Wow Wes, another symmetrically framed, pastel diorama where emotionally stunted man-children whisper quirks through a fisheye lens? Featuring a star studded cast of jews and minorities? Just give him the Oscar now.
Wow Wes, another symmetrically framed...
yeah he's fallen in to the tim burton trap where his style has just become obnoxious
Turtle looking motherfucker.
But is he turtley enough.... You know... For the club?
Michael Cera isn’t Jewish you retard.
This, the twee taxidermy style has crossed the line into self parody. It’s sad because the man has skills but he’s such a pussy and unwilling to expand beyond the money making recipe he knows will guarantee Pinterest gays and women will obsess over.
Doesn't look symmetrically framed to me
Its basic bitch rule of thirds. The type of shit some youtube essayist would make a 50 minute video about.
He’s being subversive
I thought he was just getting started. He hasn't put out his best works yet.
He needs a serious force in the driver's seat of the movie to make it work in order to counterbalance his chi.
This is why Tenenbaums (Hackman), Zissou (Murray), and Budapest (Fiennes) are his best work.
He's on the spectrum - right up there with Jason Biggs and Mark Ruffalo
This. I've been a fan of his movies since I was 11 I saw Tenenbaums came out. Really like the three mentioned here but couldn't stand French Dispatch or Asteroid City, just way too up his own ass
through a fisheye lens
Idk anon that shot doesn't look like a fisheye
I like his work including his newer work.
Know who stuck to a style throughout his whole career, keeping that style even as he matured and evolved?
Yasuhiro Ozu
Nothing wrong with establishing and maintaining a personal style
Ozu's style wasn't so obtrusive, anon. It was always subordinate to the story he was trying to convey. Wes is the opposite.
michael cera's getting old bros...
But everything is better through a fisheye lens
whole thing looks like AI
Yeah I can't really remember much from his last two films, they didn't stand out to me, pure "style" over substance but the style was boring.
Compare it with the Life Aquatic boat tour scene where they do the cutout of the boat, that was really interesting and very "Wes" style, but then the shootout on the boat with the music and the framing and editing - very unlike "his style". He needs variety and not the same pastel hyper symmetrical kitschy shit he has devolved into
I liked the French Dispatch, or some of it.
I would be down for a Wes Anderson horror movie.
Queers like you queers were saying this shit more than a decade ago. It’ll be added to the list of things people who like him liked and you be ass mad in the same way.
This style is so sycophantic. It feels like quirk chungus propaganda. He should make a movie about Tony Blair.
He was never the same since Gene Hackman raped him in the set of "The Royal Tenenbaums".
is tony blair a quirk chungus
OP should of said "geometrically framed"
I hope that Gene's last thoughts were happy memories of putting that faggot Wes in his place and not wondering why his house smelled like dead bodies.
Only ones I didn't care for so far are half of French Dispatch, Moonrise Kingdom, Rushmore and that recent Alien one who's name I've already forgotten.
I haven't seen Bottle Rocket but I've been led to believe it's unlike everything else he's done.
Ozu's style wasn't so obtrusive
He literally makes frontal medium shot to frontal medium shot cuts, it's like he's trying on purpose to make it the most jarring and conspicuous ffs
should of
You should have learned how to read and write before you posted here.
lurk moar
Why? I've been here for years calling out functionally illiterate morons like you. Don't take it personnel.
Grim
It's a doggy dog world you pre madonna
You'll never leave either.
I haven't seen Bottle Rocket but I've been led to believe it's unlike everything else he's done.
It's a lot more of a triumvirate of Owen and Luke Wilson and Wes, whereas Rushmore is firmly a Wes movie with some Owen.
Isn't Owen in just one scene?
These are O.R. scrubs.
Oh, are they?
I think that's Luke
I’ve always thought it would be great if he made an action film. The scenes in life aquatic where the pirates attacked the boat were great.
He needs to work with an actual script writer or start collaborating with Owen Wilson on the scripts again.
David Mamet is 77
FUCK. Any other names?
2025 Norwegian passport in a period movie
All his gun fight scenes of which he's done a handful remind me of a cartoon or more specifically Shoot Em' Up with Clive Owen.
Right, Owen's the one with the nose on top of his nose.
