Nicodemus
Nicodemus
all that magic and he can't get rid of the bumps on his hands?
fever dream: the movie
the magic angle is retarded and why is it such a big deal the mice can talk and are smart anyway? the bird wasn't experiminted on and he had human intelligence and could talk i don't get it but the animation is great
i'm trans btw
this is the stunningest and bravest post i have ever seen on this website
I like old cell animation when they had these weird lighting effects. I have no idea how they did it but it’s cool
Nicodemus with his bumpy, floppy, diseased penus
You’re not wrong but the film is still kino
I have no idea how they’d fix it since you’d still need animals to be fairly smart for them to have any kind of plot.
They could have set up the magic part a bit more I guess
The film was pure kino.
what would be a good ai prompt to illustrate dom deluise's jerry the crow from this and his tiger the cat from american tale.. y'know... doing it?
It's a combination of
-overhead lighting
-backlighting
-and putting colors on single frames to register as a flash or glimmer
Secret of NIMH takes place in the same universe as Flowers for Algernon
HOLY KINO
It's a shame when a director peaks with his first movie
you need to rethink the life choices that have led you to asking yourself this question
Dark magic usually corrupts the body
crows are wicked smart
Land Before Time was good. But THE SECRET OF NIMH is simply better.
Ah, a fellow King of culture.
Would be 10/10 without magic and stupid crow
The magic part seems like they just wanted a big ending but couldn’t think of a way for it to work so they just gave her a magic gem
what would be a good ai prompt to illustrate dom deluise's jerry the crow from this and his tiger the cat from american tale.. y'know... doing it?
Screencap from the 1989 Disney cartoon, 2d cel art, flat coloring, 1080p laserdisc quality, painted background, directed by Don Bluth
Courage of the heart is very rare.
This is true. It only arises in times of great purpose or desperation. The will to change things can be established slowly, by many people. But the act that instigates all of it seems like magic.
There's magic all throughout the film though.
rock-a-doodle and anastasia are both pretty good
It’s basically a sci fi film with almost no set up to the magic gem or why rats would have it
Anastasia is terrific.
watching Thumbelina
every animal wants to fuck the female main character
Nicodeeznuts
I have never seen a more beautiful group of people in the lineup
Lol.
Got any more of those NIMH WEBMS?
Sufficiently advanced technology is indestinguishable from magic
The magic elements are to put the viewer in the same frame of wonder than Mrs Brisby, a normal mouse with limited intelligence, views the fantastical creations of the super genious rats.
On the video game War of Rights, one of the most popular maps is Nicodemus Hill
Damn these animators making attracted to rodents!
The animation in this film is beautiful and the voice work is top tier but the plot and story are complete hot fucking garbage.
Great mouse detective has anthro mice and its GOAT. We didnt need gay magic shit
Only 82 and 89 are cute
Is this some kind of AI-generated discussion?
I simply can't believe that this many people can have such a specific hateboner for magic in a cartoon.
Or did some eceleb feed you this opinion?
How does making fun of his handbumps translate to me hating the film you retarded spastic?
Bunnies and mice are the sexiest animals.
I'm guessing it's bookfags
The important thing is that you fed him some attention.
I simply can't believe that this many people can have such a specific hateboner for magic in a cartoon.
Magic is woke now?
that movie was scary, goes to show how tougher people used to be.
a cartoon based on mutated lab rats of the nhs. The 80s were wild, the brits are wild.
We had already a scifi plot about intelligent human like rats building a civilization after they escaped from a top secret military facility, the magic element only made it more confusing and felt like a cheap deus ex machina
Except the bugs. They all thought she we ugly.
No. Don bluth was a psycho. Triste movie would've never been done by disney, and they allowed other fever dreams like all dogs go in heaven, stanley and an american tail
The whole point of Secret of Nimh was that is was supposed to be a throwback to the oldest Disney films in terms of presentation and story. Bluth apparently had to tell at least one investor that films like Snow White were about assassination and murder.
The movies feels very unique. Old Disney movies weren't really like this.
Isle of Dogs involves animal testing. It also has a pretty blunt seafood scene.
We need fanart of the ol rat smoking a fat cigar.
He will be called... Nicotineus.
niggerdemons
wat
Fantastic film
My favorite animated film of all time
What exactly was the secret of N?
I
NIMH during animal testing inadvertently created highly intelligent rats that could read, write and speak, and then lost track of them as they escaped captivity.
That's crazy. Did NIMH invent the magic artifacts too?
Are they pissed the lengthy discussion on Prarie Dogs got cut?
mouse sex
PS. rat sex
No, the rats, or actually, one of the mice who also escaped, created that.
Dragon the farmer's cat is monstrous looking and roars like a beast instead of meows, and is way bigger than any housecat should be in relation to mice and rats, more like a small dog, whenever he appears and chases the protagonist or other characters
Except for one single shot where we see him from a human perspective when he is just scratching at the back door of the house to be let in by the farmer's wife, he meows like a normal cat and seems smaller or less imposing at least
At the risk of using a newfangled buzzword, don't overthink it, let go and just vibe with the film.
THE SECRET OF NIMH
i saw the second movie first and man did all those miniature contraptions and machinery in thorn valley trigger my childish autism.
shit was legit magical to see.
i need to rewatch it someday, but it seems like the movie was not well received critically, as is mostly the case with direct to VHS continuations coming out more than a decade later
Theatrical film poster
DVD cover
Perfect for the family? The part with the screaming mouses that got sucked away is shocking.
It's pretty terrible
YES
i don't like it when she cuts herself ;-;
Excellent children’s book
Fucking metal
