whatever happened to the remake?

Daily Reminder that Michael O'Hare sexually harassed an intern + tried to pick fights with Jerry Doyle and was fired for this and also the PTEN affiliates dissatisfaction with his wooden performance demanding his replacement as a condition for 2nd season renewal

What? No, he left voluntarily because he had schizophrenia and spending all day around guys in alien makeup was making his symptoms way worse.

This is JMS rewriting history, he is worse than George Lucas.
Doyle talked about it on his radio show and Claudia Christiansen used to talk about it at conventions.
Doyle had declared he would not work with O'Hare again and notice in the season 3 two parter where he returns for a guest appearance he never shares any scenes with Doyle, in fact Doyle is largely absent, to keep the two apart they interact only via video monitor recorded messages and Doyles scenes in the episodes are kept to a minimum to prevent them being on the set on the same days.

I read about Jerry Doyle not liking him, but never found the reason why. Do you have any evidence of that or what Claudia Christiansen said?

"O'Hare was having bad schizophrenic episodes" and "O'Hare picked fights with Doyle" aren't mutually exclusive, and in fact it's likely one caused the other, especially if Doyle didn't know about the schizophrenia at the time which seems to be the case.
But he wasn't fired by the network, leaving was his decision.

holy retard

Doyle talked about it on his radio show and Claudia Christiansen used to talk about it at conventions.

Do you have any proof of this?

No primary evidence, just what I've seen people write on message boards about what they heard Doyle say on his radio show and Christiansen say at conventions.
I know this sounds like "trust me bro" BUT years ago I dug up evidence in SEC archives from Netter Digital Entertainments public offering listing in its due diligence filings of debts that there had been a sexual harassment suit and pay out, it didn't say who was responsible but it does confirm it happened and nobody else has the accusation. No longer have links sorry, you're welcome to look it up yourself.
Maybe it was a perfect storm of his decision, actors not wanting to work with him, and the network demanding replacement. But it is a major rewrite of history to leave out all this other stuff.

No primary evidence, only what I have seen other people say they heard Doyle say on his radio show and Christiansen say at conventions. This was before JMS big 'revelation' too.

Being around people dressed as aliens will make your schizophrenia worse.

What if he went to a furry con?

But it is a major rewrite of history to leave out all this other stuff.

which nobody does, I'm not sure where you're getting this from. he was an asshole and difficult to work with, and it was revealed years later after he died that he had severe mental health problems, which was the direct cause of his behaviour.

which nobody does

Where does JMS mention the sexual harassment, the fighting and cast refusing to work with him, and the network affiliates demanding his replacement?

watch first episode of Babylon 5

suddenly, Babylon 5 threads

in this interview JMS doesn't list O'Hare's negative behaviors he had while losing his mind

that means he's rewriting history and denying they happened

oh, you're just autistic/retarded, nevermind.

We warned you about that smart TV, anon.

Keep watching Anon, the pilot brings up like four or five things that you think are throwaway line or worldbuilding but that come up and are paid off two or three season later

All he says is he personally struggled and found production difficult.
That's not quite the same as sexually harassing someone and picking fights with fellow cast members who declared they would not work on the show if he came back.

I found a thread detailing some of the issues Jerry Doyle and the network had with Michael O'Hare. No evidence just he said she said, but still interesting to read.

sffchronicles.com/threads/39270/

I have it on good authority from anonymous insider sources that Michael O'Hare was removed from the show for being a Green sympathizer

does this autismo even know what point he's trying to make? these things all happpened, we know, and it was revealed years later the root of it was him being severely mentally ill. nobody is rewriting anything or saying it didn't happen.

Being around people dressed as aliens will make your schizophrenia worse.

it's not gonna make it worse, but if you are already having hallucinations about aliens, it's gonna make it harder for you to distinguish what is real or not, lucky me, all my hallucinations are cartoons, actual 2d cartoons, easy to ignore them even when surrounded by cosplayers.

wait so you're like Black Noir?

londo and g'kar are the best characters in all sci-fi tv shows, FACT!!!!

just he said she said

this claims there were at one times documents confirming a sexual harassment case did occur but doesn't say who it concerned

These things are not admitted. JMS lionises him for making it through the season despite his alleged disability, never mentions sexually harassing an intern or fighting with cast who refused to return with him.

Kosh's monologue before his death was fantastic but i still wish he got a little more development, i get he's supposed to be mysterious and alien by design but it would have been nice to show him having some autistic little hobbies or occasional moments of humanity so he could be more than just a walking plot device.

Fucking great series. Are the movies worth watching? I only saw the pilot one with Sinclair.

autistic little hobbies

remember his lunches with the vcr guy?

Call to Arms and In the Beginning are great, the other ones are pretty good extended villain-of-the-week episodes of the show, if you liked the show the movies are just more B5 content

He actually left after he figured out he was going insane. He started showing signs towards the end of filming season 1

In the Beginning is good, fills in what happened in the Earth/Minbar War
River of Souls and Thirdspace are okay standalone stories
A Call to Arms is a good intro to Crusade but it's a shame that series was cancelled before it even went to air

That was him saving "good" Talia's personality to be deposited back into her body in case the actress ever came back, but then she didn't

autistic little hobbies

Sheridan was Kosh's autistic little hobby.

in case the actress ever came back

no she was never supposed to leave, she would have been revealed to be the psicorp agent and then saved by kosh

nooo he should take a massive shit on this dead guy's legacy for no reason or benefit to anyone at all!

holy autism

it's even more complicated
the telepath from the pilot was supposed to be in the whole series, get altered by her encounter with kosh, and come back with major powers
the asian executive officer in the pilot was supposed to be the psicorp sleeper agent and unmasked at the end of season 1
ivanonva would have been a background lt on the bridge through season 1 and then promoted to full time cast member from season 2 onwards
with the pilot telepath not returning talia was introduced and she was then given powers by ironheart
only to then leave and pilot telepath come back

what about the intern he sexually harassed?

bro you are so fucking autistic it's hilarious. his terrible interactions happened because he was a lunatic. saying he was mentally ill is not denying they happened.

saying he was mentally ill is not denying they happened.

where has JMS said he was doing these things?
he ONLY says he personally struggled, no mention of how this struggled was externalised into sexual harassment and physical altercations

imagine being this much of a spastic.

mentally ill person crying that JMS didn't tear down a dead mentally ill person

really makes you think
