Here's your Johnny Cage, Anon Babble.
Here's your Johnny Cage, Anon Babble
I feel like they cast Urban for this role because he dies in it. Nothing else makes sense
Horrible casting.
In context, I think it works.
Obviously Johnny should be played by a BIG name, gigachad handsome type... but none would sign on to a fucking Mortal Kombat movie.
So, they did their best and made him look like a pompous ass.
I'm just happy they are at the tournament, I didn't mind the first flick and looking forward to this one
Johnny is going to be the white guy character you are supposed to find lame, it's all very tiresome, they are just using this as a way to hate on whitey (again).
Disagree. Johnny is supposed to be the draw, his foreshadowing in MK1 got people interested.
I'm expecting lovable asshole (RDJ Tony Stark) attempt.
This is Hollywood though, could be wrong. I'm sure enough of the message will fit in with Sonya sucking off Jax.
Look at the framing of this picture and tell me none of those characters say some funny quip about Cage's inexperience.
Looks like crap already
More like mortal flopbat
They've always done that though. Nobody takes Johnny seriously, but then he does end up kicking ass.
This is probably his first fight and he'll win.
Johnny is about to fist bump Skorpion in that photo, immediately afterwards they are going to tag team murder the diversity squad behind him.
How come only non-white characters get rewarding personality enhancing rewrites but never the white ones? Imagine Urban giving a Rachel Ziegler-style interview about how Johnny Cage is actually going to be strong and brave and not comic relief. Keep eating the slop.
I want a gorey satiric tournament not a heckin woke reddit quipfest
No need to get hostile, I generally agree with you.
They're going to make fun of him, but that still fits the character. Will they get blatantly anti-White? I dunno. But he's supposed to be the draw.
Dogshit first movie
2nd dogshit movie
How did this get made
I agree, that is his character in the games, it's just really convenient, isn't it?
They got Karl Urban. They're not doing that.
OI SCORPION YOU CUNT
I hope Karl uses his Billy Butcher accent for the film lol
What is that supposed to me?
YOU MWORDERED MY WOIFE'S SON YOU BESTERD
Sure, but there's still a chance that thry'll go the route of him earning all their respect. I'm honestly not certain. Hollywood is shit, but they still want money; an awesome Johnny could get asses in seats.
*mean
Karl Urban is "cool" because he is now famous for being Butcher. He's not going to be lame.
It's going to be both, like a Starlord type reluctant hero. It's just tiring, you know if they changed the race it would be a different outcome.
Isn't Johnny Cage supposed to be a young stud in his prime?
Karl is 52
Karl Urban is 52 so if they weren't going to cast a young guy they should have just went with Scott Adkins.
maybe you dont know shit about MK, pal.
he was always cringe
MK
only zoomers refer to mortal kombat as MK
Johnny was a joke character in the game who was so unimportant the kreators removed him from the series after they had a pissy-fit over the original actor being featured in another game's advertising. I actually know a lot about MK. He was originally supposed to be Jean Claude before the actor dropped out and they changed the entire game's story.
What's more important is that for modern zoomies he could be considered the main character in a sense, just behind Raiden & Liu Kang as Sub-Zero and Scorpion become more personally intertwined as opposed to impacting the wider setting.
I don't understand when Liu Kang stopped being the main character and I really hate it. I think Ed Boon tried diminishing his importance after John Tobias left to go make those shitty games for Xbox.
Should have been Logan Paul.
the main character should be villain, like a MCU Thanos Infinity War
I like urban but he's too old
Ryan Reynolds would maybe be a better johnny cage
They already ruined Urban in The Goys and the first MK movie sucked anyway
So yeah it's all over.
I think he is as the series stands right now in MK1.
Raiden was kind of the main character in the original MK9 reboot era, but he was too powerful so Johnny started doing shit and became very central.
Oddly enough The Miz was campaigning to be Cage and I think he would have been great.
Cage should have been in the first movie as the protagonist and Kang should have been introduced in this one, instead he was some side character which made no sense and probably his role is even smaller in this.
Somebody really wanted an OC. Question is, who?
It was in the middle of the woke takeover and they didn't want to give audiences a white male protagonist. It was obvious Cole is was supposed to be Cage. The whole movie feels like a rewrite.
kek, this is what finally made me drop the boys.
the "bad guy" character is the most likeable thing about the show and you're supposed to somehow hate him
They could have just made it Liu Kang. I don't care if having Kang, Blade, and Cage makes it too close to the original. It works better than an OC.
I wish they would have gone in a different direction, honestly. In the original couple games it wasn't really clear who the good guys were and the idea of this super hero team didn't really exist. To me that is when the series took a dive. Raiden actually has a really bad ending in the first game that doesn't depict him as good and there weren't any alliances like in the second and third games. Once the movie and cartoon came out it became about the goodies vs the baddies and we have been on the ride for thirty years now.
