I tried playing it but the movement and combat felt so awkward. Like there was a delay, and because of how half-baked it was the developers were kind enough to make it so dying had effectively zero consequences, meaning the only motivation is the story, which may or may not be decent, I don't know, I never finished it. The puzzles and level design were also pretty bad. Made BotW/TotK look like a masterclass.
All I wanted/expected was Uncharted: Star Wars Edition, and everything about it seemed to be just that, except with more busywork in the form of arbitrary upgrades and Prime-style exploration laced with generic, AI-generated lore, much like the EU itself. And while the aforementioned could be avoided, the gameplay just being plain bad and unresponsive, with a cast of characters with the combined personality of a carton of rice cakes, made that expectation of Uncharted: Palpatine's Deception seem like a pipe dream.

From what I've heard, it's actually the opposite. Disney wanted to include him, but EA of all people told them to piss off because they don't trust them and they own the character. I find it interesting to compare and contrast how the PT and ST did, both at the time and later on.
TFA and TPM both had similar hype trains that slowly died when the honeymoon period was over and got judged more harshly later on. Except TPM got given some credit later for the parts it got right, while TFA was further mocked for shit people passed over on the first go.
TLJ and AoTC both had front loaded box office turnouts that promptly cratered and are widely considered the worst of their trilogies except by contrarians. Later, AoTC wasn't reevaluated, but it was given some leeway because at least it's not the worst. Meanwhile TLJ is commonly accepted as the movie that killed the brand.
RoS and RoTS both had lower initial turnouts due to their previous movies, but RoTS managed to gather some legs while RoS slumped over. Later, RoTS became widely accepted as the best of the PT, while the only debate about RoS is how much of its low quality was inevitable due to the previous movie fucking everything up.
There is still no consensus on which the best movie of the ST is, because they're all such varying levels of terrible that it depends on if you hate laziness and pandering more than pretentious hypocrisy or general pants on head retarded writing.
