Should the show have ended here?
The Walking Dead: 8x16 Wrath
Yes and Negan should have died, it was the perfect moment for an ending really
Negan should have died
Why? Rick sparing Negan is meant to be the culmination of his character arc
It should have ended after the season on Hershel's farm
This. I'm pretty sure only the prepper crowd watches this shit still. Everyone who still watches this shit, retardmaxxed
should have killed morgan instead of carl and then killed rick for real
I feel like carl dying would have had a bigger impact on rick though.
then killed rick for real
This I agree with, would have been a perfect ending for rick.
killing carl ruined the entire narrative structure of the show, because he was the protagonist's central motivation
all because AMC was too jewish to pay his actor adult rates since he had just turned 18
right after his family had moved to georgia to make filming easier too
Show should have ended after S01E01. Barring that, the next best jumping off point is the arrival at the Gates of Alexandria.
killing carl ruined the entire narrative structure of the show
Maybe this could have remedied if the show ended with season 8. Also to be honest I don't want to imagine Chandler Riggs being the center of the show for the rest. His acting never failed to make me cringe.
this serie shouldve been amazing how the hell did they manage to fuck it up so hard
Oops this is meant for
Majority of problems come from AMC being massive jews constantly undercutting the show, shit like forcing them to double the season length without upping the budget or killing off characters because they won't want to pay them anymore.
What if he never left the show?
Walking dead was the only show that had literal dogshit episodes and genuine kino episodes back to back. It was extremely jarring to watch and you'd never know if you'd see some CW soap opera drama or some genuine Cormac McCarthy "The Road" carrying the fire certified KINO.
For me the perfect ending would have been Negan just killing Rick and taking over the community with the show ending as Rick dies. Not in an edgy way but more that life goes on and hope in the next generations beyond your own existence.
He had a script laid out that walkers would become more human over time while humans would become more monstrous over time to the point where somewhere along the way the humans becomes the inhumane side while the walkers were the peaceful ones.
It could have either been kino or the biggest schlocky bullshit ever. Only the best of the best could have pulled a script like that of, and while Darabont is cool I'm not sure he would pull it off.
Andrew Lincoln was way too fucking talented for this slop
m-me, you mean ME?!
you still don't get it
NONE OF YOU DO!
agreed. this and the snot bubble scene were so good. people meme about him finding out lori is dead and that carl put her down but it's a realistic reaction
TSMT
The meme was just using that reaction for any insignificant thing because of how dramatic the performance is. I don't think anyone actually thinks Andy's acting is bad there. He consistently carried that show
Excuse me
It was that weird era where people really tried to elevate comic books. It was before Marvel became the huge social phenomenon (joke) that it is now.
I mean look at this scene from season 2. This is the season Anon Babble was making fun of when it released. Just compare the quality of this scene with modern television. It's straight up kino compared to modern shit. (or the joke TWD became)
Should have ended with rick waking up in the hospital
I de ided to finish the show after S3 to see this and negans arc and I was kinda underwhelmed by this part. Didn't help that the whole episode felt like any other til that point and that season was a slog
Yes in my head-canon the series ended with rick breaking down under the tree, that's the best cope I can come up with.
It's Andrew Lincoln showing everyone on that set how to act. Even in Negan's introduction where JDM is chewing up every scene he's in, Andy still mogs him in the scene with Carl's arm where he cries so hard he has a snot bubble. No one on that show came close to Andrew
I wonder if Andrew's eyes were actually that red or if it was just makeup
show deviated so much from the source material we never got Rick x Negan post war kino
let alone get the true ending to the series with adult Carl and Sophia telling the story of Rick to their daughter Andrea
Season 1 chaos
Season 2, settlement, ruined by zombies
Season 3, settlement, ruined be humans
That's it, this was all the ideas.
After that it an endless repeat of "settlement, ruined by humans" over and over and over and over
comic is better
won't disagree there but JDM and a few others were strong in their own ways, in JDM case he was so cartoony that the whole lean thing is ingrained into my cultural memory, I really wish Daryl's bro didn't die so early but that car alcohol death is possibly best death in the series, didn't care much for the Whisperers but the tall mongoloid slasher guy had his own special quality to him
show should've ended with a little wasteland girl doing recon on a desolate house looking for supplies and handling a walker before an older grizzled woman in a cowboy hat call's out to her, its Judith and her daughter and Rick's line have persisted, daughter runs up to the mother she says some lesson, the end
kino
the way the plot should have gone is that there should have been some fucking way to find a cure, not for the already infected, but to prevent anyone else getting infected. Otherwise the whole thing is an excercise in an obviously lost cause. The world is never going to be good if some demonic force is animating dead people forever. If that is the case, those who killed themselves were the most logical. I can't understand what the motivation is if there is no hope
just go extinct and stop trying
because decades later when you die... someone must be sure you stay dead
its not worth it
l4d2 introduced me to Clutch
TWD cemented them as my favourite band
thank you, mid 2010s zombies craze
how the hell did they manage to fuck it up so hard
much like the comic, they have zero ideas about moving the plot forward
Unironically yes. The world already sucks ass. Imagine being born into a world where zombies are just a fact of life. How depressing. It also raises existential questions like "why does this only affect humans, are we cursed or something?" I would take walkers coming into existence as a sign from God that it's time to go the way of the dinosaurs.
The comics is overall more consistent but I think the highs of the show actually surpass the comics
