So how was that city Liandran is from allowed to have practices like child brides and shit? Wouldn't the tower have completely fucked them over for doing that? they didn't even seem to have any counter measures for if one of their women was able to channel with the way Liandran effortlessly BTFO'd them.

Yes. There's a lot of innuendo in the books but almost nothing explicit, and the innuendo doesn't even start until much later in the series.

Robert Jordan isn't a perfect writer by any means, but he did fucking think out the entirety of his fucking world and all of its major players ahead of time. If you think something didn't make fucking sense in that regard, it is because the show runners made it up

Book Liandrin's backstory is thus: She was from a peasant family, resented everyone who had more than her, became a darkfriend as a young teen, awakened how ability to channel with a minor Compulsion weave. She imitates higher class speech but when she's angry she sometimes slips back into speaking like the lower class dirt farmer she is. That's it.

There is maybe 4 fairly obvious sex scenes in the whole series and they're all basically "cut to black" then laying in bed afterwards. Everything else is up to the reader to figure out the implications, as novices in the tower initiates are not allowed to even consider getting a boyfriend so some turn to having sex with their dorm mates, it's less being a lesbian and more like gay in prison. Lesbians all join the Red Ajah.

That is basically the only reason you would be able to watch it. The entirety of the fanbase is made up of non-readers, because the show is such an utter betrayal of the source material that most existing fans couldn't make it through the first fucking episode.
