I guess technically that's the X-302, not sure if there was significant design changes between that and the final version.
Has there ever been a better example of contemporary sci-fi aesthetics than Stargate?
Remember when things were fun and crowd pleasing and sometimes you gave the audience what they wanted
Sometimes, sure, spurn your audience, but there was a time when we were allowed to have ships with beam weapons and teleporting nukes onto other ships and planets blowing up and big stupid gates in space with big stupid space battles
with big stupid space battles
Actually one of the things I always liked about Stargate is usually their big stupid space battles weren't completely fucking stupid. It wasn't like hard sci-fi military tactics or anything, but there was actually some thought put into it most of the time. Shit like the fact that the humans thought "hey why don't we just fucking teleport a nuke into their fuel tank" but the reason they couldn't always just do that was because Hermiod didn't like committing war crimes.
Giving the audience what they want is fascism, chud.
the Prometheus had a long history as a barely-functioning piece of crap stapled together with whatever they could get their hands on that week.
And it was wonderful. The 304s were peak aesthetics, but it was cheesy and stupid that they destroyed Prometheus and then next week "ok guise here's the Odyssey have fun"
Contemporary
Anon this shit is over twenty years old
I was honestly really surprised they kept the Prometheus around and active as long as they did considering all the issues it had. Makes sense when you consider how slow it was for them to churn out ships in the beginning, but man imagine being the officer given command of that thing while someone else gets to cruise around in a BC-304.
Based contemporary retard
Characters need a futuristic gun for their sci fi adventure
It carries a 50-round, top-loading magazine of Teflon-coated ordnance with a cyclical rate of fire of 900 rounds per minute.
It really was a stroke of genius choosing that as their main weapon of choice.
