Oliver says in the documentary that “none of us [were] thinking stereotypes” when these casting decisions were originally made, which is why the show ran for two seasons with “the Black character the Black Ranger and the Asian character the Yellow Ranger.” It wasn’t until “my assistant pointed it out in a meeting one day”

So he's admitting to being mentally retarded?

Damn. Blue ranger is packing some heat

What was the point of the red ranger? Colors and his behaviour suggest he should have been a leader type, but the green ranger absolutely mogged him in that role.

Wasn't he the defacto leader? Especially when the green ranger was "evil"?

It's like that most of the time, people are just doing their thing until a busybody killjoy cunt shows up and assumes everyone is just being evil and racist and misogynistic and homophobic and shit.

He was the de facto leader until Green appeared.

Blue ranger is zesty. Blue ranger is light on his feet. Blue ranger plays for the other team. Blue ranger is a refugee from Sodom. If you catch my drift.

He was the leader most of the time, the green was the sixth ranger.

This show gave me yellow fever.

Yes, but what was his role after Green Ranger? Just a guy who sticks around? Literally, the least memotable of all rangers.

I like the White Power Ranger and her cool lightning bolt.

It was nearly 30 years since I watched it but wasn't Green the more renegade and domineering leader who was reckless while Red had a rivalry with him and rallied everyone when they felt like giving up?

Reminder: JDF was a fat loser

Got a big dick tho

behind the scenes footage

Billy and Trina are trying to act professional in front of the camera

Tommy comes up and starts mogging the camera

Tommy starts calling Billy gay off camera

can see the shadow of Tommy giving Billy the middle finger stretched across Billy's face

Blue nigga fluent in Polari

you can trust Blue nigga with your sister

he’s a reverse engineer

a rear admiral

this nigga be a man’s man

Jason was the leader. Tommy was a loner type, was constantly late to fights or losing his powers, and was being turned evil every other major story arc. Green Ranger Tommy would've been a terrible leader.

Also did gay porn because he was piss broke and couldn't get a job after PR money dried up.

This was debunked years ago.

Your hero got his cheeks busted. Cope.

It's true. Not even the black or yellow ranger actors realized it until it was too late into production to change.

Green Ranger Tommy was the rogue badass. It wasn't until he went white and started leading the team that the position of red ranger became completely redundant.

David Yost used to babysit JDF's kids. They were friends. All of the abuse he got for being gay came from the production team.

Blue nigga a Subaru owner

he's a friend of Dorothy

he knows about color coordination

blue is good at piano, but sucks on the organ

nigga knows show tunes

he delicate

Why would he tell anyone he is gay? Especially in the 90s? Do Americans really tell their life stories to random people?

No idea, they might have just assumed based on his demeanor. I love Billy and Yost, but he doesn't exactly radiate heterosexuality.

Pointing out and realize what? Reality? Anyone who don't think that the yellow ranger should be Asian and black should be black deserves to be shot.

I miss Thuy so much bros

Did you have good tastes as a child? Which seasons were your favorite and which one were your least favorite? I never realized how poorly received Turbo was until I was an adult.

MMPW > Turbo > In Space > Zeo > Lost Galaxy > Wild Force

I loved everything from the Zordon era, since those were the seasons I watched as a kid. As an autistic adult who went through every season over a two year period not that long ago, I'd say that the two standouts are In Space and Time Force. Both have good enough of writing that they border on being good, watchable shows in their own right that go beyond just being enjoyable by PR standards. Honorable mentions to Lightspeed Rescue and Lost Galaxy on that front as well, though I don't think either are quite as good as the ones I mentioned previously.

Maybe the production guys figured out by the way Yost behaved, the "signs" that many gays have.

MMPR=Space>Zeo>Turbo>RPM>Dino Thunder >all the other trash

If you decree that the Black Ranger is not allowed to be a black guy, that's just as racist as saying that he has to be a black guy. Same thing for an Asian Yellow Ranger.

I thought it was interesting how both LG and LR have a black Green, brunette Yellow, asian Blue, and blonde Pink. TF bucks the trend but also has an asian Blue. I'm not calling racism or anything, I only noticed in the LG/LR crossover.

is not allowed to

Who is actually saying this though? Also leftists are one more racism away from claiming a person's skin color should directly effect which ranger color they have to be anyway, just like with voice acting.

A bunch of seasons are available to watch free on youtube, I've been putting it on to have as what the kids call "second monitor" content and was going to barely pay attention to it but I started with Lightspeed and am currently on Time Force and there are too many times when Power Rangers has my full attention.

Didn't they do another black guy black ranger some years later?

kino rangers

all Anon Babble cares about is black people and a gay dude

It's all so tiresome.
