Were old kinos really better than now or is it just selective memory?

90s Cartoons

wholesome and funny

wherever the fuck Cartoons kid's get today

Ugly, political propaganda woke slop

It's like how incels online shill the Dark Ages as better than modern times even doe the average life expectancy was 21yo

For every year in the 90s you can name a good show
But you can’t name a single one that came out in the last 5 years

it is true to a certain extent but there are zero good shit now and the popular stuff gets forgotten by the next season

here's how nostalgia works

you forget the bad and remember the best

That is, in fact, NOT how nostalgia works.

Reddit take.

90s Cartoons

wholesome and funny

i don't think there are even 30 animated series created in the 2020s

Die in your 20s knowing you'll go to heaven because you burned a witch and looted a Jew shop to fund a Crusade after sex with your teenage wife

BETTER
IT WAS BETTER

This isn't true at all though. Content creators get tons of content out of remembering tons of yesteryear garbage, and they get a ton of views from ppl who also remember the bad. There's an objective decline in entertainment quality and we all know why and for what reasons. "No one remembers the bad" is totally unsupported, and it flies in the face of ppl recalling what was 'bad', as it applies to all facets of life, so much so that it's routine and common for ppl to do so. So what we got here is a reality-denying cope for the fact that entertainment has been on an objective, depreciative, decline, which even appears to be worsening.

incel freak

Here's how nostalgia works. People remember the bad, they remember the good, and they long for the good of that past, which is the nostalgia. That's simply it. Now why is something that is so easily understood, why is someone attempting to discredit/deconstruct the meaning? Because this is a favored tactic of aids-commies. They cannot afford to have ppl understanding basic reality. They do it specifically to defend the aids-communism that is largely responsible for the current state of entertainment. They must always gaslight to procure followers.

daily reminder that the modern enlightened cosmopolitan has to imagine that everyone in the past was in a constant state of suffering because otherwise the entire ideological framework that allows them to justify destroying the world would fall in on itself

Dumbfuck kill yourself.

Yeah great point that I didn't think of. They're gaslighting on two fronts with this shit, gaslighting on what is happening now, and what happened in the past. Their bullshit reinforces itself that way. Sell a fake past, sell a horrible way to live in the present, and shape the future to be even worse.

There aren't even enough cartoons produced now to have this happen. The cable networks are dying and nearly every streamer that started up animation studios made nothing and shut them down.

why would i want to hear the opinion of anyone who's been watching kids cartoons for 40 years?

the average life expectancy was 21yo

American education

ban twitter screencap threads

watching old movie

actors are charismatic

actresses are beautiful

characters go and see a dog near a mountain

the dog is real, so is the mountain

watching the modern remake

the mountain is CGI

the sky is CGI

the dog is CGI

everybody is ugly, black, gay or disabled

There aren't even enough cartoons produced now to have this happen. The cable networks are dying and nearly every streamer that started up animation studios made nothing and shut them down.

But the AI generated cartoon slop era is dawning.

It's true to a degree. In music, say the 80s era, you only remember the hits but don't remember the fuck ton of garbage. However, the quality of the garbage and the quality of the best stuff was higher in comparison to what's put out now.

you only remember 30 good cartoons from the 90s!

There haven't been 30 good cartoons in the last 20 years. This argument only proves that 90s nostalgia is correct.

It's not selective memory exactly and nostalgia doesn't work that way nor is that the definition of nostalgia.
Tard boy there means rose-colored glasses which is in the same ballpark.
As to the cartoons or older media in general it presupposes that you agree with all the modern day claptrap that something is politically incorrect lowering the quality of older media and that the politically correct media of today is better simply because it "doesn't punch down".
I'd say most modern media lacks any authenticity and artistry, which is why it's so forgettable.
People are imperfect so media that mirrors this rather than papering over the flaws inherent in humanity will always feel more authentic and therefore more meaningful.
So yes older cartoons were better.

i have zero respect for grown men who obsess about the quality of toy commercials from their youth as if it was true art

average life expectancy was 21yo

You don't get it, it was better because the majority of people died as children.
There's a reason every Femcel loves the Bronte Sisters and there's more fans of the Bronte Sisters now, because they basically all died at 28 without having any kids, their only romances being the fictions they dreamt up.
Plenty of people hate being grown ups, having to work for your food, and hustle for your housing. It was easier when you died of cholera after your sister died of cholera and you spent your whole life drunk

Dark Ages

Wasn't even a real thing

well i can list 50 good '90s cartoons

maybe 30 for the '00s with a huge chunk being adult swim

maybe like fucking 2 for the '10s

and i know no zoomers can name more than 5 for this decade. guaranteed.

the numbers don't lie.

only 30 or so cartoons

Thats a shitload compared to the what, 5 that have any sort of quality today?

woah, a strangely aware post. neato

30% of US households in 1950 lacked indoor plumbing.

james cameron was directing ' got milk ' ads, nathan lane was in recurring nyquil ads, many up and coming actors and directors were cutting their teeth on such seemingly trivial avenues. you can see quality seeping through even with the slop of the past, even the cameras they used were film and the televisions they were seen on were crt, so the lighting in several shots looked kino in a way modern digital productions and led tv's can never reproduce. we just took it all for granted. even zoomers have been realizing the media of the past was often better and gravitate toward it, not that there can't be good from time to time nowadays, it's just far more sparse.

CRT televisions had worse image quality than OLED televisions.

The best movies were made between the years 1930-1960, so no, nostalgia has nothing to do with it

you'll get a few bites with this

nostalgia is the same thing as assessing art

I hate libtards. Movies have clearly, objectively, by every measurable standard, gotten worse in the past 20 years or so.

American cartoons were absolute dogshit throughout the 2000s and 2010s. Hell, even throughout most of the 90s. That's when they adopted that flat style, like a precursor to flash animation. It was just cheap.

i watched that one all the time on cartoon network back when. i remember being confused why there were other, weirder versions of already established cartoons on there.

What fucking idiot decided

the terlet, where we piss and shit and put all the filth of our bodies. Let's put that inside the house, where we live

Whose fucking idea was that
mental

If this is true tell me why shit like simpsons, spongebob, family guy etc. are used so widespread in modern media (memes) and not a single cartoon of the last 20 years even comes close to their impact. Personally spongebob is dogshit, but there are no modern cartoons or shows that come close to being as talked about or beloved as ones that came out before 2010
Wanna know why? Cause millennials aren’t likeable and are incapable of creating wholesome or even interesting content

Rose tinted glasses are real, but for example, if I went to the cinema back in the 90s, chances were that at least one, or even two or three, movies that today are considered classics, were running.
You be the judge of what and how many of today's movies will be considered classics in the future.

average life expectancy was 21yo

Such numbers can be very misleading.
The cause being very high child mortality, leading to such low numbers for the average.
In reality, once you made it through childhood, chances were good you would see advanced age, 60+ not being a rarity.
Same back to the Romans and further.
Personally though, I would rather not have lived back in any of those times.

1950

what does that have to do with the 90s?

there is a new one almost every week. hence they are all forgettable trash

Greatest invention ever

Anon Babblemblr's thataway ma'am (male)

Do you even know how plumbing works? You know you can just flush your filth and that it will be out of your house, right?
