it, but what I read (superficially) about the recent Krakoa revival is that they digging a little deeper, which I think is very nice.

I get that, it's just that you only have to look at the last thread, all the recommendations are for the most part the same 15-20 movies (and basically no tv shows) that people have agreed are decent and the majority of them are old artsy euroshit made by high of their tits artists. And there are hundreds of movies, and shows, that are basically forgotten because they were utter dogshit. Finding good vampire fiction means either diving in the refuse pile of novels that are 99% soft-porn for women or lowering your cinematic or tv standards. Or just watching the same shit you liked over and over and over again, forever.
