What is the fascination/obsession people have with Neil Breen and his shitty movies? Wouldn't you rather spend your time watching something actually good? It all comes off as total reddit fodder

Yeah having fun and laughing with your friends is reddit fodder. Great thread btw.

thanks enjoy your shitty movies

Neil Breen has a pure and undiluted vision with a very narrow moral compass. This makes funny to watch with friends, unlike Tommy Wiseau he also a decent sized catalog

People like laughing at retards. That's why we also here in your thread OP.

Same fascination you have with the village crazy when he's mumbling nonsense to himself.

That's why we also here in your thread OP.

yes saar

is this the rlm thread

AIEEEEEE IM WASTING MY TIME CONSUMING BAD MEDIA WHEN I SHOULD BE CONSUMING GOOD MEDIA INSTEAD

Who cares?

Why do you have an issue with people finding enjoyment in how bad his films are? Who made you the arbiter of what should and shouldn't be watched?

i see, so its something you watch when you want to feel superior to an idiot with no talent

now i understand

Ego project films are interesting to watch and funny but turning them into some cringe Rocky Horror thing is peak Reddit

niel is a visionary

but turning them into some cringe Rocky Horror thing is peak Reddit

this is the thing I have an issue with

haha lets all gather around and watch a shitty neil breen movie, we'll laugh at all the bad parts because the fact that we're laughing displays how good our taste is! we know it's bad, that's why we're laughing at it! you think we would watch something like this unironically?? hell no!

You have autism and it shows.

youre just mad because im pointing out the obvious

The only thing obvious is that you lack friends and are also retarded. Do better

this is a VERY autistic take

It's "obvious" to you because you clearly lack the ability to understand basic human behaviour. No normal person looks at a group of people watching a Neil Breen movie and makes the (completely wrong) assumptions you make.
You.
Have.
Autism.

youre just unwilling to do anything past a surface level analysis of why people enjoy these movies

bro, they're fun movies, its not that deep. combining complete incompetence with sincerity creates magic

People want to laugh

Seek out something that makes them laugh

There. There's the analysis. That's the ONLY analysis. Anything beyond that is just you projecting.

its not that deep

that's the ONLY analysis

the last refuge of the lazy and incurious

thanks for proving my point

Neil’s films are very influenced by the Dark Enlightenment and Nick land

I didn't need your permission.

I'm afraid it's actually that simple and because you quite clearly have more autism than friends you're not understanding it.

If you love film, it's good to watch a truly bad movie on purpose from time to time - it makes you appreciate good movies so much more.

That aside, Breen is very obviously self aware these days, and is just making shite on purpose, which is absolutely not the kind of bad movies anyone should be watching, ever.

What is the fascination/obsession people have with Neil Breen and his shitty movies?

There are a lot of unfulfilled people out there, and they get a kick out of seeing someone fail. 100% of the people that laugh at Neil fully believe they could make a better movie.

Sure, it's fun to laugh at a idiots, but there's a large number of people that will feel better about themselves because they see someone else fail at something they've never even attempted.

It's a toxic mindset, and they'll defend it with

it's so bad it's good!

or some variation of

they're just harmless fun! Don't think about it too much

But that's just it. It's a subconscious thing. They legit don't know that they aren't watching for fun, but to feel better about themselves, and they won't realize it until they're too old have ever done anything with their life.

You’re a fucking faggot dude.

Midwits make posts like this to make themselves feel far more intelligent than they actually are.

Breen is very obviously self aware these days,

i did get this impression from his recent movie and it was terrible. not even bad in a good way. doubt ill ever watch it again, but ill watch the shit out of fateful findings

Reminder: there’s no ego or vision in the shitty movies. He makes them so he can write off prostitutes as business expenses.

He's no Wiseau

breen has a better track record. all tommy wiseau has is the room, everything else he's done has been shit because he tries too hard to make it bad on purpose now

Does that also apply to normieslop where people do the same thing like Morbius and of recent times A Minecraft movie

Never met anyone who watched Neil Breen movies who wasn't a loser

Yes

It's not seeing the movie because you want to see it, it's just you spending time and or money to let everyone around you know that you too are in on the joke and know the references involved

i can't enjoy something if i don't think it's at least a little worthwhile.
watching something specifically because it's bad seems boring and it's also pretty mean-spirited.
i'll never understand people who describe things as "so bad it's good".

You are analyzing people's enjoyment of bad movies by projecting your own need to feel superior onto them.

Because absolutely nobody else could do what he does. It’s constant stimulation by fascination. In other words, soul

The Birdemic trilogy shits on Neil Breen and The Room

Birdemic sequels

I can't enjoy anything where the creator is clearly "I'm making this bad on purpose"

Most of all cause it’s normally not even that bad or unique if they try that

The first one was a legit attempt but 2 and 3 yea were bad on purpose but I don't care because they were entertaining.

The Room is all he needs though

1 is really funny, 2 is too self aware and 3 is almost unwatchable on a purely technically level

The fascination obviously comes from the fact that Neil Breen (and other filmmakers) clearly make movies that are hilariously dogshit, yet the guy himself seems unaware of this, and is genuinely attempting to realise some kind of creative vision that they actually believe is good. Neil Breen (and others like him) also has seemingly zero capacity to actually understand that what they make is a hot garbage. That is both really funny and fascinating at the same time. Thats why people enjoy it.

3 he went way too overboard with the cameras and audio and even captioning which halfway through the movie didn't even match what was saying so either you loved it with drunk friends or you hated it no middle ground. IMO its 1 > 3 > 2. Two was all over the place and just ended as it was picking up.

its the self indulgence also that carries these movies, casting themselves makes it infinitely funnier. The Room or Twisted Pair would not work if they got some random person to act in it

hyper autism and not the good kind
