It's a standoff. Let's go

RLM won

Couldn't they have just continued to parry shots while slowly walking around the corner?

OBI-WAN, REMEMBER TO USE FORCE SPEED THE NEXT TIME WE FACE A POWERFUL ENEMY...LIKE A SITH OR SOMETHING
DON'T YOU FORGET, MY YOUNG PADAWAN

So this is the power of the looney toons

if you toggled force speed in that game mode where you had to play capture the lightsaber you could auto dodge sniper shots
like ur dude would just move his torso and the kid shooting at you would cry hax

Couldn't they use that sprint in the red-lazer-door hallway against Darth Maul???

No.

Mike during the Rise of Skywalker review: This isn't my fault

Rich: You don't know that Mike

I would assume it would be incredibly dangerous given the inertia of speeding like that.

I assume it would be extremely painful.

NO WEAKNESS

The movie was only minutes old and I'd already began rolling my eyes, and we hadn't even got to jar jar yet, what a total shit show. it beggars belief that anyone would unironically defend this complete pile of shit.

they ran out of speed ammo right after this scene

It was cool seeing "old Ben" as a padawan. Qui gon's character was really cool, a wise mentor whose humility never undermined his resolve or conviction. The worldbuilding was interesting too - political feuds causing problems for individuals who aren't even involved, tangible and relatable reasons for the plot moving forward. Anakin as a bright, heroic yet immature individual really underscores the way people can change when moved by tragedy. The lightsaber fights were WICKED, far better than anything in the OT; I remember them capturing the imaginations of the kids on the playground. My brother and I used to bring shortened pool noodles out to have swordfights, imitating our heroes. What an undeniable cultural phenomenon, something that couldn't be tarnished even by the jeering of a greasy obese jew and his entourage on youtube.

Except when he tried stealing a part using a mind trick.

they would risk running into a wall of lasers

they would risk impaling themselves on Maul's dick and becoming Super Homo Jedis

Yeah, his conviction and resolve were unfettered by his humility. Thanks for highlighting that point

The force is strong with this pasta

kek i forgot how retarded this looks

Good on you; "when you believe something, kill anyone who disagrees." Very upstanding.

Lightsaber fight. You and me.

rigging a diceroll to save a kid from slavery

murder

Starting to think there were ulterior motives behind the relentlessly negative perspective this film got from a certain demographic

I don't care about the logical issues brought up by this scene, what i care about is how bad Ewan McGregor's wig is. The reshoots are fairly obvious in all three prequels if you're looking out for them, but this scene in particular just sticks out.

Gambling is very moral (when you're saving a child from slavery)!
Outcomes always justify actions~
When the outcome is what I WANT, THOUGH, NOT OTHERS >:(

Apparently he kept dropping it while doing force speed and it got burnt up by the blasters, they had to replace it several times before getting the right take

This is the difference between Qui Gon and the jedi council. The council would demand he observe their draconian samurai code regardless of the stakes. Qui Gon, who recognized the chosen one from the jedi prophecy, was willing to use his control over the force to bypass a luck check on a deal that would benefit Watto regardless of the outcome. I know you prefer your characters black & white but Qui Gon was beyond that.

Didn't he leave Anakin's mother in slavery? Seems like a terrible person.

He was embroiled in fixing his ship to get Padme back to Naboo and emancipating the chosen one to be trained as a jedi. Freeing the mother would have involved running afoul of the hutts, something that would vastly jeopardize these other endeavors. After that, I imagine chartering a ship to return to some backwoods shithole planet run by criminals at the height of the galactic civil war would prove... difficult.
The bell curve meme is real

FPBP

bringing the mom with wouldve messed up the jedi brainwashing

They had run out of midichlorians.

Anakin did too. He was friends with a queen & galaxy wide chancellor but he can't pull some stings to help out his slave mother?

Either way, these some of the worst movies ever made.

No. Majority agree TPM is a masterpiece

OT>ST>PT

Did they go back and make the robots look worse at some point? I don't remember them looking so cartoony.

Majority agree that Minions movies are funny.

And Qui Gon made such good decisions, amirite? Tooooooooooootally justified to "act on whim." Everything was better and Annie was such a good choice.

asks Sidious for help

"everyone feels for you, young jedi. We'll do everything we can to save her, but this blasted war makes it so hard to get access to... twattterine, was it called?"

He says "stalemate" in that scene

Anakin needed to have some sort of "traumatic" event so that it could be later exploited during the "hero to villain" phase

But Lucas is such a shit writer that he couldn't think of a better event than having him abandoning his mom in slavery for no real reason.

I can say with 100% certainty that they are funnier than comedies meant for adults made in the last ten years.

Yes because they're movies for children

So are the prequels

Anyone notice how at the end of revenge of the sith they basically drop off every character right where they start in ANH? With a 15+ year gap ready. This is bad story telling.

characters off right where they start in ANH... except there's supposed to be over 15 years

make a comically disgusting and greedy alien

people automatically see it as antisemitic

Yeah I mean the degree to which things worked out for him could be considered providence.

survived/escaped the trade federation ship

negotiated with the gungans to travel (successfully) through the planet core, expediting their return

managed to navigate a wretched hive of scum and villainy, fulfilling both his original objective as well as an arguably much more important one

was pivotal in bringing the gungans and the naboo together to defend their shared planet

by extension of bringing anakin, was responsible for the victory against the trade federation droid army

the novelization of the phantom menace perfectly explains this

The problem? Why wouldn't Obi-wan be there? ANH establishes Luke is already pretty familiar with "Ben", like he's the strange but well-meaning old man who lives down the road. Why wouldn't that be cause to believe he's been there for a while?

a space wizard did that

That skill was still on cooldown.

Even Obi Wan and Rey have better Force abilities than the supposed Chosen One.

Qui Gon was all that mattered, right. You're right.
