Richie did nothing wrong

gets out of jail

his business partner he put into action pretends he doesn’t owe him and the boss rules in favour of a civilian

his niece is getting beat up by the boss’s nephew and the boss does nothing about it

his boss humiliates him in front of capos and taxes him for no reason

he makes a piece offering with a treasured jacket that gets donated to some poor immigrant bum

he gets policed on who he can and can’t fuck by his boss

How do people side with Tony again? If he were more straight with Richie he would have had a great asset. He fucked it just like he fucked it with Tony B.

your mistake is taking things at face value
he was a psychopath slowly escalating his demeanor and engaging in non stop powerplays
cant have a person like that around when you want to hold authority

everyone in the mafia is a psychopath

He was old school

He would’ve been a great asset crippling a friend of Tony’s for no reason. Tony did NOT take kindly to insubordination. Even Ralphie for all of his fuckups didn’t get into business with Artie for that reason

Tony is a shit boss. Jackie didn't whack every single earner in the family over petty bullshit

Tony disrespected him, he’s Jackie’s brother and did 10 years- why is Tony siding with a pizza joint civilian?

might shock you but not every criminal is a psychopath

That was Tony. They’re just animals

All the ones in this show were

Tony, Junior, Bobby, Chris, Sil weren’t psychopaths.

yea of course it was tony too
psychopaths are social predators and they can smell each other pretty fast

Bobby wasn’t, but the rest at least kill thoughtlessly and soulless pay for extremely short term decision making and use reason pretty much only to cover up and justify their animalistic actions

Soullesslly*

Chris was one of the most psychopathic of all of them lmao, spergs out and assaults/murders random civilians over petty inconsequential bullshit multiple times with 0 remorse or guilt.

I dont understand why i need to explain this but Richie clearly was trying to 'catch up' with the game for spending 10 years in the can.
He didnt understand that things were not the same as he left, there were new loyalties and new deals, there was no new shortcuts tho.
His attempts to shortcut only undermined Tony's influence and power, and if you want to stay as the top-dog leader you cannot have your underling coming for your spot.
He needed to build up, but wanted it all from the moment he got free.

You forgot the part where he put the civilian in a wheelchair

Chris wanted to go into movies, he wasn’t about that life but Tony brought him in and kept him in

tony was a psychopath but a mentally ill one

Oh and you also forgot the part where he was selling blow on the garbage routes, which endangers that entire line of business.

his business partner he put into action pretends he doesn’t owe him and the boss rules in favour of a civilian

they both made money and Beansie invested his while Ritchie didn't. Why does that warrant payment perpetually? The family would've been taxing him already if they could but they didn't, so you can't just go around family rules.

chris should have just remained an associate and made indie movies with his mafiashekels

Here we go again. Richie only did that because Tony wouldn’t let Richie eat. Put yourself in Richie’s shoes:

you can’t collect from Beansie

you can’t collect from Davey

you get fucked out of the garbage route contract

So what do you do you? You go to the boss of the family Junior and ask for his blessing to sell coke. How can you side against Rich here?

So what do you do you?

how about not being an over-entitled prick and just do no-show jobs like everyone else while you get back on your feet?

Richie just needed to be more patient. He got out of prison and immediately started cracking spines and slinging drugs against the boss's orders. If he hadn't instantly pissed off Tony by crippling Beansie (after Tony SPECIFICALLY told him to leave Beansie alone) and then joking about it to Tony's face, Tony probably would've been a lot less hostile to him.

hierarchy is hierarchy, a guy like richie is well aware of that and still tested out the waters

He was the brother of the boss and did 10 years for the family. He should at least be able to earn.

no, he did everything wrong

Oh yeah gifting out a beloved jacked to the boss is obviously a 4D chess move meant to intimidate the guy 2 feet taller than you.

and yet life doesnt always work out that way
richie knew exactly what he was getting into AND what he was doing

go rewatch the scene
its all dickswinging way beyond actual physical threat

business partner

Beansie was retired and already being used by Tony to launder cash. Skimming off his pizza parlors because he used to work for you once was a stupid and reckless idea. Much like dealing drugs on the garbage routes.
No, Richie was being held back because Tony didn't want another Aprile splitting the power base but it was perfectly justified. Richie was a moron causing problems immediately after getting out prison and his name was what kept him from being clipped a lot sooner for blatantly disrespecting his boss.

Was Beansie made? Tony made the same mistake with Phil and Phil was right: either it has meaning or it doesn’t.

tony b going rogue and killing phil's brother wasn't tony's fault

He mocked his career path and sabotaged him every step of the way. He wanted to use him and he manipulated him same as Chris

it doesn't have much meaning
if you cause a problem, you can probably skate
if you are seriously fucking up and possibly ruining it for other made guys, they will get rid of you

That doesn’t mean someone’s not a psychopath

I’ll build a ramp up to your ass. Drive a Lionel in there.

Name one time Chris killed someone and wasn’t emotional over it

The dog.

not every criminal is a psychopath

uh oh

now explain to the folks at home what a criminal is

He was the brother of the boss and did 10 years for the family.

That doesn't mean shit, only money ultimately matters.

That didn’t save Vito or Ralph

Ay T, get a loada this fanook thinkin about things instead of making emotional kneejerk reactions. He aint got the makings of a varsity legitimate businessman, hehe. Hey Sil, you hear what I said? I said he aint got the makings of a vasity legitimate businessman.

Ironic since all Richie did was 'emotional decisions'.
