They weren't kidding with this movie
They weren't kidding with this movie
That movie?
Albert Einstein.
Culto Cinefilo
I saw this in the theater when I was in high school. it was awesome and fucking terrifying. to this day I can't watch the video recording of the previous crew.
We're leaving.
I’ve loved sci-fi my entire life. I grew up at a time when there was no new Star Wars or other sci fi franchises targeting kids. I can’t remember who took me to see this, my grandma or mom. But I remember they covered their eyes through most of it. I still own the VHs. I need to rewatch it
Sam Neil was great.
why was the ship so mean?
lets chill a bit on space instead of going full gore on me
I forgot to add an important part. Whenever there wa sa sci-fi movie in theaters, I asked to be taken and usually got taken. Despite this being rated R, it had a space ship so someone took me to see it.
Pandorum was good I thought also
why isn't Hell more welcoming?!
Event Horizon is the best sci-fi horror movie. Only a couple come close and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
Paul WS Anderson's movies went to shit the minute he started fucking Milla Jovovich.
DO YOU SEE
I wish Sam Neill did more horror movies. He seems to have a good eye for what is interesting and novel in horror based on the movies he's been in.
based parents
I'd never would have believed that a movie taking inspiration from WH40k would have turned out so good.
I really liked the concept and story of landing on another planets ocean and still thinking you're in space execution was just not great, but underrated
shit
It's just his retirement plan of pounding Mila and cranking out RE movies.
Pandorum is underrated
I mean it's meh, but still a good watch.
Also Event Horizon has a soft spot in my heart because Dead Space is my favorite game but it's just a 6/10 really
one of most hardcore and uncompromising movies you can have in mainstream horror
suddenly comedy relief scene with negro going SHEEEEEEEEEIT
why
the comic relief nog was unnecesary but I get the feeling that most of the people who hate this movie do so because they got triggered by the inclusion of a religious concept like hell in their sci fi movie
in other words reddit atheists
hell is just a word
they just entered a dimension where extremely crazy things happen but its not really the judeo christian hell.
they hit you in the head with this fact several times in the movie.
beats my 401k plan
We don't need eyes to see where we're going
Because it takes inspiration from the classic SF stuff that 40K ripped off, not from 40K.
What are some other horror movies about FTL travel hijinks? This is such great concept and it feels underutilized.
liberate me.....ex inferis
and the ship looks like a cross, come on man they knew what they were doing
but it doesn't matter whether it's christian or not, just that it has religious elements to begin with while being a sci-fi movie
for a lot of people sci-fi and theism don't mix
OH MY GOD IT'S THE FUNKY SHIT
well,in the movie the concept of hell its probably constructed based on someone who somehow knew about that dimension.
but you dont have lucifer on a throne punishing sinners there, its just a bunch of sadic interdimensonal lmaos having lots of violence.
Why would you put explosive charges on the bridge of your space ship?
its good but it feels like it could have been great
You obviously don't understand space
How do I join the Cinephile Cult?
if there was a way to instantly kill any american mentioning that fucking thing on here, the world would be a better place.
oooooh ho hoo, just filled out my L-11b tax return form!!! waaahaaaay look at me L-11b, just did my L-11b, amazing amazing L-11b, thrill ride of a tax return form my L-11b, yeah yeah the L-11b is a smash crash action adventure of a tax return form, nothing quite like the L-11b yeah gotta have the L-11b, makes life complete the L-11b
fucking idiots
That was just the shaft to remove the black hole drive from the ship and use the front as a life boat. They explain this.
You have to fuck a young film in an elaborate ritual
Very futuristic. It's how we detach railway wagons after all.
It's easily the most overrated sci-fi horror movie of all time.
name 50
When you're in a vacuum it's best not to rely on a system with moving parts
The writers explicitly confirmed that they played 40k and used it as inspiration
40k was good in the 90s
Oh really? Can you name a classic sci-fi story with these elements
FTL travel involves a journey through a realm of pure chaos, pure evil
A lost ship returns as a drifting haunted Space Hulk
The academic character is plagued by dark visions and succumbs to Chaos
Spooky Latin
Not many films but there are plenty of short stories and novels
There's one I can't remember the name of
Humanity is basically made obsolete by AI
But every experimental FTL ship comes back with the AI crew dead or insane
It turns out that the FTL realm is bathed in warm light, which means the AIs can't supercool they superconducting brains, but humans are unaffected
So humanity gets a second lease on life, as the stars will always belong to them
I wish IP goblins allowed actual remakes. Make sure they’re done with love, obviously, but this movie is both so damn inspired but also comes off the rails so damn bad it practically begs for a remake. But nooooooooooooo
Same goes for old silent classics, but you guys aren’t ready for that one (unless you meta-appreciate Nosferatu)
the scariest thing is the movie invented pencil paper
As American as apple pie, just watch Dr. Strangelove
hes done tons, pleb
so this is... how you... event horizon...
chills when she said thst
shit is dark as it gets, they went to actual hell or something worse
The decompression scene fucked me up.
upon entering the ship:
anybody else feel like we just crossed an eventuality we cannot undo?
Cooper why did you say it weird like that
what’d you want me to say, the name of the ship? Puh LEASE!
*maimed corpse dangles down*
*everyone screams*
Aw HELL no!!!!!!
Brought to you by a literal Hollywood screenwriter, you’re welcome
aw HELL no!!!!!!
kek
holy cope
This movie is very scientifically innacurate. I've seen a documentary where they enter a real black hole and demonstrate that inside it leads to a little girl's bedroom so you can watch her.
There was a full murder orgy sequence but the studio pussied out and demanded it be cut. Some restored footage and interviews with the extras who performed the scene exist on the special editions of the DVD/Blu Ray.
Studio interference.
en.wikipedia.org
pick a movie
it's guaranteed to be a 3/5 if not better
he elevates every movie hes in
fucking idiots
this guy doesn't have his 401k in order
Lol its not even bad.
LMAO this nigga got an L-11b
That's a weird thing to get upset about.
haha, this guy doesn't have a professional do his taxes, whose sole job is maximizing his monies.
I remember reading that she enjoyed trolling her brothers with her movie scenes where she showed her bush
haha imagine how awkward that would be haha
Proof?
