zero cultural impact

complete dogshit compared to the original. denis villeneuve is an enemy to cinema.

K: Kino

literally everything else: utterly forgettable garbage

It's kind of interesting until the moment when Harrison Cringe appears, just turn it off at that point.

kill yourself, faggot. ryan gosling sucks.

I keep seeing pseuds trying to shill this turbo mid misfire as some kind of overlooked kino gem and I'm like nah. I flopped because it wasn't very good and the "cinematography" is an overrated meme. The whole thing looks like a movie set. It doesn't look like Blade Runner at all.

I guess it has the whole 'literally me' thing going for it as far as cultural impact but that's it. The movie itself still kinda sucks.

Your post reeks of media illiteracy so it would not be worthwhile me replying to somebody so ignorant

Caring about cultural impact just signals you’re a loner who has to feel the countless hours they spend media are somehow meaningful if they’re at least consuming stuff others have consumed. You’re a soulless midwit. Watch and like what you want with zero regards for cultural impact. Free yourself of the desire to be a sheep in the herd.

210003069
that’s your problem. true blade runner is not “literally me” incel garbage like 2049 is.

This was a very bad story and poorly directed it was more akin to a super expensive MTV music video.
I want to do a real sequel to Blade Runner.

tsmt 2049 sucked ass and had barely any action

Staring a de aged Natalie Portman and Miley Cyrus.

normalfags

What? They've never seen BR2049.

I saw it in a Dolby theater with like two boomers in attendance besides me. One of them looked at me as we were leaving and said "Well that's three hours I'll never get back!"

when the movie first released I heard NPR hosts gushing over the film

Why does this movie triggers so many people?

fucking based boomers dabbing on 2049 trash

Caring about cultural impact just signals you’re a loner

Enjoy your slop. Cultural impact is one of the most accurate barometers of artistic merit there is. You're probably one of those Avatar fags as well. Always defending zero impact slop.

I remember actress playing evil android going absolutely anti white rabid craze during Floyd bonfires and then her career ended
it was weird to see because she's not even American

the original movie is the greatest science fiction movie ever made and this dogshit “sequel” has nothing to do with it, neither in themes nor tone nor visuals.

That's exactly the same idiocy morons said about the first movie. And oh look, it became a classic on tape when people could actually think about what they just, ruminate on it, dissect it a bit, give it a chance rather than blurt out the first retarded opinion they can think of when the credits roll.

Still better than capeshit. God I hate modern movies so much. Stick to indie film.

character mopes with pistol

I hate this poster trope.

Because pseuds shill it so hard despite the fact it's not good. It needs to be shat on for the sake of artistic integrity.

Nah, cultural impact means jack shit anymore. Generating a bunch of memes for zoomoids to endlessly spam like they're clever certainly doesn't mean the movie is good nor artistic. And movies can be good but not liked by the general mass population of low-iq popcorn munchers.

Someone has to be one of the first to watch a movie and to tell others it’s good. You’re just a sheep waiting for someone else to program you. And that’s actually okay sometimes - no one has the time to be tastemakers in all matters. But at least be self aware when you’re just following the crowd dude. Your opinions on a field of art are meaningless if you don’t have enough confidence to try find the diamonds in the rough. Your opinions on film are meritless.

did you tip your fedora and scratch your neckbeard when you typed that?

objectively false on the basis alone that it had faggots seething to where they were fucking making songs about it
youtu.be/wzDIClx-_pY

That is a complete false equivalency and gaslight. BR2049 is not an overlooked gem and that's the point. The market got it right.

The same flaws BR2049 had spilled over into Dunc pt. 1. But he memed harder this time and got people to buy into it. Dunc 2 distinctly did NOT have the same flaws and is a better made movie. Though still flawed in completely different ways than Dunc 1 and BR2049.

The minecraft movie looked better than this.

he’s the final boss of shitty pseud directors

i liked it for she

brr.jpg - 1600x1067, 96.55K

First half of BR 2049 was great scifi. It's the harrison ford parts that bring down the whole thing. A hypothetical third movie that can finally move on from being a sequel-callback-memberberry movie and just do its own thing would be fantastic.

the first half of fucking your mom was great intercourse. it’s the menopause parts that bring down the whole thing.

I now know the thick bush she's hiding between those legs

Hey you know what would be cool? If android had another android do her nails while she commanded drone strikes that nearly killed the protagonist because she wasn't paying enough attention and the scene was pants on head retarded due to how interface made zero sense

I liked this sequel except for the fact it’s a sequel, I think a third sequel should not be a sequel

Why are 2049 fangoys so braindamaged

Was this made in UE5? It has a ton of shitty lighting effects that completely dilute the contrast.

I saw BR2049 and Annihilation at the same theater complex within a month of each other and I distinctly remember enjoying Annihilation more. I even gave BR2049 another chance on home release and nope. Still mediocre. It's overrated especially in the cinematography category. In the same way Interstellar is massively overrated in it's cinematography. It's a literal Emperor's new clothes situation. People get memed well before the movie even comes out that the cinematography is gonna be great and then they believe even though it's not in cases like BR2049 and Interstellar.

He’s 90% of the movie.

You didn't even watch the film.

You are correct. Grandpa is the worst part, and the plot related to him and Rachel makes no real sense.

doesn't look like Blade Runner

Actually it does. It’s closer to the source material than the nip nightmare that 80s cars and stereos had amerifats worried about. This is like when people pissed and shat themselves because the Cyberpunk game had daylight, didn’t have constant rain and wasn’t just one city because y’know BRADE RUNNA. You people are fascinating studies in retardation.

Joi is great too.

why do you want a woman telling you how to jerk off?

Both movies are kino

cultural impact

Who gives a shit? I like the movie because I enjoyed watching it, simple as.

To accept Villeneuve as a quality director is to garb yourself in a coat of hot pockets and video games and then writh around on the ground in a supermarket while screaching and slapping yourself on the sides of your head. He is cheeto dust. Nothing more.

Nothing more than a hack, a useful tool for studios to trot out to say "Hey, we're making art house!" I cannot wrap my head around the adulation he receives, let alone the wide praise this has got. The film trudges from set piece to set piece, leaves us no real questions or anything to think about really.

2049 was a culmination of hackery and evident of the intellectual dullness of his previous films. The man is simply a proficient illusionist. He knows who to surround himself with. For instance,he employs the likes of Roger Deakins to photograph his movies with IMDBlike sensibilities in order to hijack the approval of impressionable film buffs looking for the next piece of “cinema” to fawn over. Then he calls up Ryan Gosling, still enjoying the indie spoils of his Drive fame, in order to drown 2049 in arthouse approval.

The same bullet that kills a capeshit fan will also kill the Villeneuve and Paul Thomas Anderson fan. They come from the same root, from the same doritos stained console. They are frauds, and as a warrior of cinema it's my duty to expose the fakes and the inauthentic when I see them. I will fight with crawls and teeth until the last imposter is fallen to the ground

I have about as much respect for denis villeneuve as I do for the dogshit on my shoe. It is reddit. It is video game hotpocket. It is capeshit. It is cheeto dust. I'm literally screaming right now and slamming my arms down on my desk just thinking about it.

It is the most depraved video game infantilized manchild degeneracy. It is saturday morning cartoon. It is non-neurotypicality. It is memes. It is video game. It is tarantino. It is imdb.

didn’t read

It’s closer to the source material

I haven't read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep but I highly doubt the world was supposed to look like a fake overly lit, zero depth of field movie set that even manages to make practical sets look like soulless overly crisp cgi with zero visual texture. I mean call me crazy but I would bet that wasn't what the source was going for.

"Ohhh, you don't like real girls" will be a defining meme for the coming century

I haven't seen any of his other films but I thought he did a pretty good job adapting Dune. As a fan of the book I have some nitpicks about things he chose to leave out/change but it's just not possible to do it perfectly. I don;t even necesarily hate the changes to Chani, I think her being a little more apprehensive of Paul at first and not approving of his methods adds some more depth. Just some of her lines come off kinda cringe and out of place in the story, and I'm whatever on Zendaya's performance

It's not a sequel though. The harrison ford parts are idiotic fan fiction made up decades after the fact and impossible to pretend they are a serious follow-on from the first movie. kek, not surprised an idiot like you wouldn't get that.

He did a horrible job though. Literally the worst of the adaptations and that's saying something

Literally the worst of the adaptations and that's saying something

That's just untrue, the ending of Lynch's Dune literally spits in the face of the main theme of the book and frames Paul as a perfect hero. I do think it did some things better but such a glaring flaw easily makes it the worst adaptation

Blade Runner 2049 left three things: Ryan Gosling memes, Ana De Armas being cute, and Harrison Ford wearing his Saturday afternoon clothes.

The rest of the film is GARBAGE.

Kek, I wanted to post this movie without even looking at the poster.

Kinda defeats the whole purpose of what Wallace is doing if his most trusted replicants are lying to him. And seemed like she was just far more concerned with replicants obtaining reproduction but not necessarily in line with Wallace's ambitions.

This isn't talked about in normie circles because of the embarrassing nudity. The huge Ana De Armas in theater basically seeing a 60 foot naked woman my dad got really blushy and he is too conservative for that. Probably a boner too but didn't check lol

Also the part where they go to Vegas and these incredibly huge nippled women statues are there and then there is a part where a naked woman gets tortured by Jared Leto. Its too erotic for people. It had good cultural impacts though and people get the references even if they hate the movie.

This. in a nutshell.

It's one of those situations where the supporting ancillary media is a thousand times better than the actual thing it's connected to. Like it's kind of depressing how absolutely mediocre the movie is compared to the kino prequel animation that came out with it.
