John walker is best MCU character
Thunderbolts* thread
Ahem
The Poojetas sister is cuter
He can’t be Captain America because he killed a terrorist.
The stupidest statement, Walker was fucking robbed
As stupid F&WS was, i think it's good idea if you have good writing
US veteran do excacly what US government wants him to do. For this he gets shitted all over by media and finally government abandonds him to save face.
Ex vet and ex cap full of trauma and abandoned by goverment and his own family is interesting premise for his character
erotic
going to be one the lowest grossing MCU films and fail to make a profit
Sequel never ever
he unironically did nothing wrong and it's funny how the shit falcon show tried to make him out to be bad
Maybe they could even salvage Falcon America if he and Walker have their thing where they muse over how they can't fill in the Steve-shaped hole alone and have to work together or something
Sam tells walker that he realized that no one can replace Cap, but they can work together to continue Cap legacy of making a world a better place
Now that would be a good way to make Sam character better while making him less of an asshole.
So true. Easily the best character they've got right now.
Isn't it doing good thoughever and isn't the "sequel" avengers anyway
Anyone else loved music in this movie? The only MCU movie i remember with original music that stand out so much was winter soldier.
youtu.be
he killed him after he surrendered, and in cold blood. He's not a good fit as captain america and that's fine, captain america should be a goody two shoes, a borderline shonen hero moralfag. He works better as US Agent. It just sucks that they act like Sam wilson was the real successor when he doesn't deserve it.
the bipolar superpowered guy was the most relatable desu
Walker actually getting decent characterization was such a good feeling. I know he gets shit on still but you're actually shown WHY he's acting the way he is, and how he potentially has some suicidal feelings over it.
This movie had no right being just the right amount of kino and lame to make it stick in my head.
Too late for that
He never surrendered. Both were still engaged in combat. Steve, like most shonen protags, has no problems killing.
this and sentry's theme were kino, i don't think i've ever liked a track from the mcu until now
Doom is gonna kill Bob in the next film or try to use his Void shit isn't he
he killed him after he surrendered, and in cold blood
His partner just got killed in action, it was absolutely not in cold blood.
He was in the right - but the aspect of using the shield to kill was the moment where he "tarnished" the Captain America title. In the scope of the show/Cap character anyway.
Seriously, I thought they'd just throw Walker under the bus but he has multiple moments where he shines. Everyone's on edge considering the situation they're in as well. Shame this movie has to be in the same phase as crap like The Marvels
when is bob gonna fix the shield
Next time he lets Sentry out. So just before he dies.
So just before he dies
lol who's killing sentry?
Shame this movie has to be in the same phase as crap like The Marvels
People are so burned out on Marvel shit and I totally get why. That this turned out to actually be good feels so bizarre.
he has multiple moments where he shines
Fuck I am glad they didn't end up making him the villain, holy shit.
Steve kills, but Walker already got his boot on that guys. He was rightfully pissed off by he still shouldn't have done that. Steve wouldn't murder someone by caving their chest in that was deliberate to show that Steve did the same thing to Tony,
I hate the fact that I love this team as much as I do.
This movie succeeded because of a series of happy accidents. Getting a new writer, Yeun and Ayo having scheduling conflicts, the re-cast being even better. It's just perfect. Hope it gets a physical release
Physical release with a cover you can flip that has Thunderbolts* on one side and *New Avengers on the other. Yes please.
care for some berry Anon Babble?
He had his boot on him and he was still fighting to get up, the guy was a super soldier so it's not like that was going to stop him anyway. Steve has thrown his shield at non powered people full force.
Walker is like an asshole big brother
Bob or Sentry on the outside with Void on the inside. Would be kino
He wasn't fighting to get up, he was pathetically acting like had nothing to do in killing his friend. Even so, throwing shield really hard at people is really not the same as intentionally trying to brutally murder people with a blunt object
He acted nice towards them and in return they teased him for overcompensating with his long barrel magnum. fucking women I swear.
It’s kinda shocking how Disney wrote him to Derek Chauvin a terrorist, and instead of punishing him he got the best ending possible by becoming US Agent. I mean they turned Doctor Strange into a cuck. They have no qualms about shitting on their heroes. Yet John Walker seems to be protected as hell.
Counselor for veterans with PTSD
Finds Walker unstable after having his friend killed
Fails to de-escalate
Beats him up with your cyborg friend
Steals his shield
Leaves
What a dick.
mcu character
more like an mcu villain
*his cyborg friend
bob's pov
Your boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes you cheer.
He wasn't fighting to get up, he was pathetically acting like had nothing to do in killing his friend
He was also going to stand back up. You can't say he wasn't engaged when seconds before he was throwing concrete at Walker. He didn't even know he took the serum so he was aiming to kill.
Even so, throwing shield really hard at people is really not the same as intentionally trying to brutally murder people with a blunt object
Steve had thrown it at people's necks. At the start of TWS he knocks a guy off a ship into the ocean and throws the shield at a guy so hard it breaks through class and sticks into a wall.
You know, Steve had a gun! People keep forgetting that for some reason. He straight up shot people in WW2.
It was a hot blooded kill out of grief if anything.
Honestly. John held the power in this scene, he could have probably choked him out, but he was destabilised by his friend's death. That does not make him a bad guy I'm any capacity, it just makes him human. The only person I blame in this scenario is Sam, because of his retarded approach to the issue.
What was with the morality of the Disney+ shows?
Sam used to carry SMGs. He tried to shoot Scott the first time they met. Imagine his he actually managed to hit him. Would the headline be "Avenger kills tiny unarmed man"?
No, because he’s black, and it’s okay when black men kill people. Just like when everyone cheered when Sam had Karli’s corpse in his arms, and as far as they knew, Sam was the one to kill her.
Sam is a sizeist.
'I hate them small people'
Midgets, children or Filipinos?
Thoughbethat, it will get a sequel.
Choking him out would’ve been pointless. It’d still look bad in public, and the dude could’ve broken out later. He should’ve just snapped his neck.
That's like saying "why don't cops just shoot people in the legs or shoot the gun out of their hand". Who's in control can change any second in a fight. That's literally show Lamar died minutes before. Assuming you've won is a quick way to lose.
That and manlets too.
He was consistently a bitch to Walker the entire time.
Man of steel fan, I see.
That's not nearly the same thing. People who say that never heard of the femural artery. Shooting center mass is the best, most humane thing you can do.
The team saving civilians towards the end is the best instance of that since Spider-Man 2. I’m glad they finally responded to the criticism of them not really doing that.
It’s supposed to be a callback to the first Avengers.
A choke hold isn't assuming you won, it's a finalization. One he's knocked out or dead (because there's always that risk when you're constricting the airways) then you won.
If Tony Star was already working on something to contain the Hulk back in Age of Ultron, I don't think one supersoldier should be that hard to arrest and transport, though, Marvel worldbuilding can be pretty bad at things like this.
Once he's**
It's really funny how quickly people changed their minds about Walker
kill a man in public
get stripped of the Captain America title and get your arm broken by Cap's wingman
some time later, save New York with a bunch of mercenaries that actually give the slightest bit of a shit about you
become an Avenger and an in universe meme, making the current Captain America(who broke your arm) seethe so bad he sues your team
wait what's the context for this
John is actually a sweet guy when he's allowed to be.
Scarlet Witch had a mental breakdown out of grief for Vision and conjures a hex on an entire town. This is what they tell her after she reluctantly frees the townsfolk.
That Scarlet Witch show started off pretty good, I enjoyed the different television styles.
A shame it got retarded with her somehow coming out of it as a good guy despite enslaving a town for god knows how long.
make her evil in the show
turns out she is good, she just made a "mistake"
immediately turn her evil again in MoM
???
So anyway back to the Thunderbolts. Do you think Alexei and Bucky get along or but heads? They're both the oldest members of the team but Alexei was a proud member of the USSR while Barnes was their slave.
I think they get along. Alexei is bucky fan because he is winter soldier #1 fan and also he has that kinda naive "lets be heroes n' shit!" thing of steve rogers.
seconds before he was throwing concrete at Walker.
yes and Walker easily brushes it off and then basically puts him on hold on the ground. The fight ended there. No matter how Steve killed and seriously injured people before, it was never personal or with execution style killing.
What is it with this movie and weebs? I haven't seen this much animu fanart since Spiderman's Hagmaxing Adventure.
It's about mental illness so of course the mentally ill animefags latch in to it teehee im in a void too :DDDD
The team dynamic is extremely anime. Yelena is kuudere, Walker and Ava are pretty tsundere, Bob is dandere with a OP dark side, and Alexei is the genki old man.
yes, I liked how a couple times they are all fighting/arguing but he stops and will get all military and know what the other side is about to do and everyone stops & listens because, sure, he's a huge dick, but when it matters he knows what he's doing & everyone around him automatically knows that. They just needed a bit more communication. But they learned over time by trial & error
ngl, Ava Starr and John Walker actually make a solid couple. Aside from Yelena and Bob, they’re the only ones I really like. Also, Ava’s smug faces? Top-tier, I live for that shit
Fuck I am glad they didn't end up making him the villain, holy shit.
Agree 100%!
I read about that "twist" they were going to use after I saw the movie and damn. That would have really fucked up the whole thing.
Glad they still have someone behind the scenes who is level headed & smart. Too bad that person wasn't behind the scenes of MoM. Most of the cut scenes were far better than what made it to screen. They dumbed it down.
I like to think thye'd get along, though I can see Bucky being standoffish to begin with. They both want the best for the team over everything else.
I don't hate that fact.
I knew when the movie was announced that I would love them all. I didn't even know who Sentry was. But I am a huge Anti-Hero fan & a huge fan of misfits. So it was kind of a low bar.
I was worried for a while that they would fuck it up. I liked the final product very much.
I am now extremely worried about how they Handle X-Men though. I will not be watching Fantastic Four which will be the first Marvel movie ever that I will not watch.
Or when everyone else is arguing on what to do he'll take the reigns and make a decision. Walker smashing the battery, making the jump for the ledge, and even taking down all the guards by himself when Yelena's plan failed. He was pretty much right about everything in the vault, he just came off as a know it all asshole about it
If I knew how to draw I'd be making a ton of art of them. They'd make a really cute couple
Back off fags Walker is for me.
Y'all are gonna make me see this movie, won't ye?
Walker might be impatient in the moment (understandable, given how they were about to be burned to a crisp) but he's had to make snap decisions before as a soldier, so he knows his shit.
I imaging this might have been his first time working with others after the whole Cap debacle. No wonder he takes some time to get used to it.
Couldn't hurt. Most theaters do discounts on Tuesday so you can see it tomorrow if you're curious.
Yet John Walker seems to be protected as hell.
Good.
As he should be.
It's a good character & they can do a lot with him that doesn't include emasculating him.
Captain America had only one regret, missing out on love & he rectified that in a cheating non-reality way.
US Agent can get his redemption arc & show that you can be a fuck up in life & do some shitty things, but still be able to save your soul
probably too dorky but whatever. I like stories like that
Counselor for veterans with PTSD
I totally forgot about that. And I think the writers did as well.
Because DAMN. he has turned into such an asshole piece of shit.
They wrote him as someone you're immediately dubious about in FATWS - makes sense, he's not Steve but a state-sanctioned Cap where Steve was willing to go against said government.
But with the pitfalls John has had, it shows that he's just as human as anyone, but also when he fucks up as Cap, it's something big. He absolutely deserves a chance to show that he actually is a good man, because he wouldn't have gone for the role at all at first.
What was with the morality of the Disney+ shows?
Tin foil hat time
I think writers & movie makers have been so coddled & pampered to the point they have no real world experience to write proper characters that they have been stealing regular peoples lives to use as their "inspiration"
Well, these real world people might be starting to see some weird shit, for example...dreams they have had end up being the plot of a new movie or whatever.
So now, they are subliminally trying to get those people to think, "this is for humanity! you are being gangstalked & you ideas stolen from you, but to entertain the world! And no one will know about it. You will always be nothing."
Or something similar
Multiverse of Madness was supposed to be about her becoming a villain by the end. But the writers didn't want another team to get to use her as a villain so they just skipped her character development. It's so childish it hurts, specially when these movies cost millions to make.
I am now extremely worried about how they Handle X-Men though
The director of Thunderbolts is in talks to direct an X-men project, so that's neat, hope he brings in the woman who rewrote the Thunderbolts script into what we got.
But he's not dubious, in fact he's entirely trust worthy. He's a three time Medal of honor recipient, has incredible physicality without the serum, a best friend, a loving wife, everything. It's not even like we see him being full of himself or an asshole in private, he's exactly the same. When talking with Lamar he talks about being nervous taking up the mantle and screwing up. With Sam and Bucky he tells them he's not trying to replace Steve but do as good of a job as he possibly can. You can't say being a "state sanctioned cap" is a negative when Steve literally was a state sanctioned Cap too. Steve's willingness to go against the government only came from his personal feelings being involved with the Bucky situation.
Team work makes the Dream work
only
It was mostly WWII romanticism with a dash of Bucky. Hell, Steve is opposed to the Helicarrier surveillance even before he knows Bucky is alive.
save New York with a bunch of mercenaries that actually give the slightest bit of a shit about you
It is the craziest brain thing out there.
I've experienced it. It's hard to explain.
But be isolated for YEARS. Family and old friends give ZERO fucks about you. Literally mock you to others & already talk like you're dead & gone.
Have some come along and show a tiny tiny bit of care, you want to do everything in your power to show them that it was worth the time they took to say hi or whatever & you will do everything & anything to make it up to them.
It's a powerful manipulation. I bet Governments do that to people. Because DAMN. You want someone faithful to you & will fight the world for you? That's how you do it.
Wait...that seems predatory. Huh.
Yes, the "On your left" was funny as fuck & I didn't hear it in the theater, but did when I downloaded it later.
They really destroyed that movie.
So many other things in it they fucked up when they originally had good ideas.
I watched it again the other night and damn does it still piss me off.
Yeah, I feel kind of bad because I didn't know a female wrote a big chunk of it.
I said it was as good as it was because it didn't have any females writing it.
They need more like whoever she is. Ones that doesn't rely on "Girlpower!1!" or taking all masculinity away.
No identity politics bullshit. No manhater bullshit.
Is she fixed or is she still in constant pain from her cells being ripped apart and put back together daily?
Yeah she's fixed. I wish we had a little more time with her to explain how she end up still working for government and all alone despite having Bill and And Man crew supporting her after Ant Man 2
Doom will use Bob a la Molecule Man
I assume Bill died in the five years since the snap. Plus most of the Ant Man crew got snapped too with Scott being stuck in the Quantum Realm. With that she probably went back to the only thing she knows and Valentina got a hold of her.
Apparently, she managed to fix it by using John cock, somehow
Walker's cumshots will keep her stable
She said as long as she wears the suit she is fine. It does ask the question on how she showers and washes the suit but whatever.
Walker x Starr brained
Ngl Beret US Agent has grown on me, it gives him a different "vibe" to Steve's helmet.
for me, it's my wife Ava
The dubiousness I'm talking of is how the audience has been kind of trained to be after the Accords and other gov interference. Anyone picking up the shield would be under scrutiny, especially since at the end of Endgame, Steve gave the shield to Sam. That it ends up in Walker's hands would make someone wonder why.
I love him as a character. That he's shown to be a good man, a veteran who wants to do right by his country and his family and feels that pressure of the title endeared him to me right away. The way they had Sam and Bucky treat him was frustrating.
If the whole issue was that he did it in public and minced his head with the shield, I would understand. But no, that wasn't what they were implying.
Him just punching Bob's dad in The Void without saying anything was fantastic. Would it help get them out of where they were? Probably not? Did he know it would be massively cathartic for Bob and he wnated to stand up for the dude? Absolutely.
when women tease you they're flirting with you. just putting it out there since a bunch of you can't read signals
