Why dont they just kill death ?

Too soon, dude.

Smile shits all over this.

Smile is just depressioncore.
This is just fun.

The Smile monster is why you watch it, FD has fucking nothing but kills. That is fun to you? GOOD MORNING SAR

death is some invisible always present entity that apparently has control over coincidences and it can sync things up to create very elaborate traps and there is no place where you can hide from it.
so how would you even go about defeating it?

Defeat it with life.

but how?

Smile is just depressing in general, also too powerful for no reason.
And people dying in overly complicated ways has always been the appeal of the series.

They don't live in stranger aeons.

What if you start impregnating dozens of women after finding out you "have" to die? Will the children die, too, since they're not supposed to exist?

Death is such a petty prick in these movies. People get premonitions (aka its own design glitches) and it lashes out at the people rather than acknowledge the fact its own design has flaws

Watch them crank an absolute piece of shit of a sequel where they reveal that death is an actual demon that can be defeated or something dumb like that

After the original came out, the producers were mad because they couldn't advertise Death with action figures and merchandise. I'm not joking

Yes. The new movie deals with that

It's a cute concept but there's a reason the franchise has no staying power. It's because it has no memorable villain. Every franchise needs an iconic monster as its mascot. Death is way too nebulous and abstract

franchise has no staying power

six films and counting

Fulgrim Bait.jpg - 526x365, 43.54K

it has lots of sequels so it must be good

You must love the Conjuring movies too then, right?

Zero reading comprehension

I didn't say it was good imbecile.

Plebs, Death being an entity that you can't see but still sense is much more interesting that some literal monster.

They have no staying power as in, there's nothing for an individual audience member to get attached to or invested in. That doesn't exclude the franchise from being milked by greedy producers and mouthbreathing audiences. The Conjuring and Insidious movies are the same. It's more of a brand name guaranteed to get easy money, than an actual cohesive vision which is what a franchise is supposed to be

The Blair Witch is never seen on-screen either. But she's still a much more interesting and tangible antagonist than Death. Death just sucks. There's a way to do an invisible villain and they didn't do that with Death

Why don't I just jerk off to Brec?

Yeah, that's why it's a shit series for jeets. Nobody cares how powerful it is, just how it gets the protag and reveals itself.

Plebs

That's you. The Smile monster is fantastic and brings together great practical effects artists, and a great creature designer. FD is lame and because it has no monster, has to make the kills more gory, a lot like Saw or other torture porn flicks. It's dog shit.

Smile is violently derivative garbage, the first one is straight up laughable. Second one is a bit better cause the MC is better and the scale overall but it is still mediocre.
Final Destination movies are honest entertaining shlock. Smile thinks it's doing whatever Ari Aster or Robert Eggers are doing but in reality it's in the same league as another movie about creepy smiles - Blumhouse's Truth Or Dare. But much more insufferable cause it has a pretension on top of that, a pretension of being an "elevated horror" (which is shitty as well, so it's basically a movie trying to be shit and somehow making a shittier version of shit).

Didn't read. It has a budget and is backed by a big studio, hardly Blumhouse or something A24 could make, because the truth is it's much better and more interesting.

The FD movies aren't entertaining though. They're boring. They're not even enjoyable schlock like Friday the 13th or Saw. They're just downright boring and forgettable movies. White noise at best. Smile really isn't trying to be "elevated horror". The monster is a metaphor for psychological shit, yeah, but so are 90% of all monsters in horror. Elevated horror carries a very specific and conscious subcultural pretension to it. Smile, meanwhile, is timeless. You could've made it in the 90s and it would've been exactly the same

this gay

smile is good

shit I've been seeing here lately seems discord-influenced
then FD movies are way better than "ahh someone is smiling and now there's a stupid looking demon"

You could've made it in the 90s

Eh, it came out exactly when it did. At most I could see it possibly being made in the 2000s, but no earlier.

seems discord-influenced

Take your meds, retard. FD is not better it's just tortoure porn shit for zug-zug brain retards like you. "Ooo that guy got killed so brutally, there was so much heckin' gore, sir!!! Upboat!!!" Like fucking kill yourself if you think that's good. Smile has a practical effects monster that looks amazing. FD has a black mortician guy. GAY.

How will death win when we become able to upload our consciousness digitally (or indeed, biologically) and can make increasing numbers of backup copies over time ?

Better get that white lantern ring bucko

Defeat it with resurrection.

power outage, write error etc

We can agree that 1, the Smile shilling campaign on Anon Babble is weird and annoying, 2, Smile is extremely predictable and derivative (particularly of the Ring and It Follows), and 3, the smiles look more goofy than scary. But despite all of this, Smile is still a solid horror movie. Anyone with any basic knowledge or respect for the genre could plainly see that. It's refreshing because horror has been so shit for the past 15 years. What would've been a decent horror film in the 2000s now seems novel and refreshing in the 2020s

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention. I've literally never met anyone in my life say they like the Final Destination movies. I had no idea they even had fans. Smile is infinitely above that shit

"I'm not from a discord!"

types a big gay reddit-tranny-discord-style paragraph

lmao

the Smile shilling campaign

I'll take schizo theories for 100, Alex.

derivative (particularly of the Ring and It Follows)

Saying what anyone who's only has watched those curse chain movies would say. Classic. Do you NPCs ever have an original thought? kek Popularizing a thing doesn't make the initial thing better.

buzzword salad

You should kill yourself, but go back first.

people will create decentralised "back up copies " with different power sources on different continents or even planets, and if conscious is uploaded digitally, then copy errors can be hash checked.

death killing someone with bad luck will become as difficult as destroying all copies of the quran with bad luck.

The whole basic premise of the series is dumb as fuck and Bloodlines perfectly explains it to the most retarded viewer serving the perfect ending. You are marked for death, manage to cancel the massacre thanks to a vision right before the event but you are STILL MARKED FOR DEATH. It's literally inevitable. We're all going to die eventually.

and by the way

lmao fag
and try not being 20 years old
the last one came out 14 years ago, you and your kind aren't going to be talking about it

Do you NPCs ever have an original thought?

Do the screenwriters of your favorite films ever have an original thought? I think that's a better question

>and by the way

What? Who are you quoting? I didn't say that

t.

oh shit OP you just solved existence how will reality ever recover?

if seven hundred copies of you get deleted by super viruses and the one that remains is in hibernation mode, I think that's a win for death
