Old henry

Hell or High Water
No Country for Old Men

Torture porn is the most subversive and degenerate genre of film that exists. You're out of your mind.

Go away christcuck.

dumbass retard

Ravenous

ehhh hostiles is pretty good, very doomy gloomy though you may roll your eyes at one point. the revenant both are "damn the old american frontier was fucked" to the extremity

Ravenous is genius if you haven’t seen that watch it.

I liked the remake of 3:10 to Yuma.

it's superior to the original

Never Grow Old with Cusack is the only modern Western that is on a similar level to BT. All of its director's movies are pretty based

The Missing 2003

i think a lot of people say this

Fuck you

Hostiles problem wasn't the doom and gloom IMO, it was the way they showed the captive injuns as invincible warriors. Even the women, children and getiatric old men were hyper lethal superheroes that killed enemies in droves. Even while chained up! Meanwhile the fitter, fighting age white combat veteran soldiers that escorted them all died like bitches. It's so annoying.

I've seen better westerns without the usual slop recipe you get from the department these days.
Stupid christbeaner. That's literally just one scene and it's at the climax of the film. This film treats violence as an abhorrent and swift act. That's why it's good. It doesn't really on constant action.

well yea that too. but too many "AWWW NOO" moments in the movie imo

It's literally a jew film about pagans being bad.

First season specially is very, very good.

These
Not quite a western, but Brimstone is almost really good

pagans ARE bad. enemies of civilization that must be crushed

Anyone who isn't muslim is a pagan.

unfortunately for you, durkadurkism came after christianity, the one true religion, according to which all others are pagan cults that merit perpetual hellfire for their followers or even mere sympathizers.

Ebert did NOT like this movie. Regarding the scene where that guy gets cut in half:

this is the most embarrassing and gratuitously cruel scene I’ve seen in a long time.

The Settlers (2023) was pretty good

After watching I looked into the true story the films based on and found a gem of a story.
The main character was a Scottish soldier that ended up in Patagonia around 1900 and almost singlehandedly wiped out the indigenous tribes there.
I found an old forum post from some american tourist that wandered into a museum exhibit in Paris all about these killings in Patagonia, the exhibits tour guide ended up pointing out the skull of this Scottish soldier sitting on display and explaining all the horrific things the man did. The american tourist asked too many questions about this guys skull and then revealed to the tour guide he happened to be some descendant of the scottish soldier and was technically part of his clan, the guide quickly shuffled on and left the american stare at his forefathers skull in the museum.

Horizon Part 1
Part 2 comes out soon

Hostile's problem was that rather than gradually having the bigoted protagonist grow more tolerant, he just totally flips to the injuns' side at some point during the first act. Also the finale where they kill a white dude to steal his land just felt hypocritical rather than poetic.

Ebert died two years before the movie was released.

Is it some sort of pozzed native panegyric that wants me to feel bad?

The Revenant
3:10 to Yuma
True Grit
American Primeval was a good recent mini series

The main character was a Scottish soldier that ended up in Patagonia around 1900 and almost singlehandedly wiped out the indigenous tribes there

Based, whites really are superior, thirdies better stop pushing their luck cause once the boomers die out white guilt does out and we'll take back what's ours

The Good The Bad and The Weird

I'm watching Deadwood for the first time and it's amazing.

The Assassination of Jesse James

giwtwm, I've seen that show maybe 10x over and over am i autism!?!?!

The Proposition. The Aussies had their own wild west with abbos instead of indians.

Ravenous and the Coen’s version of True Grit.

Bradu Pittu's best role. Shamefully underrated.

Pre-release special screener copy.
t. trust me, bro

Tombstone
The Quick and the Dead

Not as modern but I still think they count given the era most people think of when they hear 'western'.
