Why do I love this movie so much?

youre gay

Loli vampires?

this

tfw no gf who will be 8 years old for all eternity

I would have gotten bored of Snaggletooth Dunst

I watched it for the first time a month ago or something, and I already want to watch some bits of it again.
If anyone wants to say Brad Pitt can't act I'd point out that he seems to be quite melancholic irl so as long as the character is melancholic, he doesn't need to. I felt for this guy. Fans of this series say they're glad it switched to lestat antics because louie's sadness is 'boring' but I found it appropriate and honest whereas the wacky antics of Lestat 'making the most of it' type guys stuck living forever seem like cope, 'forced fun'.
I liked the costumes, I liked how he watched movies. I like how the reluctant vampire concept makes you think about how it's not really different from being a meat eater human, we tell ourselves the same things to not feel bad.
I though that the casting and makeup was perfect - this is how romantic vampires look not any other way, bone white and statuishly beautiful

You're on the downlow, dude.

I don't know anything about you, how am I supposed to know why you liked it? tell me, or don't.

Cunny

because you should probably be on a list

You know kino

the show is even zestier

The series embraces the queer elements of Rice's work, which are only insinuated in the 1994 film adaptation, and deals with themes such as race and abuse.

I take it there is no loli vamp to make it worth watching?

turns an innocent child into his own loli play doll for all of eternity

How did this get made?

Kino melancholic atmosphere so very rewatchable

written by a woman

As always, the biggest degenerates.

queer elements

Only there for Anne Rice to masturbate to.

the zesty overtones canceled out the pedo undertones

Worse. They age her up so that she looks 16-18 but everyone still acts like she’s a 10 year old. Like they even do the scene where she’s begging them to fuck her and they look disgusted by the prospect, which is just absurd. The actress is hot as fuck too.

Female author.

when i was a kid i found my parents dvd of it hidden away somewhere in the house and i thought it was an actual real interview with a vampire. it scared me so fucking bad. it was like i found something made of pure evil that reinforced every childhood fear i had

Honest and accurate answers

kek

And that's a good thing.

This. Also why is the “loli” vampire basically an adult?

fpbp

I prefer the anime version.

it's pretty solid on some vampiric action, story, character development. it wraps up decently as well.

You couldn't get away with her being a literal kid today, not after Cuties.

The hollywood producers found it a touching, relatable story

I get that but they should have rewritten her since no man in his right mind wouldn’t have fucked her given that she is of age. It’s just weird

everyone talks about loli and forgets the european theater vampires had a human shota they kept around and drunk from

My good friends gf asked me for some vampire movie recommendations because I'm a filmchad and I gushed about Interview. She watched it and liked it but she assumed I was a gay for months afterwards.

Rightfully so.

anne rice was indeed a raging degenerate (god bless her for it), but claudia was clearly her way to cope with the loss of her daughter at an extremely young age. i found her character a lot more poignant after learning that. also dunst did a great job with her depiction, but none of the visual adaptations really capture the truly tragic and uncanny elements of claudia’s character.

It’s probably one of the only gay films that makes gay men seem like gigachads instead of sickly, weepy AIDS victims

I'm just going to report that this scene really cracked me up. Wasn't expecting Lestat to be so funny. lmfao

we need to bring back this kind of clothes. for people who've earned appropriate status

I honestly think this is Tom Cruise's best role.

what happens in this scene again? i watched this like 3 weeks ago but i don't know what the scene is from this pic

Because you’re a tranny fag who needs a bullet in the forehead

The series is better. I loved watching Les mock Claudia’s rape trauma

He makes a snide remark about her tits being small. lmao

As good as the movie is it does feel like a cliffnotes run through of the book. I haven't read it but I heard the movie is basically faithful, yet just intuitively it feels like there's a lot of detail getting skimmed over. Honestly I feel like a longer runtime and slower pace would've been preferable. It sets up this vivid world but doesn't really let the audience get immersed in it.

Because you am are a gay.
Lol,jk.
It's a good movie and unique.(even though it was stolen from white wolf it was very well written and you enjoyed it because there is not much like it.)

Yeah it’s a metaphor for the Vatican.

i’m mad that armand looks like this in the movie and not a qt ginger twink. why do they always race, age, and physiognomy swap him? it isn’t right.

The Dresden Files has the perfect vampires.

About as strong as Anne Rice or Underworld vampires except they have classic vampire weaknesses. Also they have a narcotic/anesthetic agent in their saliva which incapacitates and gets a human high allowing them to suck what blood they need and heal the wound.

it's not a gay film is why. neither lead is implied to be gay in the film even though it is in the book. in the film they decided to let it be different - that they're kind of tangled up emotionally in some way which is probably more to do with vampire turning than like 'muh i want sex with u mr man'. its more like regard and being the only beings of their kind, like how louis is lamenting there's only lestat to teach him and then grasping for armand as another

though that the casting and makeup was perfect - this is how romantic vampires look not any other way, bone white and statuishly beautiful

Based.
I am glad you enjoyed a movie.(no sarcasm, everyone else here just hates movies but you had a good day)
What did you think about the music?

Fuck twinks, Banderas was perfect for the role

CUTE!

100%
This movie is okay, but I definitely would have liked it more if it wasn't so gay
So if you love this movie it's entirely because you are a gay man

i’ve always felt the movie falls off a cliff in the whole europe section. it really loses its heart and soul when lestat is no longer in the picture. but honestly it’s kind of like that in the book as well, but it’s more interesting in the book because armand and the paris coven are more evil/fascinating and louis and claudia dick around in eastern europe and find some spooky classic vampires which is kinda fun.

Cruise was surprisingly great. Surprising because he's not really known as an actor who takes big swings like that and succeeds. A lot of bookfags and even Anne Rice herself supposedly hated the casting at first but even she admitted he did the role justice. My mom is an enormous, arguably unhealthy Rice/Vampire Chronicles fan from back in the day and she hated the casting too (she also just doesn't care for Cruise in general), but after rewatching the movie years later she came around to liking his performance.

The studio wanted established hot names, not young twinks. This movie only really got made because it rode the coattails of Coppola's Dracula which was sold on the same promise of star power.

Lol this DVD cover got me as a kid

i miss going to video rental stores as a kid and walking through the horror section just to look at the covers. i always imagined the movies were way darker and more lurid than they were in reality.

The ending with Lestat killing Christian Slater and driving off into the night blasting Guns N Roses is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've ever seen in a movie. Literally capeshit-tier.

in the early-mid 90s there was a subsect of the goth scene that actually thought they were vampires but they were basically just richkids

interview was profitable though?

I think it straddles the line perfectly. It reminds me of Griffith from Berserk in that, technically, there’s no true confirmation, but there’s a shitload of subtext. Nobody is making out on screen, nobody is getting sodomized, nobody is professing homo love for anyone, but the undercurrent is there. It just adds depth to the characters and story. Today, there would be no subtlety whatsoever, and you can refer to the modern show for proof of that. I think the only openly gay guy in the movie is Armando, and everyone in the movie considers him a faggot.

I remember the actors hating the notion that this film was about some gay romance drama about the two leads, and selling the movie as a romance between Louie and Claudia, which is hilarious in hindsight.

What did you think about the music?

Well, to be honest i didn't recall anything in particular except I remember how at the end Lestat turns on the car radio and it plays (a cover of) that stones I'm the Devil song, and I just looked up the movie opening and listened to that, and it's funny the contrast. The opening is such beautifully melancholic 'horror, but life is just such' Louis music and they clearly wanted the end of the movie to say "but now that that's done with, as you fans of the series know, it's gonna be fun from here on out!" *Lestat starts driving shagadelicly*

this isn’t a gay movie it’s a pedo movie!

Man Hollywood was just different prior to Weinstein’s departure

It was a better time.
